While driving on Saturday, June 29, 2019, my car suddenly started hesitating when changing gears. The longer I drove, the more it shook, and accelerated but did not go into gear or move at all. Eventually it went into gear and took off. I managed to reach my destination and let it sit for a while, the headed home. The longer I drove, all of the above happened again. I drove it very sparingly for the next week until I was able to get the money to have it repaired. It is currently in the shop. Today I happened to come across this website and found multiple complaints from people experiencing the same problems. Is anything being done to address this issue?

Mid-day, 91 degrees. Car shuddered reversing out of the driveway. No previous problems. I waited and car idled well. I left the neighborhood and turned left into traffic on a five-lane road. I lost acceleration merging from the center turning lane. The vehicle revved, getting fuel, but there was no forward movement, no shuddering, nothing. I moved the vehicle into "sport" mode, in case I had bumped the selector, but it made no difference. Traffic honked and swerved around me. I was able to get into the right lane with my hazard lights on. My car shuddered off, completely and I lost power steering just as I completed the maneuver. I restarted my vehicle and the vehicle shuddered to a side-street, where I idled for five minutes and called for assistance. Assistance was going to take a long time and I suffer from a medical condition that makes me fragile in the heat. I tested the vehicle on the side streets and it performed. I was able to get the vehicle home slowly.

When on an incline or at low speeds like coming stop a stop light or sign, I push the gas pedal, the car revs up to 5 and 6 but barely moves. All of a sudden it will take off and jump into gear really harshly. At times it will slip out of gear and go super slow while in traffic. I feel like I may get hit at some point from behind. This happens coming from a stopped position, it happens at slow speeds, it slows down at 35/40mph, it happens while turning corners. I have not experienced it on the highway. It seems once I reach highway speeds it works properly. I have a transmission fault notification on the dashboard.

My transmission has totally failed at 105241 miles. In the past, the motor head blew with the overheating recall, and Ford gave me a new eengine (despite saying new I found out it was remanufactured) at 45000 miles. The found coolant in the cylinders. It continued to have clouds of white smoke when first started up, after numerous times at dealer, they finally replaced the turbo at 86000. White smoke was still occurring but not as severe. It was towed to a local mechanic who said the transmission fluid was muddy, black. He felt they should have replaced the tranny with the motor damage. Ford cus ser rep and supervisors do not know the criteria for inclusion in powertrain recall. They say it is not in the recall by the VIN number. My car has the 6 sp auto tranny and the production date is included. They can't tell me why mine is not included.

I am the original owner and have had all maintenance performed at the dealership. For about a year my car has had an issue where it hesitates when I accelerate. The dealership would blow out the mass air flow then the car would run fine for 2 or 3 months then the problem would start over. On May 8 while driving in town it started hesitating when I would accelerate and the shifting progressively got rougher. Then when trying to drive forward from a red light the engine would rev but the car would not move. The dealership says there is metal debris stopping up the filter and that it could be the clutches or some other part of my transmission coming apart. I'm told my transmission needs to be rebuilt.

I believe there is an inherent problem with Ford transmissions. My 2013 Escape began having problems at approx 100K. I also have family with Ford transmissions issues. Same skipping problem. My cousins has had to be repaired twice, once under 100K. And now just over 100K. I contacted Ford and was given the run around for several weeks. Then was told they would provide minimal financial support if I replaced my transmissions. I had also purchased the extended warranty that had expired at 100K. I took the car in at 106K. Fords cost was still 1000S above any other transmission shop. I will not purchase a Ford again

I start the car and nothing seams wrong it idles correctly and temperatures stay good. Once I put the car on drive and go over 10mph I get the first warning that coolant is low. If I ignore tha and try to go above 15 mph I get a second warning for high engine temperature. After that the car stalls and it won't go back to normal until I park. Turn off the car. Restart. And it will stay normal until I start driving again.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. While the vehicle was in reverse, it failed to shift out of gear. The contact had to move the gear shifter back and forth to shift out of reverse and into park. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing because it could not be driven. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

I have owned my 2013 Escape for approx. 4.5 years. I bought it with approx. 40K miles and it is now at 80K. For the last 6 to 9 months it has been acting as though it will stall, the rpms will drop, the car will shudder then recover most of the time. It has actually shut off twice, once in a parking space while idling and the other at a stop light while idling. The places the stall issue seems to occur the most is at stop light, idling in parking spaces, sitting in drive throughs, etc. It has bucked several times while driving but has managed to recover without losing too much speed or without shutting off. I have taken it to several mechanics and dealerships, no one can find the reason for the "stalling". yesterday, when coming out of work in flat parking lot, instead of stalling the vehicle jerked once when I put it into drive and then there was no power when I pushed the gas to drive forward. The vehicle inched forward but did nothing else. I then put it in reverse and the same thing occurred. I turned off the vehicle, let it sit for about 5 minutes, restarted it and drove it without issue to the dealership. The dealership called me today and said the transmission needs work. I have yet to find out what this "work" entails but from reading all the entries, recalls, and investigations this sounds like the same issues other people are having with their Escapes.

Cars transmission failed with only 33,000 miles on the car! I think there is an electrical problem with the car because the battery and the internal components failed at the same time! both times I was driving the car and moving forward when the car stalled out both times, the second time I had just left Ford with the vehicle and they said it was fixed when it stalled out again in forward motion, this time I had the car towed back to Ford and it's been sitting there since April 13th and today is May 1st and Ford has not responded back to me to resolve the issues with the car" I had the car towed to a transmission place on 4/30/2019 that is only charging me $3,100 for a rebuilt transmission with a 2 year 24,000 mile warranty and Ford wanted $7,400 to put a rebuilt transmission in the car? hmmmmm what would you do? customer service at Ford is sloooooow to say the least? it's bad enough I've got a car with only 33,000 miles on it and with an internal transmission issue and than Ford wants me to wait until when to respond back with a solution"

After pulling into a parking lot and putting my 2013 Ford Escape in park, the car continued to move forward. Prior to having this occuring, when I pulled into a parking spot with the car in drive position, when I put the car in reverse to backup, the car gave a hard jerk before the car actually moved backward. Since this has occurred, the car has a hard jerk before able to backup about every 3 times I put the car in reverse.

As I was driving down local roads my engine was making S sound as if a fan was running on high speed and I could feel the engine losing power. After about 2 miles a message appeared on the screen that said transmission failure. I pulled into a parking lot and had to have it towed. I had it towed to a local repair shop and was told it needed a new transmission.
