- 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix: stalling at start (3 complaints) Scanner said MAP sensor. Map sensor sits on top of engine. Very, very easy to change. Bought from Amazon $9. (might as well buy two.) Had a little bit of rigging because the connector is aged. read more »
- 2021 Cadillac CT5: exterior door handles faulty (1 complaints) The exterior door handles are controlled electronically to open the door (interior opener is mechanical). The switch in these door handles fail quite often. The failure of the switch prevents the door from opening from the outside. This is a safety issue! If you have the car running and close the door you will not be able to open the door unless you have the key fob and use the emergency key on the driver's door. If your key fob was in the car, then your pretty much screwed and have to work the handle and hope you ... read more »
- 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan: broken wires in steering column (2 complaints) Suddenly, while I was turning the car, I heard a loud snap. Steering wheel started to make horrible cracking sounds. All digital readouts vanished, air bag light on. Very frightening. Took a very long time to fix and cost 1,300.00 Will file another separate complaint, but 13 months later it happened again. And parts were not covered under warranty. A COSTLY AND FRIGHTENEING EXPERIENCE. The first time this happened I had less than 50,00 miles on my 2016 Tiguan. Second time ... read more »
- 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan: broken wires in steering column (2 complaints) Second time wires broke in steering column. Same results. Steering wheel making loud crackig sounds when turning. - 2024 Nissan Rogue: winds + nature unable to keep vehicle in straight line (1 complaints) I have owned many vehicles over the years and started at a young age. A friend Stan and I use to go up river to fish along with his father. His father would get drunk and pass out in the back seat of his Volkswagen. Stan would be on his knees on the seat steering and changing gears. I was on the floor pushing on the gas pedal, push down on the clutch when Stan said change gears. We had 50 miles to go to get back home and we did encounter any problems. The 2024 Nissan Rogue we purchased is the worst vehicle we ... read more »
- 2018 GMC Yukon: fuel injector wiring harness failure (1 complaints) For a car with less than 140,000 miles, that is also less than 8 years old...having the sheathing around the fuel injector wires completely fail is a gigantic red flag for the state of GM. Failing harness was caught early in my case, causing only random misfires, and did not cause major drivability issues or safety concerns, but I can imagine what others have or will go through because of terrible design quality at GM. Only fix is to replace it with another GM harness that will need to be replaced in another 5-7 ... read more »
- 2023 Nissan Altima: terrible back up camera - night time especially (1 complaints) We bought this car with 24 miles. We didn't test drive it at night so the night time camera issue wasn't immediate. When we did start driving it at night we discovered real quick on how terrible the display was for the back up camera. My wife brought up the issue when she took it in for an oil change. The service guy went out on the lot and brought over another Altima. The display quality was the same. That was his "solution". They just suck!! My wife primarily drives it and doesn't typically drive at night so ... read more »
- 2013 BMW X3: broken timing chain guide (14 complaints) The timing chain broke and destroyed the engine. I heard there was a class action law suite regarding a timing chain issue. Why wasn't I informed of this issue before my BMW X3 exceeded the 100,000 mile coverage? Unacceptable. I had 2 different BMW auto repair facilities. They both gave me a 30,000 dollar estimate to replace the engine and timing ... read more »
- 2015 Dodge Durango: rack & pinion failure (1 complaints) Replacing the rack & pinion 10k miles after warranty expires. My 2015 Dodge Durango is the second Durango I've driven. First I had a 2013 that I had to trade in because the engine was basically breaking itself down. I had to replace the Rack and Pinion on the 2013 RIGHT before the warranty expired. Here I am on the 2015 having to replace the SAME THING 13,000 AFTER the warranty expires. This is obviously a consistent problem with Durangos. As it's happened on both my cars right at or just after the expiration ... read more »
- 2019 Subaru Forester: all of the electrical safety features go haywire (3 complaints) The car is dangerous. I had a warranty with Car Shield. I took it to the dealership and had it looked at because all the instruments and hazard indicators were going crazy after I turned the car off. The car eventually would not shut off even with the car turned off. The dealer determined that I had three different wiring harnesses had broken wires plus the carpet got wet somehow even though the car stayed in a garage. Car shield denied my claim because water had got into the car somehow. WATER DOES NOT BREAK ... read more »
- 2018 Lexus RX 450HL: nasty metal-on-metal scrape from brakes (1 complaints) My 2018 RX 450h (GYL25) makes a sharp, metallic scrape every time I press the brake lightly at the very end of a stop or while inching forward. It’s repeatable below about 5 km/h and gets LOUD whenever the outside temperature is under 5-20 °C; above 20 °C it almost disappears. The sound comes straight from the ABS/ECB modulator (part # 44510-48080) – confirmed with Techstream logs and a chassis-ear mic. The pump/accumulator (# 47070-48080) is fine: 16-17 MPa, 4-5 pedal presses per cycle, zero DTCs. Lexus ... read more »

- 2018 Ford Escape: coolant in engine oil (1 complaints) Technician found coolant in the oil during an oil change. Took vehicle to dealer for second opinion. Recommendation is for engine replacement to the tune of $11,000 or more. The car might be worth $8000. I was hoping to drive this care for 200,000 miles. The coolant intrusion in the engine is so pervasive and common with multiple ford models. It is especially common for 1.5L engines. There are a few class action suits filed due to this issue. This will be my last ... read more »
- 2018 Toyota Camry: transmission failure (6 complaints) I’ve always trusted Toyota for reliability, but my recent experience with their transmission has been a nightmare. I bought a new car 2018 Camry. Which gave me 5 year warranty/60000km . After 5 year and relatively low mileage ( 62000 km), my car started having serious transmission problems and suddenly its failed on the road. I towed it to the dealership and they diagnosed my car with transmission failure and need to replace it, which will cost me over 8k. I called the Toyota where I purchased my car and she ... read more »
