Had oil change on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017. Drove home and parked car. Drove to work on Dec. 25 and it was jerking and not idling correctly. Dec. 26, got to 70mph and dash lit up like Christmas tree. Called Subaru. Dropped it off and did not see it again until January 19, 2018...yes...that's 23 days. First, they said there was no code (oh really) then they finally got a code but ended up calling Subaru Corporate for a tech advisement. Received 3 pages of repairs for Cylinder #4 issues and shims put on all cylinders, O-rings, Gaskets, etc. It came back with 95 more miles on it after I was told they would only do a 20 mile test drive. The Service person helping me said he asked the mechanic who said he did a 40 mile test drive. Very fishy. Week later same thing happened. And the story continues.
Update from Jun 8, 2018: The update is, they could not fix the car and after 5 months of haggling and finally bringing up the Nevada Lemon Law, the car was exchanged. The exchange was a process in itself as they have to do a collateral exchange. This was not a fun experience and would not wish anyone to go through it. If it were to ever happen again, I would take the check and not the exchange and run.
