- 2019 Jeep Rubicon: engine noise sounded like a diesel only it is gas (1 complaints) WELL took into dealer on 6/26/25 they told me the next day it needed a engine. However they forgot to turn into my extended warranty company until 7/3/2025. Finally got the engine ordered on 7/17/2025 only to be told that the motor should be delivered 2nd week in August, they only offer 3-5 days of rental? I recommend that when purchasing a vehicle always have a 2nd one sitting around and ready for warranty work. I will never own another Jeep/Dodge product in my life. $55,000 vehicle has been a complete piece of ... read more »
- 2019 Ford Edge: coolant intrusion (1 complaints) Bought my (used)2019 Ford Edge 2 years ago(June) from a dealership. Everything seemed to be great until it wasn't. A few days prior to the engine taking a dump I noticed a very slight lag during acceleration(hardly noticeable). No warning lights came on so I didn't think anything of it. I was leaving my job and my car wouldn't start. After a few attempts it finally turned over and I headed down the road. I began noticing a terrible odor filling the cabin and the car started sputtering. I stopped right there on the ... read more »
- 2015 Honda Odyssey: engine misfire cylinder 2 (2 complaints) This is a common problem with the Honda Odyssey van and it along with the solution are well-documented in the VCM Mega thread posted in the OdyClub forum at https://www.odyclub.com/threads/the-vcm-mega-thread.367894/. These vans will turn off some of the cylinders at high speed in order to improve fuel economy. This feature is known as Variable Cylinder Management (VCM). However, there is a design flaw in the piston rings which allows oil to bypass them and enter the cylinders. This leads to fouling of the spark ... read more »
- 2014 Chevrolet Malibu: stop/start feature is dangerous (3 complaints) The Start/Stop feature is a complete failure. I have been fighting with this issue for over 4 years. When I first got the car used, it ran perfectly and functioned great. After a couple years, this issue started happening. I have spent over $2k trying to fix the problem, and I haven't gotten anything more than what ended up being a short term fix. When the Start/Stop activates and shuts the engine down, it fails to restart when I let off the brake and go to press the gas. It then causes the car to not restart for ... read more »
- 2017 Ford Edge: coolant leak into cylinder (41 complaints) This problem was first discovered by the red engine light on. Took it to my ford dealer to see what was wrong. They said I had coolant in #4 cylinder. It had caused a problem and I would need replacement engine. I was told it would be approximately $8,500. Obviously I declined the repair. After a number of calls to the dealer and Ford, I found out that there was a technical service bulletin, #22-2229 that describes this problem. Ford had recalled some earlier problems but no recalls since this bulletin. I was told ... read more »
- 2017 Ford Escape: coolant in cylinder #2 (1 complaints) In 2020 I bought (2) pre-owned Ford Escapes for our 2 daughters, one now living in Eugene and the other in SF. One was a 2017 City of Seattle motor pool vehicle with just 4,000miles on it that my daughter in Eugene owns. The other was a 2018 lease return with 18,000 miles on it that the daughter in SF owns. Late in 2024, the 2018 began to act up. The check engine light came on and the car began to miss badly. It was repaired by a local SF shop, telling us that one of the spark plugs had failed. It ran fine out ... read more »

- 2018 Hyundai Sonata: oil consumption (7 complaints) For about 20k miles my engine has been burning or otherwise loosing oil. Before replacing a damaged oil pan (leaking drain plug hole) I was getting a low oil light after 1.5k miles, the engine is still loosing 1.5 qts. of oil, verified by the dealership, after completing a 1000 mile oil consumption test. I am currently choosing between paying the $9,500 the dealership is estimating a new engine and labor would cost or simply buying a new car. - 2020 Ford Fusion: cracked flex plate (1 complaints) The flex plate cracked and sounded like a piston was coming through the block. One shop told me I needed a new motor. I took it to the dealer and it was a cracked flex plate. If the car was made at a certain factory it was fully covered. Of course my car was not built in that certain factory so ford did absolutely nothing for me. After they fixed it, it happened again about a year later. The original cost for the 1st go around was $4,000. the second round it was only $2000 because the flex plate had cracked ... read more »

- 2017 Honda Accord: clear coat starting to go at rear window (1 complaints) At 89 K and always parked in the garage the clear coat should not be coming off the car. It's just starting right now and Honda does not want to nip it in the bud. I only want that one part fixed as the rest of the clearcoat looks good as of now. In fact I would split it with them but they do not want to fix what was obviously done incorrect at the factory. The only way it seems Honda will do anything is as if they were sued in a class action lawsuit. Honda has been making cars for a long time and you would think ... read more »
