Why have I not been contacted...this is ridiculous..10 recalls on this vehicle and none of them have been fixed...this was a dangerous vehicle that never shod have been on the road..total loses of vehicle..where is the warranty?.. this vehicle was sold less than a month after my accident and I was told therefore the vehicle could not be located for investigation.. I want something done about this..!

I stopped at a red light. Several engine lights started blinking. When the light turned green, my car would only move very slowly. I was lucky enough to get through the light with oncoming traffic and then coast downhill to a residential area. I had just gotten off of a 4-lane divided highway. I had to have the car towed to my Toyota dealership. They told me that my engine control module had short-circuited and replaced it in the next two days, the part # being 8966102F54. The car is running fine now. I'm scared though, that this might happen again, or that it could have happened at high speed, or that my teenage daughters would have panicked in the situation and may have been hit while going through the green light. I was driving to work when suddenly thick smoke started appearing from the driver's side power window switch. I immediately pulled over and got out of the car. The smoke had the typical smell of burning plastic and the front passenger window slowly opened on its own. After 5 minutes, the smoke stopped and I continued to my office as it was nearby. Later in the evening, upon removing the switch, the melted plastic was clearly visible. One of the switches on the panel does not depress anymore due the melting of the plastic. The switch that does not depress is for the front passenger window and it has been open since Friday July 19th because the problem has not been fixed yet. I am aware of a recall for the exact same issue however, it is for Corolla models up to 2009 and since mine is a 2010 model, Toyota refuses to address this situation.

After starting the engine and driving approximately 100 feet, the dashboard lights: ABS, anti skid symbol, battery and oil lamp appeared. Lost power steering, windshield wipers ceased, it was raining heavily. Drove approximately 6 miles to home. The next morning, car started without any issues, drove approximately 100 feet, the same lights appeared and power steering again ceased. Able to drive approximately 5 miles to work. Made an appointment with dealership for after work. Car immediately started with the above mentioned lights appearing again and without power steering. Drove approximately 2 miles, all power in car stopped, and car immediately stopped. Was unable to restart car, car was towed to dealership, where the service member stated the car needed a new alternator. When asked why this would occur with only 25000 miles, the service department was unable to give me a response. The alternator was costly. I am the original owner, purchased this car in July, 2009. Service my car regularly as suggested in manual at a Toyota dealership. I am disappointed with needing such a costly repair as I have never experienced this in the past with other makes of cars. All of which I have owned for 8 to 10 years each.

The contact stated that he disconnected the switch as a temporary remedy to prevent a possible fire. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered to cover half of the repair costs. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 31,800.

First, the trunk stopped opening from the inside. Also, the vsc off light, check engine light, and traction light all came on at the same time while I was driving and I have no idea why. The gas cap was on tightly, the fuel levels were right, there was no need for an oil change, and the car is only 2 1/2 years old in which I did not do any wreckless driving.

This vehicle uses a drive by wire (dwb) accelerator. When you press on the gas the car lurches forward. This happened on a rental car in 2010 and still is a problem on the used Toyota I purchased. When I contacted Toyota they stated there was no recall information. They asked me to have the vehicle diagonized at my expense, which I refused to do. This is a problem and based on information on the net others are having the same problem. I have owned many cars and not one has had such a touchy pedal.

As I was driving on hwy, I suddenly lost my power steering and I had power steering light, vsc and slippery car light cam on. From that point on I didn't have power steering, it was difficult to drive since it was hard to turn. Thank god that I didn't get involve in wreck. When I took it momentum Toyota dealer in tulsa and explained what happened, service advisor said that since it has almost 45,000 it is not covered under warranty. When I called to Toyota customer service and express my safety concern, they said if it is concern that I need to get it fixed and pay out of pocket since it has about 45000 miles on it. I also informed them that it is well know issue on and there are alot of people having issue with power steering, he said I am sorry you vehicle is out side the warranty and we will not cover it.

My 2010 Toyota Corolla continues to have acceleration issues. Now it accelerates with the cruise control on to speeds over 100/110 mph. I had to drive my car from Vermont to California, and used my cruise control for the first time. The speed limit was 75 to 80 mph in areas and I set the cruise control to 72. The next thing I new, the car suddenly lurched forward on its own & went completely out of control. It went to speeds of 100- 120 mph within 1-2 minutes and I could hardly control the car. I have been in 3-4 acceleration incidents with this vehicle already and been injured (the reports I have already filed with your Agency this past year). This vehicle is going to kill someone. There is an electrical or engine problem with these Toyota, no matter what the NHTSA, the feds, or Toyota states. It is not the way americans are driving ! don't insult our intelligence. How many more innocent victims have to get hurt. All we are asking is for Toyota to take these cars back and replace them with a safe car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is what is fair to the consumer. That is what the lemon law is for. Yet why does no one listen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 2010 Toyota Corolla with 1,900 miles on it, I purchased the veh in the middle of November. After purchasing the vehicle I began to notice that my right arm would collect static electricity when I would place it on top of the center arm rest/console. At first I would only get the static spark when I touched the metal frame of my door, then when I entered the vehicle I would once again collect the static electricity on my right arm from the center arm rest/console. I began to just not pay attention to the static build up I would get until yesterday December 29, 2010. I excited my vehicle and proceeded to open my gas compartment door, as I touched the compartment door, I received the static spark. Now I am becoming concern because it happen when I touched the compartment door had it happened a few seconds later I could have been pumping gas. I drove to the Toyota dealer near my home and was asked to sit in another 2010 Toyota Corolla and I also build up static electricity, then they had me sit in a 2010 Toyota Camry and nothing happened. Clearly the type of material used on the center arm rest/console is causing this static build up on my arm. The material used in the Camry is not causing this. The dealer told me that they didn't know of any static complaints. I would like to have someone investigate this, it isn't safe to go pump gas while having static electricity. I can show anyone who would like to see it how the hairs on my arm stand up once I touch the center arm rest/console.

