ABS system failed at 6000 miles. Dealership replaced the brake system I was told. AT 37000 miles just out of the basic warranty it has failed again. Dealership can not do the repairs due to the fact there is not enough replacement parts because of all the trucks are failing in this matter. ABS/TRACTION control failure. I have been waiting four months and told maybe March now. Dealership has been in contact and doing everything possible. Its just so many trucks are failing. I am almost ready to sell it at a loss. I purchased this truck to haul my RV which I don't dare too. Also they welded my steering linkage on a recall and now I can not align my steering with new tires. I am just amazed with this repair on a heavy duty four wheel drive as well. They did not inform me on this cheap repair. Something a kid would do and not tell his dad. Also the cruise control is now not working while there is a abs failure. 6000 miles on first failure of brakes. Truck has now 42000 on it. Im afraid of driving this truck anyplace with traffic. This truck will kill someone with this issue.

The truck shows a code indicating the ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Control have failed. The warning lights come on intermittently while driving. These warning lights disable the trucks ABS functionality along with traction control and cruise control is disabled while these warning lights are on. This problem is very widespread among this particular model. Enough so that replacement parts are on backorder and there's no guarantee that replacing the parts will remedy the problem as they will replace with the same OEM parts which have failed again in other documented cases. Several dealers I have spoken with can't even repair the issue, because they say they cannot get new parts. Ram should take responsibility to remedy this problem once and for all, as it creates a major safety hazard with the braking functionality of these trucks. This is concerning, especially considering most folks with these trucks use them to tow, creating an even more dangerous scenario in the event of brake failure at highway speeds when towing.

At 36,100 miles I started getting ABS light warning flashing intermittently on my dash. I took it to a mechanic who told me it needed a ABS module and/or a controller device replacement but these parts have been on back order for the last four months (says RAM). It looks as if many, many people are having this same problem with this vehicle. This problem resigns the vehicle as inoperable since it involves a braking component that is obviously a safety issue. This is my only vehicle so I MUST drive it at times which makes me very nervous.

ABS and stability control fails and warning lights activate intermittently 11/11/22 (47,290 miles) The cruise control disengaged without notice when the faulty modules light up. Under a heavy load this caused severe speed reduction and momentary loss of vehicle control Reported to dealer.(Rothrock motor sales) It is a know issue with thousands of suspect ram 2500's Parts are not available due to demand. This is an intermittent fault with the Stability control and/or hydraulic control module. Both parts or one part faults the other creating a hazard for all drivers Dealer was made aware of issue and states parts are back ordered months out if at all available causing customers to drive the trucks with unsafe braking due to no other means of transportation This is a well know defect being ignored by Chrysler/Ram

At 67k mileage my 2018 Ram 2500 abs, traction control and electronic braking system warning lights flash intermittently, dealer, auto parts store and several online sites state it is the ABS and HCU modules electrical failure. This causes the abs system to malfunction and poses immediate threat for crash especially while pulling trailers. When the lights flash the cruise control will no engage/disengage. No dealer has these module with no clear indication of availability as of 1/27/2023

The ABS Hydraulic Unit 68143491AB on my 2018 RAM 2500 Tradesman needs to be replaced. The light/notification came on the week of November 1, 2022 when driving down the road at 50-55 mph and then slowing to make a turn. The truck lost traction and the ABS light came on. Fortunately I was able to brake safely. Of course the problem isn't under warranty and the truck only has 15,000 miles. The antilock brake system isn't working and is unsafe when braking suddenly. The trailer brakes for my 3 horse horse trailer will not work because those brakes are dependent on the ABS system as well. The dealership that I purchased the truck has diagnosed the problem and I have been on a list for the part since November 11, 2022. It was supposed to arrive January 18, 2023 but didn't. Now the dealership says that it will be March 15, 2023. It is a known problem but parts are not available. I haven't been able to drive the truck and still cannot. The estimated repair cost is $1070 when the part arrives. This should be a recall.

The trucks ABS light and traction control lights intermittently come on. There is no pattern or reason for this occurrence. When lights are on anti lock brakes, traction control and cruise are disabled. The truck has just over 50K miles and was brought into the dealer for diagnostics. Repair was suggested for the HCU (Hydraulic Control Unit). Was then informed the item is currently on back order and is a well know issue with these trucks. My dealership proceeded to inform me they are currently waiting on "at least 5" of these units for trucks just like this one. This is a major safety concern should hard breaking become necessary and the ABS system isn't functioning properly. To make matters worse it's not even available. I was told they "Hope to have some start shipping out in March of 2023".

