When driving on a windey road the ABS light came on and the car was breaking funny. I checked online to see if there was any recalls on my vehicle and found that the ABS module software needed to be updated. The recall also stated that the ABS module may need to be replaced due to this problem. I took it in and had the update installed, so now that I have it back, it is worse than ever. They said that I would need to replace the ABS module for $1,6665 in order to get my car working right again. "wasn't it included" I asked. They said it was a separate problem and the error code was not in the perimeters. I'm not the only one with this problem do to Volkswagen's screw up with the software. I've checked around and there are many others that are having the same problems. Just the other day the epc light came on and the speedometer stopped working because apparently the ABS module on this vehicle also tracks your speed. I'm not the only one and this is a blatant fault towards Volkswagen and their shady practice.

Takata recall. In February of 2017 my check engine light came on and was accompanied by a series of 3 beeps. As I continued to drive more lights came on and my dash board looked like a christmas tree ex. Airbag, oil, check engine, ABS, epc, brake light, etc. When driving on the high way my gauges will shut off and I can not see how fast I am going, my car will decelerate with my foot on the gas at random times on the high way. I look my car in for repair to cars auto in las vegas because my car could not pass smog. They did an analysis and informed me that my ABS module was shot and there was an active recall for the device. I took it to my local VW dealership and thought with my safety in concern that this would be a simple fix. Instead, they informed me that I would need to make an appointment and come back another day but I refused to drive my car off the lot. They took my car to the back and said that my ABS module was not communicating with the computer and that I would need to pay $700 to have a diagnostic done before they would replace my ABS. If the ABS is faulty as explained in recall #16V913 under VW action 45F2 if the ABS fails to pass the test then it will be replaced free of charge. They seem to not be complying and giving me the run around.

Recall 45F2- while driving my car under normal conditions the ABS light came on. Coincidentally the next day I received a letter in the mail stating there was a recall on the ABS for my vehicle. When I contacted VW they could not find the recall. I did a search and found it in 5mins. I contacted them again and told them I found it they proceeded to schedule an appointment. After they worked on my car and did the software update the ABS light was still on. They told me my ABS pump had a failure code of 01276/12 (ABS pump electrical error in circuit remains) and that the recall did not cover it and quoted me to replace the whole assembly at $2600. My understanding is that the ABS module controls the pump and if the pump fails it is because the module failed. I contacted VW corporate and they gave me the same answer, it is not covered under the recall. If I drive the car I am at risk of dying, my wife and children are at risk of dying. This is one of the most important parts of the car. I can not believe VW would try and push the fix back on the consumer!!!!

How do I know the dealer actually did the ABS repair" also, why is the ABS pump not part of the recall? it's difficult to believe that the software caused the ABS module to fail, but had nothing to do with the pump. The ABS module on my 2009 VW Jetta. After taking it to the VW dealer in Ontario California on 12-27-2016, service adviser robert tobar informed me that the ABS module failed and told me that it needed to be replaced. I was quoted $2640.39. I asked him if there was a recall for this part and he said no. Since so many people had the same problem, I figured it had to be a faulty part and decided to wait for the announcement of a recall. In March 2017, I found out that approximately 136K vehicles were recalled for the ABS module. Manufacturer recall number 45F2/NHTSA recall number 16V913 after searching my VIN number, I found out that my car is eligible for the recall. I took my car to the dealer 3/10/17 9:30am. The service adviser is philip gibson. I called philip at 4:46pm and he informed me that the replacement ABS part was put on order and that it would take approximately 5 days to fix. At 523pm, philip called me and said that because my ABS module already faulted due to the recall, that I wasn't eligible for the recall and that I would have to pay for the fix to be eligible for the recalled. I told him that this did not make sense and he agreed and told me to call customer care at 9093765411. Unfortunately, customer care was already closed. Please help.

On June 22, 2016, while driving on a winding road the ABS/ESC lights illuminated and flashed. They went away when the car was turned off and restarted. Then, on November 15, 2016, I made a defensive driving maneuver after being cut off by another car. I was driving approx 60 mph on the freeway and applied the brakes quickly to avoid hitting the other car. The brakes locked up causing the care to skid. The car began to fishtail and lose control. I was unable to steer properly and the ABS system never engaged. The car spun and did 180 degree turn slamming into the side of the freeway wall causing over $4000 in damage to the car. After the crash the ABS/ESC caution lights were illuminated and flashing. The lights went away when the car was turned off and restarted. Then on Jan. 5 2017, during adverse weather conditions (snow packed roads), my car slid off the freeway and became stuck. I had to request emergency road side services to pull me out. I was traveling under 10 mph and the ABS system failed to engage. Once again the ABS and ESC warning lights were illuminated turning off when the car was restarted. All of these incidents appear to be directly related to the recent recall notice for the ABS control module failure.

Volkswagen ABS stability issues... this issues started in the end of December 2016 when I started to drive it to take my son to work all of a sudden every light on the dashboard when I started it my car came on and did not go off I set for a while I reversed and the car steering wheel was hard to turn. After I tried to reverse the lights on the dashboard when off I started to drive halfway to my destination all of the lights came back on and then the car started to become very flimsy. I pulled over turn the car off I turn the car back on all the lights came back on and then they went off again by the time I got to my destination I turn the car off and sat and called the Volkswagen dealership they instructed me to go back to where I just got my tires done because maybe it was just a sensor. At this time I could not find a towing company I started the car back the lights went away I tried to drive towards the mechanic I previously used the lights came back on I drove slow with my hazard lights on pulled over to the side call the mechanic they told me to try to make it down to their shop. At the ryman to the shop they checked over the car and said it was an electrical issue and the dashboard module. I called the mechanic at the Volkswagen dealership in union city Georgia they instructed me to try to bring it up to them after bringing it to them they said sad that I needed to get a electrical module repaired and something else and my total was going to be $3,200. I was not able to get it done on that day they asked me whether I could purchase another vehicle exchange that one or try to find a lower price and they will match it. I have not been able to do neither. I now find out that this problem was a recall no one is contact me I accidentally found out on my telephone watching the news.
