I have a 2004 Ford F150 with 39000 miles on it, one day last week I heard a loud pop and the passenger side window fell to the bottom of the door. This is the second window that failed since I bought the truck new, I have heard from other friends that they had the same problem with there 04 and 06 model trucks. This could be a safety problem if it was raining or snow. I have read on web sites that this happens to all Ford F150 trucks and Ford refuses to start a recall for this problem, plus they charge over $300 to repair the regulator.

I own a 2004 fore F-150 crewcab. In June 2007 the driver window failed during operation. It was repaired by an independent mechanic for $262.20. In March 2008 the passenger window failed during similar circumstances. The same mechanic repaired the window for $266.91. In June 2009 the rear passenger window failed during operation. My husband and I have identified the failed part within the regulator and are seeking to repair it ourselves. We are eagerly awaiting the rear driver window to fail and hope we are not driving at highway speeds when in it happens.

I have a 2004 F150 truck that my deceased husband owned. He passed in 2006, therefore the truck sits in my garage most of the time. It only has 28,000 miles on it. I drive a 2004 mustang. I was rolling the window down over the weekend, and it started graveling and suddently just fell in the inside of the door. I took it to the Ford dealership where we purchased the truck and it cost $390.79 for them to repair the regulator and give it an oil change. I keep the oil changed in it even though I don't drive it much. Why is this regulator not on the recall list. I have researched the internet and I see that a lot of folks have had the same issues.

I have a 2004 Ford F150 with 3140 miles. I was driving when the driver's side window fell with no warning, which cause me to almost hit on coming traffic. It happen so fast that I thought I have been hit that made me lose my been alert while I was driving. I almost hit a car head on and felt sick. I have seen in the web just how big a problem Ford has with windows falling down but yet they say there is no problem. They are very happy to have Ford owners pay $300 to $400 every time the windows fall and they will continue to fall. It will come that somebody will be hurt or kill in an accident just because Ford in not doing anything about this serious problem. I do hope that a serious injury is not what it takes for Ford to correct the window problem.

1. the driver's front window failed and fell down into the door. It will not roll back up. It has not yet been replaced. Apparently a very common problem with this model of vehicle. As a rescue worker I see how this could be a safety problem if this were to happen while driving down the road. The window could shatter and cause a wreck.

Window sounded like gravel was in it, then window fell while driving. Seems to be a common problem on the 2004 F150S, and Ford will not cover, and to boot..the part alone is over 200$ and of course they stock them....because they go out. Volkswagen had a similar issue, but with their clips, but they had the guts to admit they were bad and replaced them for free....

I was driving down the road leaving work when my passenger side window rolled down on its own, tried to roll it up but all I herd was a crunching sound. Was doing about 45mph when it happened, scared me a bit, because it happened so suddenly. Today 5/7/09, however when I woke up and went outside, my rear drivers side window was down, I again tried to roll up the window and herd the same crunching sound, but this time I knew it was the regulator, since I had just fixed the other window 2 weeks before. The part was replaced the first time for $265 and im guessing its going to be the same price again.

I have a 2004 F-150. The window regulator broke and the window will not go up. This is the second time this has happened. The first time my truck was parked in a parking lot not being used while I was in afghanistan. It was taken to the local Louisiana Ford dealership where they said it happened all the time. I was charged around $400 for the repair. About 4 months later the same problem happened while my parents were driving with my 2 year old daughter in the truck. I once again contacted the local Ohio Ford dealership and the repair cost is going to be about the same as last time. I talked with the service manager who gave me the Ford customer care number. Ford does not seem to care that this problem is happening. They told me that there was nothing they could do other than document my concern. I was given this website to file a formal complaint, and am amazed at how many other people are having the same problem. I have contacted the federal trade commission and filed a complaint with them as well as notifying my state attorney general. A onetime problem is understandable but for this to happen twice to my truck and seeing how many other people have had the same problem is pathetic. I hope the NHTSA inspectors see how many people are having this problem and force Ford to correct it. Please have Ford recall this part before someone gets hurt, or a truck being stolen over a faulty piece of plastic. Thanks

Passenger window regulator failed for the second time, window slammed and almost caused an accident while driving. Drivers one replaced 5 months ago. Now being told that the rear two are "going out" as well and need to be replaced. Dealership recognizes that there is a problem with these regulators, called Ford customer relationship center and all they would do was offer me a $750 gift card if I agree to buy a new Ford truck in the next 30 days. Are they kidding!!! I have always owned Ford trucks, but am going to look at the new Tundra now as I can see that Ford does not stand behind their products, so much for being built Ford tough.....

Driver side window made a pop while going down, the window stopped about halfway down and then would not go up or down, the window motor still operates, and the window is in the track. The operation cable the moves the window up and down broke off at its connector, resulting in the unit needing to be replace. This is a frequent complaint on these vehicles.

2004 Ford F150, 40K miles. Driving down road, hear loud pop, then the drivers side window fell into the door. Luckily glass did not shatter. Determined that window regulator had failed causing the problem (loud pop then window falling into door). Subsequent search of this failure indicated it is quite common. Federal government should require Ford to issue a recall to proactively replace these defective parts. Could cause driver to suddenly lose control of vehicle.

I was driving and went to roll down my driver side window on the way home from work and the whole window just dropped into my door never to be seen again. To my luck, it began to rain.....badly. As if getting wet wasn't enough, every time a vehicle would pass me going the other direction at an intersection I would get splashed with nasty road water in my face!!! it sprayed me so bad once when a vehicle passed me that I hit the curb and could have easily had a horrible accident or worse, killed someone on a curb!!! this cost me over $300 to have the whole motor assembly replaced in the door and sounds like it is all too common due to a poorly designed plastic tab that breaks. What will it take for a recall on this" some poor persons' child getting hit at a bus stop during a rain storm" can't wait for it to happen again.

You need to recall the 2004 F150 power window regulators. I had both of the rear passenger regulators go bad (supercrew). I have replaced one already because the window went down by itself, would not go back up and the cable got all eaten up. Did I mention that it went down on the highway and my 4 year old was in the back seat. My 2 year old is on the other side and her window had the same issue. The window is tuck in the shut position and have not messed with it yet. I am going to tell you that she is not riding in my truck because of the faulty equipment. I don't want to take my chances. Drivers side window was down Sunday, warm out, went to put it up and nothing worked, just a grinding noise. After removing the door panel, window regulator gone bad, wiring everywhere. After a minor internet search thousands of complaints about this part. Apparently when they fail the window drops and in some instances the windows break, causing major damage in the door. The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-150. The contact stated that all four window regulators stopped working on his vehicle. Within two weeks of each other, the regulators completely failed. When the last regulator failed, the driver's side window shattered inward while driving approximately 65 mph. Prior to the failure, the contact heard a loud popping sound. He took the vehicle to the dealer after the first failure and was provided the necessary part to repair the vehicle himself. He filed a complaint with the manufacturer. The current mileage was approximately 60,000 and failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