I took the car to the dealer and they fit me right in even though they were busy, which I appreciated very much. This all happened at approximately 62,000 miles. Luckily the car was still covered under 8 yr/80000 miles warranty.

Our 2010 Toyota Corolla (automatic transmission) frequently hesitates as if acceleration has ceased and then reaccelerates after it appears to switch gears. Happens at highway and freeway speeds, seems to increase with use of A/C. after test drive, Toyota mechanic explained this is normal and due to electrical parts that have replaced mechanical parts. He said car is thinking when it switches gears and apparently stops its other function (I.e., maintaining a steady speed) for a "nanosecond." This happens every block or so in highway driving, and although the speed doesn't change, the impulse changes are physically perceptible (we can feel it in the seat and steering wheel, as if the car is jerking). The mechanic said this is normal in newer cars as most have gone to the new technology. The mechanic's explanation is logical, but Toyota's acceptance of this as normal in newer models of cars is disturbing. We do not experience this in our 2010 Ford Fusion. Stopped at a red light, my 2010 Toyota Corolla shot up to 6,000 RPM/100mph. We were able to put it in park and shut car off before it lurched forward into the car ahead. Toyota has had the car since Monday and is trying to find out what is wrong with the computer. A report was filed with customer experience center and a case number has been assigned to the incident.

I have 2010 Toyota Corolla (VIN# [xxx] ) purchased on Oct 31 2009 from sansoneautomall, NJ. There is a problem with the steering column initially which started with some unique sound, then from Feb 2010 I was seriously facing steering freeze (will get harden) only 15-20% of steering moves when in 0' speed, for this I have visited my dealer service center 3 times but there is no use. Only with lot of disappointment and arguments saying "what is the reason to buy a brand new car to get problems" I was requesting to solve my problem. They simply said, there is nothing we can do if you have no other mean to commute its upto you and if you want you call Toyota head quarters for this. I even spent lot of time in calling main Toyota nr but simply I get voice message that "there is huge volume of call waiting please wait". I really wonder when I/anyone buy a car from dealer and if they cannot receive me assist me properly "where from I get the justice"??"". recently I found two more new problems they are: In a slope road car picks-up acceleration and maintains speed as if it is cruised and once I apply break after a while the speed comes to normal position other prob- fuel indicator stuck up to full level indi' even the fuel is low. With this I'm day by day getting depressed as I spent quite lot of savings (money) on the car to avoid any hassles buying a used car, but unfortunately its a disaster to me. I have 2010 corollo sport if I am driving on 45 mile/hour and hit the brake then remove my leg from the brake. The car maintain speed of 20-25 mile/H for about 2 minutes. I took to the dealer they test it and they confirmed that this happens. And they told me this is a normal behavior, and I know it is not

My 2007 Toyota Corolla had a failed ECM which caused the check engine light to come and stall the engine. In addition, my vehicle had high RPM and shifting gear problems as well. The failed ECM issue was discovered by a specific code for check engine light. I called Toyota and they were certainly aware of the problem however told me that they did not have enough complaints to recall the issue. I called Toyota dealer and they informed since my mileage was 95,000 and the warranty would only cover up to 80,000 miles. I ended up getting the ECM replaced for about $800 at carmax which was $700 cheaper than what Toyota wanted to charge. I called Toyota headquarters again to complain and was left with no resolution. After my research online, this was a well known problem to Toyota however they failed to address this issue. This issue occurred to many vehicles as low as 35000 miles under warranty and still continue to occur out of warranty over 80000 miles. I feel if they had a recall on this issue, I would have never had these issues with my car being stalled and having to replace the ECM. I recently read an article in news about your involvement in regards to investigation of this issue and hope Toyota can recognize to accept this failed recall. I have leased a 2010 Corolla in July 2010 it now has approx. 4200 miles on it I continue to have unexplained what appears to be electronic or computer software problems with the vehicle. One instance was I put the car in drive, but the car did not move, but the engine revved when I put my foot on the gas pedal. I then put the car in neutral and back into drive and the car functioned normally. I then drove approx 6 miles round trip and returned home, put the car in park, I had my foot on the brake, and my hands were touching nothing I was reading something that I had in my hand and the high beams popped on the light illuminated on the dash, it was fairly light out so I don't imagine that is a feature, it was a bit overcast and cloudy. The odometer at some point changed from displaying miles with 10ths and only displays full number miles, I think it was after I accidentally hit the alarm button on the remote key that it changed but I don't know for sure. I also believe the car's computer was not properly set upon delivery, or they put in a software upgrade when I went to the dealership. The invoice shows they did a computer reset. The recall fix has already been performed on this vehicle, and I am now unable to get a response from Toyota, I have been waiting 3 days since I reported it to the dealership and I have not received a response, and today I can not get through to Toyota or the dealership due to high call volume.
