Had safety recall 19S07 done on 4/6/2021 due to truck downshifting to 1st gear randomly. Reprogramming per the recall did not fix the issue, but truck is not displaying any of the required dtc's to be able to do the safety recall 19N01 even though truck is still downshifting to first gear randomly as well as loss of speedometer at times while driving. Truck also seems to sit in 3rd gear for a few seconds when at a complete stop. Dealership will not move forward on recall of lead frame until codes are displayed, even though the truck is showing all other symptoms as stated in 19N01

The vehicle drops into 1st gear for no reason, including when at high speed. This causes the rear wheels to skid and the vehicle to loose control. I have taken the vehicle to two Ford dealerships, and they have done the software update under recall 19S07, but the vehicle continues to have this problem. Both dealerships tell me they believe the lead frame needs to be replaced to fix the sudden downshifting, but Ford corporation refused to pay the cost of this repair because Ford corporation say the lead frame is not covered by the 19S07 recall unless there are "error codes" (which there are not, even though the truck has downshifted three times at speeds of about 35 mph since they "fixed" the software).

Abrupt and unexpected transmission downshifting to first gear. Ford had a recall in 2016 for 2011-2012 F150 and never included my vehicle in the recall and then in 2019 they expanded the recall to include 2013 F150S. My vehicle has done this very dangerous downshift. I have called Ford and taken it to the dealer and now they say its out of the 150,000 mile recall. Had they notified me when they first knew of this issue I would have been within the mileage limit. Ford failed to recall my vehicle when they first knew of this extremely dangerous transmission malfunction and now want me to pay $1000 for the repair.

Within 10 minutes and 2 miles of engine startup and after turning onto a national highway and at highway speed the RPM and engine power dropped suddenly to idle and would not respond to accelerator input. After stopping and immediately restarting the engine, performance was normal and the warning light for powertrain malfunction/reduced power/electronic throttle control was off. The last time this happened I was in the middle of a busy intersection of the same highway and another four lane street/highway while accelerating from a traffic light stop. No codes were shown on two different diagnostic tools. Fortunately, I was not towing a trailer at the time.

Transmission reaches an uncertain speed then wrench appears and all power is lost, forcing me to coast to the side of the road. Having to turn off engine and restarting. Waiting until it is safe to resume travel. This is a safety hazard not an extended warranty issue. I choose not drive on the highways because I can not reach the speed limit posted. This is the only way I can be sure I don't put myself and other drivers in harms way.

Driving at around 40 mph vehicle down shifted to low gear & wrench 🔧 light came on & speedometer went to 0 & vehicle remained in low gear but I was able to make it back home. After turning ignition off for few minutes & back on it cleared out issue & was able to drive again. Not sure what's going on but dealer can't check it for two weeks, 2-18-21. There was a couple recalls 19S07 6R80, 19S19 6R80 for sudden transmission downshift powertrain control module programming, which was done by dealer.

I was on the highway driving along at a constant 65mph and suddenly my truck jumped in a lower gear, rps reved way up, the steering wheel jerked almost out of my hand, tires even had a slight squeal. It almost felt like I had hit something. Almost immediately it was back to normal and back to resumed speed.

Engine stops with wrench code. Sometimes will restart and run ok. Broke down 500 miles from home and took to mechanic, problem was not found, however continued to run. Stopped again 3 times at highway speeds in dangerous situations a few months later. The second time to a mechanic the problem was discovered to be undersize fuse port on fuse block and fuse relocate kit Ford (el3Z-14293-a) was installed. This seems to be known problem and owners should be advised as the vehicle loses complete power sometimes creating a dangerous situation. Fuse amperage is adequate but terminals are too small, it is moved to a larger terminal area on fuse block, this seems to be a design flaw and should be addressed.

While driving my Ford F-150 on 12-11-2020 going about 40 - 50 mph my truck suddenly downshifted from 6th gear while driving down to first gear. This caused my truck to go into a tire squealing skid. I was lucky no one was around me. Once I got control and the truck slowed it still would not shift out of first gear. I pulled over and waited a couple of minutes and turned the vehicle off. Once I turned it back on everything seemed normal I was able to drive to my home a couple of blocks away with no problems. There I let the car sit over the weekend not driving it again until I took it to the dealership on 12-14-2020. Earlier that year on 6-25-2020 I took my truck into the dealership to do the software update which was supposed to eliminate the sudden downshifting in the 6-speed transmission that I have. From what I have experienced apparently the fix did not work. The service department claimed that the fix should have taken care of the problem and it had to be something else. They are currently running diagnostics to figure out what the problem is. I have also contacted the customer service department which said they could do nothing else unless Ford further opens recalls again for this vehicle. I was told all I could do is keep the receipts for the labor and repairs and hope that maybe I can get reimbursed in the future if the recall is opened again. This is a very serious issue which can also be life-threatening Ford needs to do what's right and repair these vehicles properly instead of going the cheap route and trying a software fix which only masks the problem temporarily. I am currently without any way to and from work at this time due to this problem. The dealership would not even give a loaner vehicle for my problems.
