Second time in 3 months the windshield has cracked. I will not permit another 12 hrs hostage situation while the windshield gets replaced and EYESIGHT gets recalibrated. I will replace the glass with a manufactured glass that will not crack and disable the EYESIGHT with the car if I decide to keep the car. If I decide to sell the car, will replace the OEM windshield and not drive it until I can get rid of the car.

When the little piece of gravel hit the windshield, I thought no biggie - it hit in between the driver/passenger side and as I was still driving, it fractured 6 inches! The hit was the size of a pea! This made me so irritated because, I didn't even have a chance to get it filled... the windshield just flowered. So I knew it would have to be repaired.
Our insurance uses Safelight Auto Glass. After 8 hrs there, and replacing the glass 2x (once not with OEM glass) - the car's EYESIGHT didn't calibrate. I took it in again and they replaced it with OEM glass. It still didn't calibrate (EYESIGHT). The third time at Safelight had to take it to the dealership to get the EYESIGHT calibrated. A total of 12 hrs spent to replace this windshield. NOT HAPPY. Then... a pea sized piece of gravel hit the new windshield last week.
I'm filing another complaint and have reported a complaint to the National Highway Transportation and Safety Board on the windshields for this make and model of Subaru.

Ridiculous to get a windshield crack just sitting in the driveway.

Love the car, but can't believe the windshield cracked after a small pebble hit it, coming from another car changing lanes ahead of me. The third day I had the car. Other owners are reporting the same problem, and one person in the business said that Subarus and Jeeps were the worst. Apparently there is a class action lawsuit underway about this problem.
A patch did not work and shop says the windshield must be replaced and recalibrated. I'm hoping that this is not going to be a continuing problem with this car. Surely there must be a better material for windshields in this day and age.

Cracked windshield appeared overnight. We have a small chip from a rock hitting it in the upper corner of the windshield. This crack appeared nowhere near that chip and literally appeared overnight. It's huge and directly in my line of sight. The cost to replace is outrageous due to Subaru requiring OEM and having to recalibrate all the cameras. This car is just over a year old. Is this a yearly cost of maintaining my Subaru? I don't even want the OEM glass if it is going to break again....

I saw the windshield crack after defrosting windshield. Read that this can happen with Subaru, who do not take responsibility. Took to dealership who stated he saw where a rock "hit it", causing the crack. Obviously phibbing as likely told to do by his supervisor. No impact site was seen.

The windshield is very thin. A tiny pebble hit the side of the front right side windshield and chipped it. Within a few miles, there was a 6 inch crack, and within 7 days, the crack grew across half the windshield. I had to make a claim to my insurance, and pay out $500. I had my brand new vehicle for 6 months! Disappointed.

Their windshields are thin. They chip very easily. The tiniest rock will chip and possibly crack the winshield.

Windshield likely got hit by a small object on the road. The impact point was small, but after about a month, the chip area grew to about 2 inches long crack. Considering so many complains about the Subaru windshield crack, the quality of the product is in question. Need Subaru to cover/extend the windshield warranty.

I have two 2020 Foresters. Both of their windshields cracked within the first year of owning these cars. They want 1500.00 to replace them! Can't afford that so we just drive them as is. If Subaru doesn't address this issue, we wont be buying Subaru's again. I've never owned a car that had a windshield crack for no reason
