So the issue is progressively getting worse. Did my research, pointed out to Volvo service that this engine has KNOWN issues by NUMEROUS customers yet Volvo is not recalling nor are they offering to help with the solution. Service recommended engine teardown to inspect/diagnose - OF COURSE TOTALLY AT MY COST or monitoring current situation and simply add more oil.
I thought Volvo was a dependable, reputable company.

This issue started occurring after a software issue performed at 79,600 miles. The software was upgraded because and airbag light came on. At the same time that the airbag light came on, I reported that a burning like smell and smoke came out of rear seat ventilation when car was stopped. Dealership could never duplicate the issue, though it happened more than one time while I was driving the vehicle.

OK, I was willing to try their suggestion since they said it had helped others with the oil consumption issue - but note here OTHERS ARE HAVING THE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE WITH THE SAME ENGINE.
Volvo, STAND BEHIND YOUR ENGINES - YOU KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR AND MODEL OF ENGINE!

This is a known problem with the Volvo xc90 T6, and I am looking for a class action lawsuit because I have had no luck with Volvo. I have been on all the Volvo car forums, looked for service bulletins, and have found a lot of bad stuff concerning the oil consumption. I have had the oil consumption test at a Volvo dealer and its BURNING 16 quarts per 10,000 miles. All the sensors have been replaced numerous times. This whole thing started while clearly under warranty. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

This car was sold to consumers with faulty oil ring from the factory. My car goes through a quart and a half of oil every 500 Miles. Local driving only. Dealer tries to deny everything about the class action suits over this known problem.
