Some 2020-2021 Escape vehicles may exhibit cracks or broken spot welds in the left front door at the check arm attachment point in the door assembly. My door started making a lot of noise when opening it and closing it. Now I can only open my door to a certain degree and and cannot open it all of the way. My window now is not working properly so I can't open it without it getting stuck halfway down. Is very hard to close the window.

Service engine soon light is on due to the injector problem that has been recalled, but has not been fixed yet, because the dealer has not received the parts yet. Service engine soon light is also throwing a code for the catylitic converter and it-??s causing the vehicle to run and shift poorly and getting worse fuel economy because of this issue. I have always bought Fords and I-??m very dissatisfied with the problems I-??ve encountered since I-??ve purchased this vehicle. Back in March my door started making a popping noise. As time went on the weld spots broke which then led to me not being able use my car door window or lock the doors as the fuse keeps blowing due to the parts that are broken. My door also doesn-??t latch completely and I don-??t feel safe.

On May 30th my driver's side door hinge broke and arm fell inside the door, my Ford dealership ordered new door, due to not being able to make repairs, still waiting on 1st door, then on June 27th the passenger front door did the same exact thing, only this time door would not close, had to go to dealership while my wife had to hold door because it was open, we are both elderly and this is dangerous. I contacted Ford relations and because I am barely over the 36,000 miles they said they cannot repair either of the doors..please help..there needs to be a recall under this. I see alot of people filing complaints. Look under SSM50150, THIS IS AN ONGOING, very dangerous problem. Ford needs to be responsible!! It is a flaw in manufacturing, how this happened to both doors within a month of each other..please help.

My front left drivers side door wouldnt close, I noticed the spot welds holding the door strap component in place had broke free and was now being pushed into the door shell. I took my car to the dealership and they said it is not covered. I have since looked on line, on how to repair this defect and see this is a known issue to the make and model year of my vehicle.

At about 30,000k miles, began to hear a creak/pop sound when opening and closing the front d/s door. This past weekend, at about 30,075 miles, there was a loud noise when opening and closing the door, and noted that 3 spot welds appear to have popped and pulled through the sheet metal. These held the safety 'check arm' in place inside the door. In researching the matter, I located that you already have this noted (SSM 50150) on vehicles with high usage profiles. I am a regular driver. This is NOT a fleet vehicle. I'm lucky in that the car is under warranty and will hopefully be repaired with zero costs, HOWEVER, this is nothing that any Ford Escape owner should have to deal with, at all, through the LIFE of the vehicle. Furthermore, the same spot welds and check arm apparatus appears to be used on the other car doors, so my guess is that this too can pose an issue. Ford should honor these repairs well beyond any bumper to bumper warranty period, as well as disclose IF the replacement door is using an improved weld or fastening system. ***!!! THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE because without the arm check functioning properly the door can fly into passing or oncoming traffic unexpectedly, causing injury to the driver of the Escape and/or any oncoming vehicle that slams into said failing door assembly which could result in the loss of control of their vehicle!!! *** My car is in the shop now where I hope this will be part of a covered claim to document. Apparently, I may have to wait months for new front door assembly.

AWD Module Failure and needs to be replaced. Service lights came on, and awd was disabled, pre-collision was disabled, and hill-start assist was not available. I looked this up, and al ot of people have had the same problem. The vehicle was just outside the warranty (37,688) and cost over $1100 to repair. AWD should be considered to be in the Powertrain warranty that is still active.

Vehicle would not shift out of park from a cold start. Dial shifter would not rotate. Vehicle could start but could not be driven. Problem has not been confirmed by dealer or independent service center. There were no warnings. Vehicle had been sitting in the sun in a parking lot on an 89 degree day for two hours. Cooling the vehicle cabin with A/C for 1/2 hour allowed the dial shifter to operate.

Door guide hinge failed where the guide hinge is "welded" (glued) to the internal frame of the door, causing the door to sometimes not to close, window to stop lowering, and inoperable lock. Shockingly not covered under warranty

The "spot weld" on the drivers side door failed not allowing the drivers side door to open or close. This problem is occuring on both the Ford edge and Ford Escape according to jarrett's repair people. Mine is a 2020 Escape and cannot be repaired. Ford will not allow it, and will only fix it if it falls under the 3 yr, 36000 part of the warranty. Mine is outside of the 36 month warranty and they want to bill me over $2000 to repair it by buying a new door, not acceptable. This is a manufacturer defect and Ford should fix it, welds should not fail.

I have been the only driver/owner since May of 2020. Vehicle has not been in any type of accident. 2020 Ford Escape has approximately 18,000 miles. I did purchase (bumper to bumper) warranty. Vehicle is scheduled for service on July 10, 2023. Ford dealerships are understaffed and can only service vehicles on urgency of issue or issues. July date was soonest and was from the 3rd Ford dealership I called. Issues started on May 13, 2023. I was opening the front driver-??s side door, the door failed to open completely. I had to forcefully pull the door handle for the door to open and heard a loud clicking noise. Took car to dealer and became aware that the latch was welded incorrectly and welded area broke. The dealer stated that the front driver-??s side door needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired because the door cost is $2,500 and my warranty had just expired 4-30-23. I called Ford customer service to tell them the door check broke out of door to see if they had some assistance for the cost. They said they did not. The failure mileage was 32,100. You can see with the pictures attached the right front door bracket is not broke and the Drivers side front door bracket is broke with three welding holes that broke off the bracket. The bracket cost $47 to $50, but they say the whole door needs to be replaced. $2500 cost is not fair to a owner when a small part breaks with the only fix and whole new door. If all four of my doors break soon the cost would be $10,000. This needs to be considered a RECALL so Ford can fix and bare the cost for a part that has gone bad and there are many complaints on this same issue. Thanks for looking into it.

I opened the driver side door after returning home and heard some kind of popping sound, kind of like something in the door was catching on something else and then I opened the door more to see three holes on the door near the middle hinge. I opened the door all the way to get out and am now unable to close the door because the hinge is completely broken. I googled it and have seen other people have this same issue from only opening the door. I have no idea how to even close the door.
