Lead frame wiring harness in transmission problem, causing no signal to speedometer and eratic shifting of transmission. Had truck in dealership 6 months prior to lead frame failure, with transmission complaint and they did a software update. The mileage was under 150K at that time of the original complaint

I was driving down the road and my truck all of a sudden shifted down into 1st gear and became stuck. Had to stop the vehicle and turn it off. Started driving again and it did the exact same thing within 5 minutes. No lights came on or anything. Has done it for 3 days. I can drive in manual mode but it still has trouble wanting to shift but again no lights coming on.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle downshifted to first gear then a higher gear and then shifted back to first gear independently. The gear also shifted to fifth and sixth gear then back to first. The vehicle then shifted to fifth and remained in fifth gear. The contact stated that the vehicle shifted into first gear while slowing down. The contact stated that the vehicle shifted correctly up to fourth gear after which the vehicle failed to shift gears in the correct sequence. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed nor repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 104,000.

My transmission downshifted from 5th gear to 1st gear in Nov 2018. The transmission then would no longer shift due to the damage it caused. I had the transmission rebuilt by Ford. Soon after the repairs Ford released a safety recall for the exact problem. I took the vehicle in and they performed the recall service. I asked about reimbursement for the prior repairs and was told yes it would be covered because it was caused by the recall. The truck continued to randomly shift to neutral or skip gears. I took it back in. They said it was caused by the rear main seal, this has nothing to do with shifting. The transmission has never leaked. The issues continued on until on February 27th the transmission dropped to 1st gear on the highway (65 mph) nearly causing a major accident and throwing me against the steering wheel. I just contacted Ford recall department and inquired about full reimbursement and to notify them that this happened again. They said they would not reimburse me any $ and ignored my complaint about the transmission downshifting like that again. I am now sitting with a sore back, $4,000 repair cost and a truck that may put my life and any passengers life in danger while in the vehicle.

The contact called to file a safety complaint however he does not remember details as he blacked out. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, he attempted to make a turn on a curve was all he could recall of the incident. The contact stated per the police report the vehicle crashed into a corner post and a fence. The contact stated that the air bags deployed. The contact stated per the police report there were no skid marks to indicate that the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The contact was transported by ambulance to the hospital as he was unconscious. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact stated received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19V075000 (power train) after the failure and he believes this was a cause of the vehicle failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

We own a Ford F-150 3.5 L ecoboost V-6 king ranch pickup truck. Truck was purchased in 2014 new. Have serious concerns as the vehicle has so many current issues. From day one of purchase and while still in the dealership parking lot, upon start up there was a very loud clattering sound. Sales rep said it was because it was cold and it had been sitting. Purchased vehicle, had problems immediately with dangerous lag in acceleration (which we still do), an average of 12 mpg if we were lucky and very serious engine misfires with major decrease in power accompanied by sputtering whole vehicle shuddering while trying to merge on the highway or with hard acceleration. Very dangerous, especially if in the fast lane, which we were. We started to limp over several lanes of traffic to the shoulder and the truck regained power. Many misfires like this, all explained to the Ford service tech and verified on the trucks computer. So many in fact it was necessary to replace all spark plugs at less than 57K miles. We just picked our truck up today, Feb 18th, 2020, after it was in the shop again, this time for 12 days, to fix this misfire problem again and numerous other issues with the front hubs staying locked in 4 wd while in 2 wheel drive and switching in and out, timing chain replaced, and the ecoboost turbo tubes replaced as they were cracked, iwe replaced, and left front actuator. Also about 3 weeks ago it had transfer case motor replaced as well as numerous switches, all which did not correct the problems. My husband and I decided to take it on the highway to see if the lag misfire problem was fixed. When he hit the gas there was a screechy sound from the top of the engine, power seriously decreased once again on the highway and the check engine light was back on. I sent an email to Ford and auffenberg Ford in ref to these continuing problems.

I recently purchased this vehicle used less than a week ago. I have only driven it for about 75 miles. While driving down a busy street at 45 miles an hour the truck down shifted to first gear and simultaneously the speedometer stopped working. I kept control of the vehicle but if a vehicle would have been following closely it is possible if not likely to have rear ended me. I checked the VIN and it states no open recalls. Evidently the vehicle was serviced for one of the past recalls which clearly describes this same event as an issue. I will contact the dealership grey daniels Ford in brandon ms where it was purchased for inspection.

While driving 65 mph my 2013 F150 downshifted into first gear and locked the rear tires cause me to spin out of control. This caused minor body damage to the vehicles rear bumper, from hitting something off the side of the road. I called multiple dealerships and explained what happened at the beginning of febuary 2020. They explained that they could get me into fix the problem for about 20 days at minimum and even then they would have to keep it longer to fix it if there was something wrong. I explained that I almost rolled the vehicle after spinning out of control and asked if they could get it in sooner, the answer was continuously no from all of the dealers. I asked them if I should still drive the vehicle and they said it shouldn't be a problem to do so, I then stated so you want me to continue to drive the vehicle even though this happened and potentially get into an accident and injury myself and or someone else or permanently damage the vehicles powertrain. They still said that it should be ok to drive the vehicle. Well it locked up again causing another spin out and I almost hit a school bus. How is this legal? I even called Ford extended care for help and they told me that this is a recall and even though I have premium care it only covers a 10 day rental for things other then a recall and to call the dealers back for further details. So I called the dealers back and the dealers told me there rentals are all book for the next 2 weeks. A vehicle that almost killed me and other people because of this mechanical flaw shouldn't be legal to sell. And how am I supposed to go to work and get my kids around for the next month, when Ford will do nothing to help. How is it that they would let me and others drive these vehicle and it not be mandated they be picked up from peoples homes and fixed. This is criminal of Ford and it was a going to kill someone.

