Driver door ajar notification, dome lights and mirror lights stay on. Comes on when driving. Dont always know if the door is closed properly or not. Took it to dealer they temporily stopped it, then it started again.

The drivers door ajar light stays on 90% of the time while driving down the road. When you shut the vehicle off and even if you remove the keys the lights all remain on as if you had the doors open and run the battery dead, only shows drivers door, all other door sensors are fine! I am an avid Ford owner but I see so many others having the same issue, I hope to see a recall to fix this problem or our next vehicle might not be a Ford!

One day while driving the door ajar alert came on the dashboard. When I could do so, I opened and closed the door. The alert remained on. Took it to the Ford dealership to have it looked at and they said it's the door ajar latch assembly has failed and that it's a common problem. It could be fixed for $500. I said no thank you. It would take me 5+ time of slamming the door closed to get the alert to go off. Once I would get the alert off, I would access my car via the passenger side. Eventually that has stopping working and the door ajar alert is on constantly. While driving, this brings up a "shift to park" alert every time I can to a stop. In addition to that, now while driving and I lock the doors from inside the car, they lock and then immediately unlock. All 4 doors. Furious with all the problems and Ford has done nothing about it.

After numerous times (20+) of opening and closing the door, it will sometimes finally close to stop showing ajar and lights will turn off. In my opinion, this is a safety hazard if driving at night as I've experienced already once with my door not willing to close properly at night, and having to drive with all dome lights on (huge issue). Went to a Ford dealer that says they will run a diagnostics test to see what's wrong, but there are hundreds if not thousands of complaints already on-line of people having the same issue and this still hasn't been addressed by Ford for a recall. Many are saying the costs are from $250-$500 for repairs to get it fixed. For a 2 year old car, this should not be happening!

Driver door sensor does not sense the door is closed. This prevents the over head dome light from shutting off, which at night making it hard to see out the front windshield. The door locks also will not stay locked even if you manually push down the indicator. This allows my children to open the rear doors as we drive down the street. I was told twice now that this is not a safety issue and nothing is broken, so it isnt covered under warranty or a recall.

We were on our way to Texas from Missouri. As we were traveling South on I35 a warning light came on the dash stating that the driver's door was ajar when it appeared to be shut. It then told us to shift to park and shut the door. We pulled over on I35 thinking it was something that we needed to do for safety reasons. My wife got out of the vehicle and was almost hit by a car at highway speeds. After shutting the door several times the warning light would not go off as well as the dome light. Because of the issue the doors would not lock and the alarm would not arm itself. I have been a local police officer for kcpd for 14 years and have seen far too many accidents because of people pulling over on a highway. This issue needs to be addressed and fixed on all Ford vehicles. After our trip I reserched this issue online and apparently its happening on several different Ford models. I saw complaint after complaint by people who were Ford owners.
