Takata recall. The vehicle still has no repair available for the airbag issue (takata recall). I do not feel safe driving this around and I worry each day I get in to go to work. How can Volkswagen advise customer that it is "okay" to keep driving the vehicle when this recall is deadly to the consumer if the airbags deploy. Please help. Something has to be done in order to solve this fatal problem.

Recall notice #15V48300; date 08/04/2015; air bags; frontal I was backing the car out of my driveway turning my steering wheel when I heard something rattling around in the steering wheel and then I heard a "snap" or "pop" and then an air bag error alert was displayed on the information panel, the air bag light illuminated, and I lost the electronic controls on my steering wheel. The car is currently at the dealership and the quote to repair the issue is around $550. Unfortunately for me, my VIN is not included in the recall notice 15V483000 for 2010-2014 Passat sedans, so I am called VW to complain and hopefully they can do something to help with the cost of repairs since there are 2010-2014 Passat sedans that are affected by the recall, just not mine.

NHTSA recall number: 16V078 recall date: February 9, 2016 manufacturer recall number: 69M9. Manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner. Potential is for, in the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, which may result in serious injury or death to vehicle occupants. It has been 6 months since I received notice of the defect. This is ridiculous to allow drivers to be in harms way for this long.

Takata recall. On 8/4/16 I was informed of the air bag recall on my vehicle I am currently leasing. I never received a letter informing me of this issue. My lease is ending soon and I was going to buy the vehicle until the manager informed me that I could not purchase the vehicle because it had a present ongoing recall that states no remedy yet for this issue, I believe it is Volkswagen responsibility to take this car off my hands and clear my balance due to their manufacturer unsafe defects in the air bag. Everyday I am putting myself at an even higher risk of driving because my air bags have been recalled stating more harm then good will occur in the event of an accident. It is only right they accept the vehicle back without me being financially responsible for it.