Unexpectedly downshifting into first gear while in motion, speed ometer and mileage goes to zero, rpms starts to run high, and the tool light on the dash board comes on, in city streets and on highway driving. I have to stop and shut down the vehicle and wait a few minutes. When I start up the vehicle and put it in drive gear the transmission jerks.

I took my truck in almost a year ago in March to have recall on transmission downshift repaired. Just in the last month I have had to bring my truck in 3 times. Twice my truck downshifted while on the sh-130 tollway going 80mph and down shifting to 40 mph almost causing me to wreck or be struck by another vehicle. Again today I was driving my vehicle on hwy and engine light came on. Same effect except this time my truck refused to move without turning it off in the middle of traffic. This is 3xs my life has been in jeopardy in a short period of time. I have taken it to Ford dealership where they insisted transmission downshift issue was repaired and suggested a tune up was best option. Hundreds of dollars out and again I'm in same situation I was. 3 X near wrecking or death and all in under a month. Initial date of service 1/3/20 serviced again 1/21/20. Now need service again. I have kept up with scheduled maintenance on vehicle and it does not have very many miles on it.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, the air bags warning light illuminated, the vehicle independently downshifted to 1st gear, and the wheel started to slide. The contact managed to veer to the shoulder of the road. The contact turned the vehicle off and back on and the vehicle operated as intended. The vehicle was taken to (mike ferrell Ford Lincoln, Inc.1705 w 3rd ave, williamson, wv 25661) where it was diagnosed that the wire harness failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred multiple times. The contact mentioned NHTSA campaign number: 19V433000 (power train) as a possible solution to the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 148,000.

1. engine doesn't run smooth at highway speed.. 2. powertrain, transmission - received a recall 19V-075 for software update notice 6/25/2019. Took the F150 to gateway Ford dealership for the update. The next time tried to accelerate (8/16/19) the transmission shifter eradicable the dash icons flashed and the pickup stalled as to be in low gear, I shut off the ignition after pulling to the side of the road, restarted it after a bit and continued on my way. This has happened again, not sure of dates. As I was traveling out of South Dakota I contacted gateway, they said to take the pickup to another Ford dealership and they would fix it. Took it to auto nation Ford in corpus christi, tx. They wouldn't fix it. They said the update wad already done. The pickup drove and worked good prior to the recall update and now it will shift radically and dash icon flashing when accelerating rapidly. In addition the drivers seat is wearing out. It should rear better than that. The pickup only has 90,178 miles on it and should last me longer than that. One more issue. The positive battery post continually corrodes. I've cleaned it many times and still corrodes. Please have someone address these issues on my F150. I think there should be no cost to me per your advertising on tv. My truck suddenly downshifted from 6 gear to 1st gear, and almost caused me to crash. I looked online to see if other 2013 Ford F150 owners have had this happen to them and saw there was a safety recall on my truck (NHTSA recall #19V-075). On 1/6/2020 I took my truck to tomball Ford dealership and they confirmed I needed the repairs listed in recall 19V-075. The service advisor reached out to Ford to make sure the repairs would be covered free of charge. I was then informed that Ford denied my claim and would not offer any assistance toward the recall, due to my truck having 154,000 miles. I was then charged $1,328.31 to have the repairs performed by tomball Ford.

Was pulling onto the highway with my daughter in the backseat shifting from 3rd gear to 4th I experienced a sudden down shift to 1st gear then erratic shifting then the yellow wrench light came on "limp mode" and I only had 1st 2nd and 3rd gears to get home I dropped the car off at a Ford dealership thinking that the 19S07 recall unintended downshift was the issue the service manager called later that day and said the software upgrade had been performed the truck was road tested and ready for pickup I took it off the lot and the same thing happened down the road I brought it back to the dealer and mentioned the molded lead frame they later told me that the truck wasnt throwing the right codes for that and I needed to rip and replace the engine I did some research and found that thousands of other F150 owners had the same issue some had the right codes for the repair to be covered some did not and had to pay out of pocket but everyone has the exact same issue!!! this needs to be taken care of immediately thankfully no one was behind us it could have caused a serious accident I am disgusted with the way the dealership and Ford customer service has handled this and think they should compensate myself and others!!!

On 10 Aug 2019 I took my Ford in for transmission recall, reprogramming to prevent uncontrolled downshifting. I had never had had any problems with downshifting prior to this date. Once recall was done within a week my truck drastically downshifted twice before taking it back to the dealer who performed the recall. They said there was no problem with my truck and told me my wheels locking was not a sign of downshifting. Now I continue to have downshifting issues and also am throwing a P0720 code. I just know that the downshifting broke the leadframe and I looking at a huge bill. Now vehicle goes into limp mode where I have to stop and restart my car to get speedometer to show.

My vehicle was down shifting when I was in 5 and 6 gear. I took it to a local dealership (which took 3 months). They said that there was something wrong with my truck but didn't know how to fix it. I took it to another dealership, and they found a recall notice. They try to fix the issue with reprograming. However, it never corrected the issues. I was told by the dealership that Ford had to figure out how to fix the problem. I now avoid going over any big hills, bridges and highways to prevent my vehicle from downshifting. In this whole process my vehicle hasn't been recording the correct mileage and now I have higher miles then I should. I bought my vehicle a little more then a year ago and nearly has 30,000 miles on it. I only drive to and from work a total of 12 miles a day for 5 days. This error in programing I feel has cause other damage to my vehicle besides the downshifting and adding extra miles. If Ford could have corrected this problem in timely manner it could have save the truck, but due the dealerships having no clue how to fix it. My truck is nice paper weight.