Beginning at almost exactly 28000 miles, this truck intermittently shows a warning for a fault with the -??electronic braking system-?? and the -??antilock braking system-?? where there are multiple warning lights and tones, and the ABS, traction control and cruise control becomes inoperative. This has increased in frequency and occurs in any conditions at random intervals. Recently it has come on and off as many as 20 times in a 12 mile trip. I am aware of a current NHTSA investigation into these vehicles as well as a class action lawsuit against Stellantis. I have reported the condition to my dealer who advised it is not covered under warranty and no parts are available to repair it.

I had a car pull out in front of me had to hit the brakes hard to avoid hitting him, after that my abs light came on says it is the hydraulic pump motor. I looked it up on line says they have 3 service bulletins on it, if it is a known problem why don-??t they recall it? Brakes should be one of the highest priorities for safety on it. The truck only has 33000 miles on it.

My ABS and Traction control has stopped working for the last 5 months. The warning alerts come on and off constantly. I have tried to disconnect the battery and waited an hour then reconnected but made no difference. I contacted the manufacturer and couldn-??t get an answer about this wide spread problem. I use this truck for towing my Travel trailer and with this system failure it has my ability to stop safely and without the traction control, pulling the trailer and parking at campsites is dangerous. My truck is available for inspection at anytime.

- I have a repeated low mileage failure of the antilock brake system hydraulic control unit. The faulty unit is still installed on the vehicle. - The ABS hydraulic unit failure intermittently renders the ABS system, traction control system, and electronic stability system inoperable for varying durations. This is the 2nd failure of this system on the vehicle. The first failure occurred during normal highway driving. The 2nd failure occurred while traveling in the mountains in the snow. Had I not been experienced driving a non-abs vehicle in inclement weather we could have crashed. - The issue was diagnosed and confirmed by a local Ram dealership service department. It was escalated to Ram customer care due to lack of parts availability and high cost of repair. Ram escalated part delivery and denied financial assistance. The vehicle is out of warranty for this particular part. - There are various intermittent warnings present. The fault condition will rapidly annunciate and then clear many times in a short time period, or stay active for long periods, or not occur at all. The fault condition appears to be completely unpredictable but is repeatable.

The HCU (hydraulic control unit), at approximately 70k miles, the service ABS light began to illuminate intermittently, after about 300 more road miles it would remain in constantly. At the same time, my ABS system and skid control was forcefully deactivated by the vehicle. Currently, I cannot use the full breaking capability of the vehicle or stabilization control. This vehicle is available for inspection. The problem is still present. My safety is greatly at risk when towing large loads. It is at risk during inclement weather where ABS is very important in maintaining traction. This problem has been confirmed and documented at the dealer. There was no prior warning before failure.

I have a 2018 Ram 2500 Diesel and throughout the past 24 months I have been receiving intermittent ABS and Traction Control lights while driving. Recently (3 days ago), the lights have come back, are staying on, and the screen displayed the words "Perform Service". I attached my diagnostic tool and the Code captured is: C0020 Status: MIL/Confirmed - ABS Pump Motor Control - General Electric Failure.

While the vehicle was still in warranty ~30k miles, the ABS and traction control lights would flash off and on numerous times as the vehicle was driven. Knocking the cruise control off. The dealership replaced the ABS module and HCU. Less than 20k miles later the issue has come back again. The alarms and lights flash repeatedly every time I drive and traction control along with the cruise control is unavailable. Now the truck is out of warranty, and this is over $1000 to replace. This is a known and well documented issue with Ram and needs to be looked at for a recall. The parts are backordered for 9-12 months. And the replacement does not fix the issue.

Anytime while driving the truck waring lights on the dashboard will come on intermittently. The ABS and traction control light will come on, and on the display screen two different messages will appear along with alarm sound constantly dinging. One message says (Service Electronic Braking System) the other says (Service Antilock Brake System). If driving with the cruise control on when those lights and messages appear the cruise will stop working. This problem is intermittent it comes and goes, but usually very often. The truck is out of warranty with 41000 miles on it and this has been happening since Sept. of 2022. I had it diagnosed by an independent garage and had two trouble codes (C0020-01 ABS Pump Motor Control General Electrical Failure) and (C0020-16 ABS Pump Motor Control Circuit Voltage Below Threshold). The truck still seems to stop normally, but I feel very unsafe driving it. The ABS Hydraulic Control unit is unavailable from the dealer. As of today Jan.-18 2023 they are saying it will not be available until March-15 2023. This is most definitely a safety issue on the truck which should be recalled. The dealer says the parts problem is a supplier issue. I believe the manufacturer knows these are defective and is trying to avoid recall.
