- 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500: paint flakes off (4 complaints) I purchased this vehicle brand new in 2017. It’s a High Country Silverado. My paint started peeling back in 2020 and I took it to the dealer. They informed me that it was a manufacturing problem and to contact the company. The paint is not a normal peeling, it’s like there was something else in the paint and over the years it started getting worse. It’s bubbly in some spots and it’s just peeling in others. My wife is an employee of General Motors and talking to other co-workers they are having the same ... read more »
- 2013 Kia Optima: paint chips, scatches & marks easy (5 complaints) Paint is chipping on both window pillars. Pearl White color. It's not that old for paint to be chipping of in huge chunks. I'm afraid to wash my car cause more paint will chip off if I do. I don't think we should have to pay to have this repaired. This seems to be a ongoing defect with the paint. Please help in fixing this issue. Paid a lot of $$$ for it. And I see I'm not the only one have this same ... read more »

- 2013 Buick Regal: engine cut off while driving, no warning (1 complaints) I have a 2013 Buick Regal Turbo, and it has never given any issues at all other than the annoyance of being forced to have OnStar or lose your navigation features. Will post on that also. While leaving a merchant's lot, I backed out as normal pulled off and the car would not accelerate. I noticed that it had gone dead, so I pulled into a parking space and attempted to get it started back. No such luck, the engine turns over, fuel is being fed, battery is fine, however the car will not crank back up. It just turns ... read more »
- 2015 Jeep Cherokee: uconnect 911 failure due to 3g system (1 complaints) 3g went away and now the 911 button does not work and that is a safety issue - you cannot use the uconnect app to remote start or lock or unlock your car. Jeep says too bad, get a new Jeep. Some models have a update but NOT a 2015 Jeep Cherokee or the 2015 Chrysler 200 and there are other models and years. Why can't you get a update or a new radio or something so the 911 emergency button will ... read more »
- 2019 Subaru Forester: battery always dying (6 complaints) The car was dead when I tried to start it. I had the car jump started and drove to the dealership. - 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid: wheel is off center despite alignments (1 complaints) My Rav4 12v battery (NOT the hybrid battery) suddenly died over night. I'm certain nothing was left on - even accessories turn off after 20 minutes. When I finally got a charged battery, the steering wheel had to be held 10+ degrees left for the vehicle to go straight. The car did NOT do this before the battery died. But just in case, I took it into the dealership to be aligned. It didn't help. They replaced the steering rack. Didn't help. Literally the next day, only 20-30 minutes after driving it, the battery ... read more »
- 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid: battery dead (5 complaints) In January of 2022, I had taken a road trip from Atlanta to Colorado. While in CO, my Rav4's battery suddenly died. When I initially tried to start the car, the lights and gauge cluster flickered as it tried to start, but failed. I tried a few more times and it eventually died. After getting a freshly-charged battery, the steering seemed awfully uncalibrated (filed under a separate complaint). Now, months later and with no solution to the steering issue even after replacing the entire steering rack, the battery ... read more »
- 2012 Ram 1500: camshaft issue and lifter lock up (19 complaints) I had the famous Hemi tick twice. The first time it was due to the broken exhaust manifold bolt. It cost me about $1,500 for the repair (all costs in US$). A couple of years later at 172,000 kilometers I got the other Hemi tick. My mechanic diagnosed it as the camshaft and lifter failure issue. I was left with two options for the repair. One was work to get the camshaft and lifters out and replace them. About a $4,000 to $5,000 cost estimated. This option could not guarantee there was no additional damage lower ... read more »
- 2006 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx: temporary loss of power steering (3 complaints) I found my car on the internet, called the dealer in North Carolina, liked what I heard and proceeded to have the car transported to my home in Las Vegas, Nevada. The car was owned by a women who in 14 years put low mileage on it. I received a car fax that showed no major repairs or problems. Not long after me putting my own miles on the car, a bell sound would go off when going into first or second gear. If you started out a little faster from the start, the steering would lockup for a few seconds, which I found ... read more »
- 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500: paint peeling (3 complaints) It is irritating to look at your truck and see your paint peeling off like that, and every time I wash my truck and spray it with the water hose, it peels even more. read more »
- 2003 Nissan Pathfinder: death wobble (1 complaints) This death wobble is notorious in '03 Pathfinders. Once you hit 55+ mph, the car would violently go into a wobble and you must let off the gas and it would stop. Replacing the rear control arm bushings immediately fixed it. They are put on with 240 foot lbs of torque so use a 17mm ratchet to remove, not a 3/4 inch like I did, because you will strip it and it will become an all weekend project to remove the bolts. While you're at it, I would replace as many of the bushings as you can for a smooth ride. Even with ... read more »

- 2018 Honda Civic: trunk pops open spontaneously (1 complaints) My understanding is that this problem is quite common and most likely involves a faulty Body Control Module, or BCM. I intend to have CarMax fix it under their basic warranty coverage as we have only had the car a few weeks. Honda of America should meanwhile step up and replace these faulty units at no cost, as it is a safety/security ... read more »
- 2016 Jeep Wrangler: front end wobble - brakes unpredictable (1 complaints) 2016 Jeep JKU 78,000 miles is NOT driveable because front end wobbles and steering wheel vibrates. Increasing to 60 MPH stops the wobble. Had new tires installed and front end aligned - I thought it was fixed but then the problem became worse. I just got back home after a 20 mile drive and the shaking and wobbling was horrific. I did not feel safe in this vehicle. Upon returning home the right front wheel began smoking so I grabbed a fire extinguisher just in case. The right front wheel was extremely hot to the ... read more »
