I was opening the front driver-??s side door, the door failed to open completely. I had to forcefully pull the door handle for the door to open and heard a loud clicking noise. Took car to dealer and became aware that the latch was welded incorrectly and welded area broke. The dealer stated that the front driver-??s side door needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired because the door cost is $2,500 and my warranty had just expired 4-30-23. I called Ford customer service to tell them the door check broke out of door to see if they had some assistance for the cost. They said they did not. The failure mileage was 32,100. You can see with the pictures attached the right front door bracket is not broke and the Drivers side front door bracket is broke with three welding holes that broke off the bracket. The bracket cost $47 to $50, but they say the whole door needs to be replaced. $2500 cost is not fair to a owner when a small part breaks with the only fix and whole new door. If all four of my doors break soon the cost would be $10,000. This needs to be considered a RECALL so Ford can fix and bare the cost for a part that has gone bad and there are many complaints on this same issue. Thanks for looking into it.

I opened the driver side door after returning home and heard some kind of popping sound, kind of like something in the door was catching on something else and then I opened the door more to see three holes on the door near the middle hinge. I opened the door all the way to get out and am now unable to close the door because the hinge is completely broken. I googled it and have seen other people have this same issue from only opening the door. I have no idea how to even close the door.

I have a 2020 Ford Escape SEL edition. Purchased new from dealership in 2021. It was approx 720pm on Thursday 4/13/23. I was driving in Orlando. It was clear weather. No cars were around me and I did not go under an overpass. All of a sudden, I heard a big explosion sound, like a gun shot. I immediately pulled over and took photos and a video of the giant hole in the moon roof. There was no evidence of a strike. On Friday, I took the vehicle to safelite and they said they don-??t do repairs but they vacuumed out the glass, said they did not see any foreign object and put a crash wrap over it to protect from elements until I could figure out what to do. The vehicle has 35,000 miles on it. I took to a Ford Service Body Shop to have it repaired under warranty. Ford denied my claim, but never contacted me for questions. This defect should be covered under warranty as it was a simultaneous occurrence with no apparent reason for the explosion. I have previously taken the vehicle to at least two different dealerships the first time one month after I purchased the vehicle. for a total of three occasions concerned about weird thumping/flapping sound coming from the roof of the vehicle since I-??ve purchased the vehicle. Each time, the mechanics said they couldn-??t find anything wrong and didn-??t hear the sound. Now this has happened. I-??m lucky it didn-??t cause me to wreck and to that, I-??m glad my young daughter was not in the vehicle and that the sun shade was closed otherwise I would have had glass all over me. There was no other warning this would happen and it's a serious danger/risk to drivers.

I contacted the Ted Russell Dealership in Knoxville Tennessee in regards to a recall. I was informed that Ford was no longer sending our parts and that the dealership would not do the repair. I asked if they would be receiving parts and they said they didn-??t know. I was frustrated to find I was suppose to just keep the recall. I called another dealership who was much more helpful and said that was no true.

Hello, The safety problem that I discovered in the car is as follows When I start the car with me "remote-start"and sit on the driver's seat, I can start the car by pressing the start button without first pressing the foot brake. I mean, if the person was operating the car with the remote control, and there were children in the car, and the children pressed the start button, the car would be completed, and the children might be exposed to danger. What is unique is that it is correct in all cases to start the car with the remote control or from the inside using the usual way. You must press the foot brake first! I have peace and confirmation that the driver of the car is an adult and can connect his feet to the foot brakes. In this problem the operation is done without the foot brake. Only when running through the remote. As for operating from the inside, there are no problems. Once again, the problem is when turning on first with the remote. Ford customer service, agreeed that issuse has to be reported to your devision to test it out. Thank you,

