Upon contacting my local VW dealership, I was notified that the part is in stock; however, VW has placed me in "group 6" and that notwithstanding the part being available for my vehicle on the NHTSA website, VW has instructed the dealership to only repair cars in groups 1 through 4. I was told that I must wait until at least September, 2017, for the part to become available, which will be approximately 19 months since the initial recall. It is unacceptable that I have been driving an unsafe vehicle for such a lengthy period of time, and now that the part is available to fix my vehicle, I am not allowed to obtain the fix.
