XC90 T8 Twin

  • Automatic transmission
  • 88,000 miles

I bought this vehicle on 23 Dec 2020 with a warranty. I have driven it 800 miles in the six months - being in strict lock-down as elderly and specially vulnerable to covid for other health reasons.

The car was driven to Volvo main dealer in Huddersfield on Thursday 24th June. The complaint was just that the 12v battery was going flat after being parked for a week or so. (Losing about 2 amps).

The car is STILL with Volvo today 30th July (Five weeks) They say it will not start and they cannot find the reason why. (It is under an RAC warranty which is scarcely worth the paper it would be written on if it wasn't digital.) I repeat, it has been with the Volvo dealer FIVE WEEKS and they CANNOT FIX IT! They can let me have a curtesy car but not until 20th August.

I have had Volvos for years. Traded in my cx60 and wife's v70 for this 'luxury' and found rain drips in from the top of the windscreen and have not even mentioned this to the dealers in view of the major concerns. The extremely limited electric mileage is bitterly disappointing. Worst decision I ever made as a car buyer.

low battery charge

This car was brand new. Error message appeared on the screen as we were picking up the car from the dealer. Dealer stated just a low battery from sitting on the boat. Did not accept this.

Car to the service centre and they found that the rear battery of the XC90 was faulty. They had no spare so had to pull a battery from one of the demo XC90s they had.
