Matrix 1.8L

This is just one of the problems with this car. I also had a bad engine but, that is in another complaint on this site. Back round of car. My girlfriend bought brand new thinking a Toyota would last many years. Haha! About a week or two before the motor blew the the ABS and Brake light came on. I initially thought it was because we had a tail light out but I changed that. I know was not pads because we did those 6 months ago. After checking on line then talking to my mechanic I got the same indication. The connectors for the ABS sensors rot away on hubs. Haven't pulled wheels off yet as I said before motor just died. I understand can get expensive depending if I can just clean out connectors or have to start replacing hubs and wires. Could go up to $1000 or more. Please let anyone thinking of buying an 09 Matrix, DON'T!!! This car was great until it hit 100,000 miles, then it started to completely fall apart. I guess that is why they do not build that model anymore. I also found out a friend of a friend had one and motor had to be changed because was burning oil with no explanation. Toyota actually fixed that one last summer. Besides that one more thing I can say is Toyota does not make cars like they used to. They are no longer good reliable cars that go for ever. Be warned and buy another brand!!!
