Ram 1500

  • 198,000 miles
Several times while I have been driving on a highway or busy road and the engine gets to normal operating temperature, the engine stalls and shuts off. Then I have to maneuver it to the side of the road and let it cool off approximately 15 minutes and then it cranks back up and I can drive 5 minutes and it does the same thing again, very dangerous.

Ram 1500

  • 145,000 miles
I have the same issue as thousands of others with the dash falling apart, this incident happened when the bezel just fell off of the dash onto the steering wheel while traveling down a busy highway. I had to try and steer with one hand while using the other to dislodge the bezel and hold it away from the steering wheel until I could safely pull over to the shoulder of the road. Since then my glove box has fallen off along with the drink holder. I am also concerned that if I am involved in an accident where the air bags may be deployed that the passenger side airbag will cause the dash to explode and send plastic schrapnel inside the cab. This could cause serious damage or death for the passenger and\or driver.

Ram 1500 8-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 75,000 miles
The contact owns a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle accelerated automatically while driving at speeds of 35 or 70 mph. Weather and speed were not factors. Also, when she depressed the brake pedal the vehicle continued to roll before it completely stopped. There was safety recall # 06E024000 concerning engine and engine cooling. However, this vehicle was excluded due to the VIN. The current mileage is 93,000, and failure mileage was 75,000. The consumer stated that the vehicle surges not only between the speeds of 35 to 75 but also while in park. The consumer stated she understands that the VIN was not included in the recall it seems too coincidental that it is exhibiting the same problems. The consumer stated unsafe due to the fact of a possible accident with this defect. Updated 07/06/07
