The contact owns a 2019 Ram 2500. The contact stated while driving at undisclosed speeds and coming to a stop, the rear tailgate opened independently without warning. The contact exited the vehicle and closed the tailgate. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the tailgate was out of alignment but, refused to provide the repair because the vehicle was not purchased from the dealer. The contact stated that the failure recurred on several occasions. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 43,036.
