  • 84,000 miles
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 10-?"15 MPH, the speedometer decreased to zero. The vehicle began to jerk, lost motive power, and stalled. While driving at high speed the vehicle downshifted to first gear. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to his son, who is an independent mechanic, who informed him about a recall on the transmission. The mechanic used the scan tool, which displayed the wrench symbol. The contact called the local dealer and was informed that the vehicle was from Canada and was not covered under a recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact called another local dealer, Wolf Ford of Alliance, at 403 W 3rd St., Alliance, NE 69301, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 84,000.

While traveling at approx 55mph the transmission suddenly down shifted into a lower gear, tires skidded briefly, and speedometer bounced down to 0mph. Seemed to resolve itself until the following day when the vehicle will not shift out of 1st gear at all and speedometer will not move. After some research, it appears to have the same symptoms as recall?19S07 but my VIN is not included. Would like to get the reprogramming done so the sudden downshift will not happen.

The transmission slips in first gear when driving under 10 mph, and also slips from 3rd to 4th gears when driving at highway speeds. This is similar to what has happened on the 2011-2013 F150's that were recalled. 2014's should have been included as well. Driving at highway speeds, the transmission downshifted and I was no longer able to accelerate and dangerously but cautiously moved to the slow lane and off the highway. During this time the wrench warning light did come on. I have paid Ford thousands of dollars to fix the issue, but doesn't seem like it got fixed as it's still doing the same thing. I have reported this to multiple ford dealerships since I bought the vehicle in 2015 and not one has been able to fix the issue. this is what they fixed below and still did not fix the issue. When driving on the interstate the truck suddenly downshifted causing the tires to lock up and the vehicle to swerve out of control. There is already a recall for this issue for Lead Frame in 2011-2013 vehicles. The recall needs to be extended to the 2014 model vehicles as well.

Catastrophic failure of automatic transmission cooler lines after passing through deep puddle. This resulted in immediate loss of power while on 4 lane divided highway. The lack of power and the inability maintain consistent speed placed both me and other drivers in a hazardous situation. In addition the need to have to have the truck towed placed others in harms way. Ford dealer inspected and confirmed complete rupture of transmission line near transmission cooler. In addition, an insurance appraisal was also performed. There were no indications of transmission problems prior to hitting the puddle, no warning lights, transmission temperature was normal, no visible leaks or drips under the truck, and no problems with shifting up or down.

Traveling on highway at 60 mph in 6th gear. Car downshifted to 1st gear on its own causing rear wheels to lock and making me lose control. I was able to safely pull over without getting hit. This is the same issue in the recall for 2011-2013 Ford F150-??s. The same thing is happening in 2014-??s.

On three occasions over the past two weeks, my truck downshifted abruptly and without warning while traveling at approximately 65 miles per hour. The first time it occurred, it must have shifted into first gear because my body and head were stopped from hitting the steering wheel thanks to the seatbelt. On the second and third time the downshifts were hard, but I suspect they were into second or third gear. On all three occasions the speedometer went to 0 mph then bounced up. The tachometer raced to 5,000 to 6,000 rpm (possibly higher). There was a fourth occurrence that wasn't as bad. I was traveling approximately 60 mph when the transmission shifted down to maybe third or fourth gear, then it shifted up, then back down several times. During this fourth time the speedometer dropped to zero and the tachometer was up and down. A wrench symbol popped up on my information center between the tachometer and the speedometer. The transmission temperature gauge went to the lowest reading. In each of these four cases, I turned my hazard lights on, immediately shifted the transmission into neutral, and coasted to the side of the road. I turned off my truck. Then, I cranked it, and it ran fine afterwards - until the next occurrence a week later, then a few days later, and finally twice in the same day. I have parked the truck since the last occurrence (twice in the same day). Thankfully there were no vehicles immediately behind me in any of these four events. If there had been, it would have resulted in wrecks. There would have been no brake lights to warn drivers behind me. My truck went from approximately 60+ mph down to low gearing without warning. I have not taken my truck to a service center, and I am debating what to do. There are recalls for this exact condition in the same model truck up to 2013. My truck was built in the Dearborn, MI, plant that produced the same problem trucks that were recalled just one year earlier.

Transmission cooler line failed while driving at highway speeds. This resulted in a complete loss of transmission fluid resulting in loss of power and drivability on the highway. Also resulted in trailing cars being covered in transmission fluid, obscuring vision. Vehicle engine and exhaust were covered in transmission fluid and smoking heavily indicating potential for fire. Vehicle was driving perfectly until the cooler line failed at a line juncture. Check four-wheel-drive warning light came on a few minutes before total loss of power occurred. Vehicle was inspected by a dealer who stated that the transmission was ruined due to the loss of fluid.

While driving 50mph the transmission downshifted to 2 gear and the rear end locked up and I slid. I was able to shift to neutral and gain control. This has happened twice at that speed and you can feel a jolt like it-??s happening at lower speeds. I believe this is an electrical issue in the transmission as the gear indicator on the dash will flicker between -??D-?? and -??2-??. I have a video of this that can be shared. I have not called Ford yet but there does appear to be a recall on the 2013 F150 models where there is an issue with the lead frame which sounds very similar to what I-??m experiencing. My 2014 has the same transmission 6R80 that-??s used in that truck as well. There was no warning when this happens.

My truck is randomly down shifting on its own at highway speeds sometimes even shifting to reverse and causing the speedometer to not work the truck has around 78000 miles on it and I see there were a lot of trucks recalled for this dangerous problem. When I contacted ford they say mine was not recalled even though it is doing the same thing the other vehicles with the 6r80 transmission is doing.

My vehicle shows a wrench on the dashboard and loses power and will not accelerate. We took it to an auto parts store to have a diagnostic test performed and it shows that the OSS ( Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit) fault. In my 2014, this is inside the transmission. After doing research, I found this was recalled in 2009 to 2013 models. Could this be an issue in my 2014?

Spontaneous downshifting of transmission to first gear has occurred more than once resulting in sudden change in speed, tires screeching, and unsafe driving or difficulty controlling automobile. Fortunately no one was behind me as I would likely have been rear ended. Each time this has happened the motor has been subjected to heavy strain.