I purchased this car brand new in July of 2020. In the Fall of 2022 the driver side door started making a popping sound when opening and closing and wouldn't close properly. At this point the window started not going down all the way. I took it in to the dealership and was told that the regulator would have to be replaced. They ordered the part and when it came in they replaced it but they discovered that the welds on the bracket holding the check strap to the inside of the door had come detached and the track had become bent and was actually keeping the window from going down. They said that it could not be repaired and the whole door would have to be replaced. To me this sounds like a factory defect and Ford should be responsible for 100% of this replacement. I was outside of my factory warranty so I would be out of pocket for the replacement. The service advisor reached out to Ford to ask what they could do. Ford offered to cover a portion of the expense but still left me with an out of pocket amount that I can't afford to pay. This car was barely 2 years old when this happened and this should not be happening under normal use. The dealership riveted the bracket back to the inside of the door and it's a temporary fix but the window still doesn't go down. It is a major inconvenience and I'm concerned if in an emergency I won't be able to get my window down. I'm paying good money for a new car and should not be having this issue. FORD YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE AND YOU SHOULD PAY FOR THIS REPLACEMENT! I'VE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VERY SAME ISSUE.

Driver door check arm attachment point (black door hinge) snapped from manufactured spot weld to frame of door. Ford Dealer stated my Escape was the 3rd one that month with the same problem. Mechanic said the hinge was not welded properly at the bottom spot weld by manufacturer and that I should call Ford and NHTSA to see why my 2020 Ford Espace S 1.5 AWD isn't covered under the Recall ID # 10201603 as it is a Ford Escape between 2020 and 2021. The spot welds on the driver side door where the arm connects the door to the car broke. My window, locks, and side keypad now malfunction. In addition, my battery drains at night. I have taken my car to the dealership service center and body shop/collision center. My door will have to be replaced. There were no warning messages or symptoms prior to the spot welds breaking. The door doesn't properly open or close and fingers could get slammed when it closes on it's own.

On June7th I was driving home in my 2020 hybrid escape when the motor quit and the car came to a stop, then smoke started coming out from under the hood, I opened the hood and flames shot out at the back side of the motor on the passenger side, oil was leaking on to the road and on fire, I called the fire department, when they got there all the fire finally went out as the oil burned up. I had the car towed that day to Purchase ford in Mayfield KY. where it is still at. At first I was told this would be a warranty covered job, the car had 37500 miles, the power train and motor are good for 60,000 miles. It was apparent this would take a long time to fix, and I told Ford I did not want the car back as it would be depleted in value with a history of a fire, In July I got a recall 22V484 for the very reason my car caught on fire. Come to find out the motor failed and thru a rod and a hole in the block let the oil leak out and catch on fire. I asked for a loaner but they did not have one, I rented a car and Ford finally paid for most of it but I'm still out $500, I have returned the rental car. I have made five months of payment on this car without having it. At first Ford said they would do a buy back, then they emailed me saying this was denied due to KY. guidelines? I also asked for another car of equal value and that will not happen. Finally Ford told me to accept the repairs on my car and take it back or they were closing my case. My case # is [XXX], my contact was customer service rep. [XXX]. The car has a value of about $25000 if it had not caught on fire. I feel Ford should reimburse me for my payments or give me another car of equal value or make up the difference I will lose if I take the car back. I also think they should provide me a loaner while my car is being fixed. Thank You [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape. The contact stated that upon opening the front driver's side door, the track arm of the door failed to catch, causing the contact to hold the door by the door handle. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle had to be repaired out-of-pocket as the vehicle was out of warranty. The contact referenced Ford Technical Service Bulletin Number: 10184651. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

Windows operating intermittently. Repeatedly the dashboard flashes "Cross Traffic System Fault", "Blind Spot System Fault", "Blind Spot Left/Right Sensor Fault" occasionally "Cannot Access Memory While Driving". The lower center display panel on the instrument panel goes completely BLACK, and one cannot operate the defroster or air conditioner. The problem occurs intermittently, but when it starts it is more or less continuous for long periods of time. Ford (DeMontrond Ford) has now worked on the problem at least seven times, but safety issues do not stay fixed. Date below is when most recent series of issues occurred.
