The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal went to the floorboard with an abnormal whining sound coming from the brake pedal without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed with a defective brake booster. Upon investigation, the mechanic discovered Technical Service Bulletin: 13N02 (Brake Booster) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the bulletin but offered no assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 143,000.
