Catastrophic engine failure. I was driving home when the engine began knocking. Drove the last couple miles home and parked in my driveway. Engine running rough, and oil was dripping onto the ground under the engine. Toyota has evaluated and said it needs a new engine. Note - Toyota has a recall but is currently claiming my vehicle is not covered as it's just outside/newer than the covered trucks. As of today's date, 9/19/24, Toyota has had my vehicle since 7/17/24 and it's STILL not repaired.

There are many incidents, issues, and critical safety problems with my vehicle. I have had multiple repair attempts, with multiple Toyota Car Dealerships, and have continued to have the same amount of problems, and issues with this vehicle. Multiple leaks of fuel, smells of gas and burning, odometer reads brakes failing, and danger lights, Transmission shifting issues, Engine knocking while driving and at a complete stop, Brake issues, By the grace of God my family and I have not been in an accident yet. I have taken my car in for repairs multiple times and to this day my vehicle is still being repaired at the dealership as we speak. My vehicle has cumulatively been at the dealership for almost 3 months. My family and I are under an assortment of insurmountable mental, and physical stress with the level of unsafe, unfit, and unreliable attempts to not only trust this vehicle to operate safely, but trust the service technicians to safely, and correctly diagnose the many unsafe issues with this vehicle. I have made several attempts in filing cases, complaints, and attempts of contact, to resolve these multiple issues with the manufacturer, and have had no such luck. Please, for the safety and daily life continuity of my family. Please help me resolve these issues with the manufacturer. My family, and I do not feel safe and do not feel like our issues are being acknowledged or resolved. Please let me know if there is anything that can be done so that my family can safely, and cordially operate a functioning vehicle. Thanks and God Bless. I have been informed that my vehicle was affected by the recall involving the machining debris and therefore unsafe to drive. The dealership in Kendall Toyota, who is not normally my service dealer called me and after removing all my belongings and waiting for hours I was told my rental car was a Chevrolet Traverse, which I was unable to use for my business and was told I had to leave it with them indefinitely, and so I called my usual dealership in Hollywood, who informed me they would be able to help me out with a more appropriate rental vehicle the next day I advised the dealership at Kendall picked up my truck and went to Toyota of Hollywood only to be sent away stating that they did not have the remedy and we-??re not able to help me. I have since followed up and every time I go in they tell me again only once I get there they don-??t have the remedy and this is happened three times. I feel unsafe driving the vehicle and would very much like to have a safe and dependable vehicle to which I feel I am owed considering how much I paid for this truck. I feel like I am getting the runaround.

The vehicle is currently awaiting repair at the Toyota Dealership. The turbo froze. This is the second turbo to freeze on this truck. It was previously repaired by Toyota in April, 2024. This truck had 2,356 miles on it when the second turbo froze on July 31. The check engine light and reduced power indicators have displayed throughout both incidents. The service manager has yet to explain why this is happening in the engine system. As of today, I cannot find a recall on the truck when I use the VIN.

My truck has a build date of January 17, 2023. I have not received a recall notice despite it being included in the date range for replacement. The dealership told me the engine was produced from another plant that did not have the debris problem. I am only aware of this engine being produced at the Huntsville, AL engine plant. I believe my engine should be included in this recall.

The tailgate opens on its own while I am traveling down the highway. I now have to brace anything I put in the bed of the truck lest the tailgate opens on the highway and I spill my load and cause a catastrophic injury or death on the highway. When shifting into Park, having to keep my brakes firmly engaged due to a periodic and rapid acceleration of the engine. At cruising speed, on the highway, a vibration that only occurs when climbing hills coupled with a rapid pulsing of the engine/transmission. At cruising speed, on a level ground, the transmission rapidly disengages and reengages. Weekly I have gauge and infotainment malfunctions wherein I have to turn off the truck and restart it to make the gauges work. The gauges just freeze and fail to respond. The compass flips direction. Malfunctioning gas gauge. The backdoors lock and will not unlock. Occasionally, when they lock, I have to crawl into the backseat, from the from seat and manually unlock the door from the inside of the truck. A flat tire where when I went to change it, the jack bent-??in my driveway. I now have to carry a 3rd-party jack and tools to handle emergency repairs. A regular malfunction of the rearview mirror. A cracked drivers seat. 6-months after purchasing the truck, the door trim came off in my hand. When I spoke to the Toyota tech, he advised me that this was not covered under warranty, and suggested that some customers keep the trim off as -??most of the trim was installed with double-sided tape and would just fail again-??. Though, to be fair, he did offer to, at several hundred dollars a pop, keep replacing the trim every couple of months. While my Truck is parked in the garage, when the trucks system does an update, it opens my garage door.

