Takata recall. Although I received the VW recall notice in April, 2016, they still claim that they do not have parts to fix this recall, and will not give me a date when I can expect this recall to be fixed. Since this is a serious safety issue, the lack of response by VW is very concerning to us.

Takata recall. Received letter April 2016 that driver's airbag might kill me in case of a crash. Spoke to lizbeth L. region case manager, 5/27/16 case #160498364. She sent me letter & follow up phone call. I wanted out of my lease because I can't go on a trip if I get in an accident. Received another call and E-mail 6/6/16. I was informed of a denial in my request. I was offered nothing for my safety such as a new car lease with proper air bag equipment. Acura dealer offered my friend a loaner car because of their recall. I got nothing!!! safety should be a priority & not wait for a driver to get killed before they do something for the consumer. There should be a class action suit. Thank you

Takata recall. Hi I received a letter in the mail about the takata recall. After describing the defect, it says there are not parts for this safety defect. I called VW and told them I'd like to turn the vehicle if they cannot repair it promptly. VW said they do not have parts and are not sure when they will have them. They submitted my request for a vehicle buy back for internal review and then denied it without explaining why. I requested a report outlining why they rejected my request and VW said they would not provide that information. I asked them to provide me with a written notice saying they would not provide me with the information related to my rejected claim, and they said they would not do that in writing. VW told me that my only option would be to "seek something outside of VW." The reps said that the cars are safe to drive and that I should not be concerned. I explained that I had read that 10 people have been killed and that I would like to avoid being number 11. They responded that I would have to wait until the warranty repair is made even though they have no idea when that will be. I have lost all faith in the car and the company. My confidence in this car is completely shaken and I am fearful of driving it. I would like to have them repurchase the vehicle or at least provide me with a safe rental car until they can replace the airbag. Your help in obtaining redress to this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Takata recall. I am in a 3 year VW Passat lease, and I currently have 16 months left. I am moving to the us virgin islands and wanted to purchase my vehicle. I called VW credit, they told me I must purchase my vehicle through my dealership. I went to the dealership who notified me of the takata airbag recall (said VW credit knew and should have notified me, but they failed to do so) and they could not purchase my vehicle nor could they help since there was no remedy for the recall. They offered me a new lease with a more expensive car, not one of equal or lesser value. I declined, the VW dealership told me to contact VW credit for resolution. I contacted VW credit who told me there was nothing they could do and I must call VW of America. I spoke with VW of America, explained my predicament and was assigned a case manager. I explained to the case manager that I was moving to the virgin islands and needed a new vehicle since the one I had was recalled and could not take my current leased vehicle to the usvi. They asked if I wanted to buy the vehicle I was leasing, I told them no, as it's unsafe, they said there was nothing they could do. I asked to be relieved of the vehicle, they told me they would not relieve me of my vehicle since I had not driven 36K miles or reached 3 years, there was no proof that the vehicle was unsafe as it is "still under warranty." I received a letter saying that I could go to mediation with the BBB since VW of America did not solve my problem. The BBB told me I was ineligible for their services because it was a recall & different conditions must be met. I am being forced to drive an unsafe vehicle or take a loss of over $4,000. Driving is unsafe, but I cannot afford to end my lease or pay the $4K payoff quote. I have 16 months left and bringing my vehicle to the usvi only puts me in more danger as the climate is humid - see NHTSA info.

Takata recall - I bought this vehicle for safety and I'm very disappointed that there is no fix or eta on one at this time. This is a breach of contract and I don't feel safe driving this vehicle anymore. A loaner program, at the very least, should be in place. This is appalling that no mind is paid to the safety of owners and VW just expects us to just sit back and wait for "another letter" but drivers can die if the airbag deploys.

I received a takata sii driver frontal airbag recall notice indicating the the driver airbag inflator could potentially rupture if the vehicle is involved in a crash which may result in serious injury or death. Vwoa does not have a solution or a replacement part for affected cars. I contacted my local dealership (santa barbara VW) and spoke to the service manager, steve ross about providing a loaner vehicle free of charge until the recall was resolved. The service manager refused to provide me a loaner and told me to call VW customer service. I spoke to eugene (5/18/16) @ VW customer service requesting a complimentary loaner (Honda is providing complimentary loaners) and he was not able to assist me. When I asked to provide evidence to support that the recalled takata airbag in my 2014 VW Passat was safe eugene at customer care was not able to confirm (asked him repeatedly) that the recalled airbag in my vehicle was safe even after I recited line by line, that the recall letter indicates that the takata airbag represents a safety hazard. I respectfully request that my local dealer provide me with a suitable loaner until this issue is rectified as it represents a clear and present safety hazard.

Takata recall. I was notified of the recall a couple of weeks ago. I am not able to drive my vehicle because of safety issues. Luther westside Volkswagen in St. Louis park, Minnesota, where I purchased the vehicle, can't fix the safety defect 'due to no parts.' I asked the dealer for a loaner car and was advised it wasn't available and was advised to call Volkswagen of America. I also will call the dealer's manager on Monday. When I purchased the VW, I traded in a Toyota because it had takata recalls on it. I purchased the 2014 VW because VW is known for its safety. I advised the VW dealer that I had not driven my Toyota in over a year because of air bag recalls and needed to get a new car because of the safety recalls. 6 months later, VW issued a recall. VW should have known not to use takata air bags in a 2014 model, as it appears issues have been ongoing with takata air bags for a good 10 years. The dealer did not mention that the same defective air bags were in the 2014 VW Passat. I need a different car without takata air bags or a loaner until the parts are available to fix the safety problem. My car was also inspected in Florida and I understand from the Toyota recall that vehicles that have been in Florida may have priority and I would like to get priority repairs.
