1. while driving at highway speeds (around 70 mph) the vehicle suddenly down-shifted into 2nd gear. The rear tires briefly locked up, but control of the vehicle was managed. 2. while driving, both in town and on the highway, the vehicle would downshift from 6th gear to 5th. The vehicle would then not shift below 3rd gear when brought to a stop. Turning the vehicle off and on again would reset the problem. The maintenance light and airbag light illuminated. The speedometer went to 0. the odometer and other digital readings in the center cluster on the dash showed all dashes. After several of these events, the check engine light also illuminated. 3. after one of the events described in 2 above, the vehicle was stopped, shifted into reverse, and then returned to drive. The vehicle would not move and acted as though it was in neutral. Shutting the vehicle off and on again corrected the problem. The local Ford dealership is aware of the problem and has scheduled an appointment for a diagnosis. Ford safety recall notice 19S07 was performed in March 2019. Ford safety recall notice 19S19 was performed in July 2019, after the first event, but did not correct the issue.

Struggling gear to gear doing acceleration and spontaneously downshifting periodically on its own. I have participated in two recalls dealing with the unexpected downshifting but no change to the issue I am still having the same problems the last recall was 7/12/2019. It seems like to use recalls are not fixing the issue what can I do" I will kindly appreciate some type of feedback to steer me in the right direction for I am locked into financial responsibilities with this vehicle at the same time I fear for my safety and others around me"

Recall 19S07: Recall description: On your vehicle, an intermittent failure of the output speed sensor (oss) in the transmission may result in an unintended downshift to first gear. Risk to safety: An unintended downshift into first gear can cause an abrupt wheel speed reduction, which could cause the rear tires to slide until the vehicle speed slows down. This condition could result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. Remedy program: Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to reprogram the powertrain control module with software that will prevent an unintended downshift into first gear in the event of an intermittent oss failure. This service will be performed free of charge (parts and labor). F-150 3.5L, 5.0L, and 6.2L vehicles: Ford Motor Company is working as quickly as possible to develop the software for this repair. When the software become available, Ford Motor Company will notify you via mail to schedule a service appointment with your dealer for repairs to be completed free of charge (parts and labor). The software is anticipated to be available by late 2nd quarter, 2019. Status: 11 - recall incomplete my vehicle shifted into 1st gear while traveling 70 mph and towing a boat. This nearly caused a accident which would have resulted in deadly consequences. I took it to the Ford dealership and they have quoted me $5136.51 to fix the damages due to Ford software issue. It has damaged the transmission and they are refusing to fix it.
