Transmission briefly downshifted to first gear. I was traveling approximately 45 mph on a 4 lane street. I was not turning. The road was relatively flat. I did not lose control, as the transmission shifted back to fifth relatively quick. Transmission will also attempt to start in fifth gear from a complete stop. I was almost rear ended from this event.

Speedometer suddenly goes to 0 mph, dash information like mpg and mileage all read ------, only instrument working is the tachometer...additionally when the problem first starts you see the air bag warning illuminate, but a minute later the service wrench appears on screen. Once the problem happens the truck has trouble taking off, very slow to get going, it's in a higher gear and not be returning to 1st gear. If I pull off the road and turn the truck off and back on again 98% of the time the truck will run fine, a few times I had to cycle on and off twice. Problems usually reoccurs often. I had a Ford dealer look at the problem...they said the problem is caused by a faulty molded leadframe inside the transmission. $1100. Repair cost. I think this should be covered by warranty---hard to believe I only got 120K out of a transmission, was expecting 300K. There is even a bulletin from Ford, tsb 13-6-8. but they still would not fix under warranty!

My transmission spontaneously started to shift down several times from high gear to low gear 2/28/2019. I was able to get it to the dealer down the street after stopping and power cycling. 3/1/2019, I was informed a recall on the transmission software was available, all was well, and I picked up my F150. 3/5/2019, the F150 shifted from high to low again. I contacted my Ford dealer of the ongoing issue and they said they could not get to it and made an appointment for 3/11/2019. On 3/12/2019, I was informed by the local dealer they could not get the problem to reproduce. From research conducted from the problem onset, internet forums led me to believe the problem was a regular occurrence with the plastic molded lead frame module inside the transmission. The Ford dealer said they saw no problems with the lead frame, but I made the decision to have it replaced. 3/14/2019 picked up my F150. The date is 3/20/2019 and the problem has not repeated itself leading to believe the problem originally was the lead frame module. I am surprised an update device and recall has not been performed on this item as it appears to be the culprit of the F150 shifting problem.

Unintended downshift to 1st gear. While driving in 6th gear it downshifted into 1 gear then had no driving power. Took vehicle in under recall notice and was told there was not going to be a fix until quarter 2. I explained this was an unsafe condition, but they dealer told me there was nothing they could do about it and I would have to wait.

I have been having same issue as everyone else, as my 2013 F150 has shifting up and down erratically. Driving at steady speeds and all of a sudden shifts up and down from 1st to 5th and 6th gear and back down again suddenly and unexpectedly. Which as everyone else has stated it is a major safety problem and Ford is not standing behind their product. Ford knows of this problem as they have recalled certain years but not 2013 which is apparently just as much of an issue, now that I have taken my truck in for service it will my responsibility to pay at least $1000 to repair maybe more if more problems are found. This is not an isolated problem as there is an issue that spans many years and models of vehicles. The consumer should not have deal this as this a manufacturing issue that has spanned years and many models and is a major safety issue for me and that unsuspecting victim in traffic accidents.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. Shortly after the vehicle was purchased, the contact stated that the gears independently downshifted from a high gear to a lower gear without warning. In addition, various warning indicators and gauges illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by a dealer. The contact later received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19V075000 (power train) and was waiting on the manufacturer to receive a dealer referral to repair the vehicle. The part was not available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the recall notice. The failure mileage was not available. Parts distribution disconnect.

Ford F150 supercrew 5.0 V8 6 speed auto transmission. Erratic shifting while driving. Sometimes will stay in 5th gear at a stop wont shift down, sometimes when pulling out in 1st gear will not shift up. Bounces back and forth between 1st gear and third or 5th while driving. Shutting off vehicle and restarting sometimes solves issue but becoming more frequent, recall for reprogramming speed output sensor was performed with no resolution. Appears to be the lead frame module issue that was recalled in 2011-2012 Ford F150 but not recalled or extended warranty on 2013 models. Very very dangerous, cannot drive this vehicle!

19S07 transmission downshifting from 6th to 1st. I experienced the exact symptoms for the recall. I took the truck to the dealer lou fusz they told me that it was a tranmission sensor and stated it would be over $900 to fix it. The work was performed and the truck has not done it since. I received the notice and called Ford and they are denying the claim to reimburse for the repairs that were made because the truck had done the downshift more than 10 times. The last time was the only time Ford dealer told me they found the solution. This is not been handled correctly and I am not wanting to take the truck back on the highway after going from 70 mph down to 1st gear locking up the truck and sliding.

In February 2018 my 2013 Ford F-150 while driving at approximately 50 to 60 mph the truck would without warning slam into first gear and causing the rear tires to skid for a split second. This truck is the vehicle that my wife uses on a daily basis to commute and to run our kids back and forth from school and sporting events so to me it was very unpredictable and extremely dangerous situation to be put in without warning this is you happened.this issue happened several times over a period of about 2 to 3 weeks and started to occur more frequently. We took it to the service department at ken garff Ford in american fork Utah where we originally purchase the vehicle they looked it over and recommended changing out the entire transmission I got online did some research read through several different forms and found out that this is something that was happening to the 2011/2012 F-150S so I knew that it wasn't a full transmission issue that something else was going on so I took it to larry miller Ford in provo Utah described what the problem was they sounded to be more confident and sounded like they had dealt with the same issue on other F150S. They did their tests and did say that it was the molded lead frame was issue and that that it needed to be changed out and gave me a quote to get it fixed. I agreed to get the work done. The repairs were done to the transmission and it has been working flawlessly ever since. In March 2019 we received the letter stating the safety recall for our exact situation. NHTSA 19V- 075. Called Ford Motor Company trying to get a refund and they refused saying it's only a software update that doesn't even exist yet. So that makes no since why they won't reimburse us for the issue that was fixed by their service department.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 50 mph and attempting to apply the brakes, the gear downshifted on its own. Also, the wrench symbol and check engine indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was coasted over to the side of the road. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission failed. The vehicle was towed to plaza Ford (410-838-3100, located at 1701 bel air rd, bel air, md 21014) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that NHTSA campaign number: 19V075000 (power train) was only for the reprogramming of the power train control module. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 163,000.
