Passat

When I got Passat SE I did research and I thought it was a safe car. My first priority to lease a car was safety. On April 2016 I got a letter from VW that airbag on front is not safe and it may causes serious injury or death. It been almost 10 months and still there is no words on when it will be fix. What is going to happen if I get in accident and die" who would fulfill my place for my kids" I want to change the car or have VW buy my car back. I want to live with my family not die. This is a serious safety issue and needs to be fixed right away. I got in accidentand the front airbag did not open

Takata recall Volkswagen will not fix the airbag of the car, help find a remedy or give a date to fix it. My wife is pregnant and has to drive a car with an airbag that has potentially been transformed into a bomb after it has been subjected to the Florida heat.

Takata recall no solution to remedy the possibility of killing my child in a crash. We cannot drive the car with our child full knowing of what could happen. VW has done nothing. And nothing in sight. We are very upset there are no answers. We knew of the recall since 6/16. We just took car in for a service and learned the severity of it all. We decided we want out of the car. The VW dealer we bought the car from would not offer us anything but auction price for our car as they cannot even resell it!! we cannot afford to buy a new car with negative equity on a car that has been recalled but they can't fix it!! we are very very upset and now we are playing russian roulette with our lives. We bought the car for its safety rating and now it's potentially the cars safety features that could kill my family. Takata and VW need to figure this out and now!!!

Takata recall. This recall is far too slow. It is a dangerous safety item, and it is more than a year that this problem has been well know. NHTSA must compel takata and the car manufacturers to increase production or outsourcing of the defective parts. There is no doubt that production could have been increased long ago if the parts were being sold at a profit. This is shameful on the part of NHTSA, takata and the automobile manufacturers.

Takata recall: When I was first notified of the recall around the beginning of the year, I made an appointment to have the recall fixeda few months later. When I arrived, nobody bothered to inform me the part was not available. This was maybe in May. Recently, I called VW of America about the safety concern. They said they would not buy the car back from me or swap it out for another car but gave no explanation. When I called cherry hill Volkswagen to ask why, if the car was so safe they would not buy it back from me, the salesperson was rude to me and claimed I knew what I was getting into when I bought the car. I am not sure what that means as I was unaware of the recall. I do not feel safe driving my children around in this car.

"takata recall" as the takata recall has been ongoing for sometime, my family car was officially recalled in February of 2016 - with the results of airbag rupture being "serious injury or death". to date (Dec. 16) there is not a remedy to this recall. I have been told by my local dealership as well as VW corporate, that they are working on a solution, but are not offering any form of alternate vehicle or compensation/payment relief. Unfortunately, I do not have a choice but to continue using this vehicle in hopes that we do not have an accident or a sudden rupture of the bag. I have also looked at the possibility of trading my vehicle in for a different vehicle, but I have been told that the dealership cannot sell my vehicle with open recall, so they are not willing to take it in on trade. Also, while dealers of other makes have been willing to take the trade, the value due to recall has decreased substantially to the point where I would have to pay an outrageous amount to get into another vehicle. VW needs to stand behind the vehicles and come up with a safe alternative for their customers.

Airbag light came on while turning the steering wheel. I looked up a similar issue on NHTSA website (15V483000 campaign) with a steering wheel clock spring issue for multiple VW vehicles. It listed 'some' 2014 Passat's as being affected. I took it to the dealer who stated that my VIN was not listed as being effected, however it has to given it is the same make/model as this NHTSA campaign. Please consider reviewing and expanding this recall. Vehicle is less than 3 years old and it is clearly the same issue.
