Below is a list of the most recently reported car problems & complaints.
- 2015 Toyota Sequoia: front driver's side door actuator (1 complaints) The door actuator went out on the driver's side. Both your remote and your locking system in the car will not work and you will have to manually switch the locks to off on doors where the actuator has gone out. I previously paid Toyota $400 to replace the actuator on a 4Runner a decade ago, I am guessing they would be charging closer to $600 to perform the same job now. However, I would suggest you look up videos online and perform the repair yourself. The OEM part is only $40 after tax and the job is very easy to ... read more »
- 2015 Toyota Sequoia: rear window regulator failure (1 complaints) The rear window regulator went out. Due to the design of the car, that part will rust out due to over exposure to moisture. Given, I also live in the midwest, so this may affect my particular truck more than most. Your window will go down and never back up. The dealer will quote you at $1,300, while an independent dealer will charge you around ... read more »

- 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500: it was running hot (2 complaints) This was a big issue. The coolant smell came through the vents of the truck. I was sick for a few days. In my opinion, if the dealership shop would have done what I asked, which was to do a pressure check, to see where the leak was coming from, this would not have ... read more »
- 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500: burning smell when in awd mode (2 complaints) I use my truck to work, no truck no work. What sense is there to have a warranty on your vehicle, and you still have to come out of pocket paying hundreds of dollars. I have Car Shield, so far, I have paid over $1,500. My truck was in the shop over 3 times, and I still have an issue. Now my transmission is an ... read more »

- 2025 Buick Encore GX: lane assist (1 complaints) I had just drove the car off the lot. On my way home there is this violent grip of the steering wheel pulling me into oncoming traffic. Then again to the right towards a telephone pole. During another casual drive, there was a loud clunk and another violent grip of the steering wheel to the left towards the yellow line. This has happened numerous times. I explained to the dealer that lane assist is suppose to keep you on the road not pull of you off. Unfortunately this happens randomly so it did not happen when ... read more »
- 2022 Kia Soul: rodents chewing soy based wires (3 complaints) I own a 2022 Kia Soul that has repeatedly suffered damage from squirrels chewing through the wiring. The first incident occurred on 3/6/25, resulting in nearly $4,500 in repair costs. Although my insurance covered most of it, I still had to pay the deductible. The same issue occurred again on 5/6/25, and filing a second claim in such a short period could further increase my insurance rates or affect my coverage. After the second incident, I learned from online forums and technicians that Kia uses soy-based ... read more »

- 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 2500: high pressure fuel pump faied (2 complaints) There is already a class action lawsuit for this problem in other states - but NOT for us that live in Oregon. Other people are, have, or will have reimbursement for this huge cost. GM should have had a recall for this issue in ALL states for the 2011-2016 vehicles affected. My wife and I are retired and on fixed income. We are stressed as to how we will afford this cost. This is our main vehicle that we were hoping to use until we passed ... read more »

- 2017 Ford Fusion: coolant leak into the cylinders (11 complaints) My 2017 Ford Fusion broke down while I was out of state visiting family. On my return trip, the car began to shake when trying to accelerate. Tried to have a local mechanic in Pennsylvania repair it. The code said that Ignition coil 1 and 4 were misfiring. After replacing all the ignition coils and all the spark plugs the problem was not fixed. Since it was not safe to drive I had to have it trailered home from Pittsburgh, PA to Detroit. Took it to my dealership. After having it a full day I was told it could not ... read more »
- 2012 Honda Fit: spark plug comes out of thread, misfire (1 complaints) Spark plug loosens up and comes out of it's thread due to the thread itself. Causes a misfire. Car sounds slightly more clicky than usual and can throw a code. You might be able to retighten it to solve it, but it may come loose again. If so, you'll have to rethread the spark plug hole in the head itself. Generally cheap if you know how to fix it ... read more »
- 2012 Honda Fit: doors keep trying to lock while parked (1 complaints) Doors keep trying to lock while car is parked and off. Will keep doing it through the night. You can hear it. Possibly a shorted wire. Haven't got it fixed. Probably somewhat expensive. Locks have worn out due to it contantly trying to actuate them so now you have to manually click all door locks to lock them, key fob doesn't do anything beside lock/unlock the trunk. Inconvientant and slightly annoying but basically just led to having to make sure I manually click the door locks to ensure the car is ... read more »

Fixed and and has been good since. Otherwise a very reliable ... read more »
- 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500: engine failure (1 complaints) engine failure at 72,400 miles I purchased my Silverado in May 2019 from Pineland Chevrolet in NJ. It ran fine and never had a problem. With about 44000 miles, the engine started a light "tapping" noise. I took it directly to the local Chevrolet dealer "Gettle" in Punta Gorda Florida 33950. They showed me the rollers on the lifters that were deteriorating. They replaced the faulty parts under warranty. Prior to this, and after, I had religiously changed the oil and filters every 5-6000 miles since first buying ... read more »
