Recall 19S07: Recall description: On your vehicle, an intermittent failure of the output speed sensor (oss) in the transmission may result in an unintended downshift to first gear. Risk to safety: An unintended downshift into first gear can cause an abrupt wheel speed reduction, which could cause the rear tires to slide until the vehicle speed slows down. This condition could result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. Remedy program: Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to reprogram the powertrain control module with software that will prevent an unintended downshift into first gear in the event of an intermittent oss failure. This service will be performed free of charge (parts and labor). F-150 3.5L, 5.0L, and 6.2L vehicles: Ford Motor Company is working as quickly as possible to develop the software for this repair. When the software become available, Ford Motor Company will notify you via mail to schedule a service appointment with your dealer for repairs to be completed free of charge (parts and labor). The software is anticipated to be available by late 2nd quarter, 2019. Status: 11 - recall incomplete my vehicle shifted into 1st gear while traveling 70 mph and towing a boat. This nearly caused a accident which would have resulted in deadly consequences. I took it to the Ford dealership and they have quoted me $5136.51 to fix the damages due to Ford software issue. It has damaged the transmission and they are refusing to fix it.

Unexpectedly downshifting into first gear when at speeds of 40 mph. Then sudden upshift to fourth than in limb mode. Found also that the transmission quick connect was leaking and lost all transmission fluid and no warning lights to let me know that all the fluid was missing. Ford told me that I required a new transmission but it took them a week to notice that transmission fluid was missing. They told me that they tighten up the quick connect and the leak may stop. Well, a day later still have the problem of upshifting and downshift at 3rd to fourth. All the fluid was missing again no warning lights. I replace lines and fuild and the upshift and down shift is gone but now have grinding of the thrid and fourth gear.

Noticeable increase in shifting times and in some cases slipping/missing gears. This occurs on highway driving and regular driving and most noticeable when attempting to pass a vehicle, increase in speed when entering the highway, or when climbing a hill and the vehicle downshifts. Decrease of power is noticed when starting at a stopped position and a hesitation. Vehicle was taken to a Ford dealership for manufacturer recall 19S07 (https://www.NHTSA.gov/recalls?VIN=1ftfw1et6dkf[xxx]#VIN) and I was told that they received notice not to reprogram 2013 F150's with a 3.5L engine and that new programming had to be developed for these vehicles. I also received a notice in the mail about an additional recall for my vehicle (not listed in NHTSA) where a speed sensor failure may occur which require replacement of the transmission (see attached). When I've described the problems I've been experiencing with my vehicle to the Ford dealership, I was told they were not symptoms of either of the recalls and would not qualify for repair under the recalls. The issues were first noticed around May 16, 2019 and have been noticed a number of times since then. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

My vehicle experienced a sudden complete failure of one of the transmission cooler lines just before the quick disconnect. This occurred while driving under normal conditions and under acceleration. The failure was unexpected and allowed a large amount of hot trans oil to spray on the hot exhaust manifold and turbo charger on the R side of the engine. The amount of white smoke was enough to stop traffic behind me. Oil spray was noticeable on the entirety of my truck. Please note this is a major risk of fire happening. The volume of hot trans fluid combined with hot exhaust and the even hotter turbos could easily ignite. Online research has shown me that this is a very common failure on the F 150 trucks in this model year range. The fact that the dealer had all lines in stock tells me this is fairly common. Please note the attached picture is not my actual failed line but that of an identical failure to mine found on the internet.