We have had this vehicle about a year and a half, 2023 Toyota Tundra and have had to take it back and forth to McLarty Toyota for recall work. Concerning this particular recall, 24ta07-Engine may stall during driving, we were told is unfixable. If this vehicle cannot be fixed, we are demanding it be replaced with a reliable truck

My truck engine was stalled shortly couple times on me. 1- When I try to turn right to get out of my sub division in the morning, my truck stalled. I released the gas paddle and step on it again and this time the truck is going ok. Luckily the coming car be able to stop before hitting my truck. 2- One time I went out for lunch with a friend, when we got back to the company's parking lot, I tried to back up the truck and the truck one stalled. I released the gas paddle and step on it again and it is ok. My friend thought it may be the rain outside.

Pulling into traffic from a stop or near stop (such as a stop sign or yield sign), the vehicle does not respond to the gas pedal. After significant lag / hesitation, the vehicle lurches forward. This has happened multiple times starting around September 2023, and the problem is worse when the engine is cold (cold mornings) although it happens at all times to some extent. It seems to have gotten worst and happens almost daily at this point. There have been several times that the lag / hesitation has left me sitting in the middle of an intersection and almost caused me to be hit by other vehicles. I have had the vehicle in to the dealer 5 times for this issue and have been told it-??s -??normal-?? or they cannot replicate it. On the 5th time, Toyota corporate sent a representative Anthony Merejo, who verified in email that he experienced the hesitation and was sending the data back to Toyota engineering to see if there was a fix. That was about 6 weeks ago and I haven-??t heard back.

I have lost engine power while driving highway speeds on more than one occasion. There is no consistency on when this condition occurs. The engine light comes on and the engine goes into limp mode. Under the current circumstances, my Tundra is unsafe and poses a hazard to me and communities at large. This is because there is something faulty with my Tundra that is causing the sudden loss of engine power. Once I pull to the side of the highway, turn off the engine, then restart the Tundra the engine light goes away and the truck operates normally and does not register a fault code.

While traveling at highway speed, with no warning my truck lost acceleration power. There were other vehicles in the road, and I had to travel across multiple lanes to get to an exit while the vehicle was continuously slowing down. This put myself and my children at risk due to the sudden loss of power. I was able to exit and turn the engine off, after which, the problem seemed to stop. I took my truck to the dealership where it was purchased to have them check the truck, and they were unable to reproduce the problem. Their inspection only showed them that there were engine misfires. They told me the issue would need to be reproduced or would need to happen to me again before anything could be done about it or before they could get Toyota involved. I did explain that I had the "Reduced Engine Power" and "Brake System Malfunction" warning light that, through my research, have been experienced with other Tundra owners when they had "engine failures."

While driving on the freeway, going about 65 mph and attempting to accelerate, the check engine light starting alarming and came on, and the vehicle engine shut off. I was able to somehow safely navigate the vehicle across multiple lanes of traffic without causing an accident. I lost power steering and any ability to accelerate. After being able to navigate to the side of the freeway, it took multiple times to restart the vehicle, but it did finally restart. During the remainder of the drive the issue did not occur again. I called the dealership where it recently was having recalls performed to have them look into the cause of this. They were able to tell me that the engine "stalled" but they had no resolution or desire to further investigate this matter. This is extremely disturbing to me as I am very lucky that this did not cause a major accident. I am currently pregnant with my second child and my son is [XXX] old. It is very scary to think that I could potentially be seriously harmed with my children in the vehicle if this even were to happen again. - For the brakes, one month after the purchase date (November 2022), the brakes make a loud screech and to this date (17 May 2024), they still screech. I have took it into the dealer to report it and they still don't have a remedy. - My engine had something internally brake on Easter Sunday 2024. When I first took it to the dealer on Monday, it took a day or two and they found nothing wrong. I picked it up and noticed a loud tapping noise coming from the engine, I took it back to the dealer, the technician opened up the motor and found metal shavings all over the inside of the motor. I had it replaced within a month and a half later, wow, brand new and this is what happened.
