Takata recall - received recall notice in spring '15, never received update on remedy. Checked with dealer in Oct. '15, told parts still not available. Called dealer today (Jan. 9, 2016), was given no information. Called Toyota national office, told parts were ready in December for remedy. National office called my dealer (Continental Toyota, countryside, il, 708-354-5800) to make appointment for remedy. In recall notice, it states to contact you if Toyota has failed to remedy the defect within a reasonable time. Have had to cram my wife and two teenage children in the backseat for at least 6 months as we warned not to operate vehicle with occupant in front passenger seat. Finally have appointment for Monday, Jan. 11, 2016

Takata recall - this is my only car and I have two kids to Transport as well as others and I cannot guarantee that no one sits in the front passenger side as requested. I am also concerned with my own safety as the driver, plus my son is starting to drive in 1 month as he gets his learners permit. I am in the priority 1 group but have heard nothing about getting this corrected.

Takata recall: My complaint is that the NHTSA site says the recall was 6/16/2015. I only got the notice in probably August but there is not date on it. This means I cannot carry a passenger in my front passenger seat without liability. I have called the dealer and Toyota. Neither knows any time this will be fixed in my area, Oregon. It is ridiculous that I have to can't carry a passenger in my car for such a long time. Is there a fix" when are you requiring Toyota to supply parts? can I ask them fora rental car until they get this fixed" they should have dated their letter!

Takata recall: In June 2015 I received this notice of a safety recall due to the airbag inflators possibly being manufactured in such a way as to where they could retain moisture which could rupture and cause serious injury or death.I am advised to not let anyone sit in the passenger seat till it is fixed. It has been six months! this is way way beyond a reasonable amount of time to have this fixed. Horrible customer service Toyota! I am the care taker of my elderly parents and drive them on errands and to appts ect. I also care for my grand daughter. And carpool to school. This has been a hugh burden on me. For the record my air bag light is always on, and my clock and stereo keep resetting. The passenger airbag constantly blinks and the no seat belt sign blinks and beeps as if someone was sitting there with out a seatbelt. You are unprepared to fix this situation, and I find this unacceptable. Everytime I get in my car, I am worried they could deflate and injure or kill myself or my parents or granddaughter. Unfortunately I have no choice but to use my vehicle as it is the only one I have. You may contact me asap regarding a rental car until this is resolved. I am no longer putting my life at risk because you are unprepared ! I will be filing a complaint with the BBB as soon as I am done with this, and will contact an attorney if need be. Awaiting your prompt reply regards, linda

Takata airbag recall. We received the recall letter in August. Since then, we have not been able to use our car with anyone in the front passenger seat. That puts a strain on our family...we can't drive the car with 5 people and we think Toyota should do something to allow us to use our car in a normal way. They have proposed a loaner car, but we would have to pay the insurance, as our personal car insurance does not cover a long term rental that is due to a recall. As there is no end in sight, that could become impossibly expensive. It just doesn't seem fair to put our family out like this, with no idea when it will end.
