Safety Recall Notice 2437 / NHTSA Recall 24V444 The transmission fails to stay in gear and downshifts into first gear while going 50-60mph. This safety recall is very unsafe unfixed. It-??s hard to control while driving the vehicle and can cause the vehicle to crash/lose control. Was not completed by Simmons and Rockwell Ford Hornell NY 14843. They closed the recall claiming it was fixed. The truck is downshifting exactly how it states in the recall causing the back tires to lock up. This is a huge safety issue. The dealership is saying the recall was -??fixed-?? but this truck has not been fixed. It is still downshifting exactly how it states in the recall. We spoke with ford and they refused to help us with advocating for our safety with our local dealership or even getting a second evaluation with another ford dealership. The ford representative even hung up on us instead of assisting us. My children ride in this truck with this safety recall. We need help advocating for us. This recall is very very serious but no one is taking it seriously. We cannot even get a technician to drive the truck to see how it downshifts. If their own technicians won-??t get in this truck but they expect us to have our children in it? We need help. If a company such as ford is required to notify customers of these safety recalls but refuse to fix them or assist their customers with a resolution. There is a maintance light on but it does not read anything.

My Ford F 150 is a 2014 Eco Boost with 65,302 miles on it. I took it in for the recall and an oil change and the engine light was coming on intermittently. They said it had a timing chain issue. I have been buying Ford F 150's since 1980 and never had this issue. My extended warranty company denied the claim to repair the issue. The dealership said it would cost around $5,000 to repair. I checked the internet and saw some of the same vehicles with the same issue. I was wondering if this could be a manufacturer malfunction.

Transmission issues that where addressed by factory recall: Here is the summary: Although the truck has high miles it has been running and driving very well. A couple of months ago, the truck developed a transmission issue that was covered by the recent recall. The truck was experiencing 2 main issues. A. The transmission would suddenly and unexpectedly downshift from a high gear to a low gear or even 1st gear. B. the transmission would go into LIMP MODE and although the truck was in gear, it would barely move and the WRENCH service light would appear on the dashboard. This would happened 1x per week for the last several months. After receiving the recall notice, I took the truck to my local Ford dealer, they performed the update. After picking it up and driving it, I soon realized the issue has not gotten worse. Within the first few hours and 100 miles, the experienced the issue 5 times and that happened for the next couple of days. I called the dealer, they told me to bring it back in, they checked it, verified my issues and said they could not do anything to help. The software was updated and if it is worse, then its permanent. I called Ford corporate and they told me the same thing. They are not offering any help. The truck has now become a hazard to drive and it is a safety concern. What can I do?

My 2014 Ford F150 was recalled for an intermittent failure of the output speed sensor (OSS) in the transmission. The recall was performed by Crossroads Ford of Apex (North Carolina) on [XXX]. When I made the appointment (which wasn't until 2 weeks from the time I called), I was told it would take approximately 3 hours however it was ready in 30 minutes. Since the recall was performed, twice the "orange wrench" has appeared on my dash for 15 - 20 seconds. I contacted Crossroads Ford and was directed to speak with the Service Manager Tony (no last name given). I explained about the wrench and he said I I would need a diagnostic performed, that it sounded like the 'mainframe in the transmission' was bad. He redirected me to the scheduler and I was given November 19, 2024 as the first available date. I was told my other options were to try another Ford dealership to see if they could see me sooner or just drop my truck off at Crossroads and they would work it in as soon as they could but that could take 5 -6 days and if it needed repairs they were not sure how long they would have my truck. I called 2 other Ford dealerships and was offered sooner dates however I would have to pay for the diagnostic and any repairs as deemed necessary. I asked even if it was related to the recall and was told yes because the recall for my truck had been closed by Crossroad Ford. My only recourse was to go back to Crossroads Ford and see if there was a warranty on the recall they performed. I called Crossroads Ford on Tuesday, August 22, 2024 and relayed the information I had received from the other dealerships. I was informed that Tony said I would have to pay for the diagnostic and repairs, there was no warranty on the recall. Per my recall letter dated July 2024, "and to check for the presence of certain diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). This service will be performed free of charge (parts and labor). Ford Motor Company said I should file this complaint. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA

I received a recall letter 24V-444. My 2014 F-150 has repeatedly shown the symptoms described in the recall letter. Truck will downshift to 1st gear at various speeds, and the rear tires will slide when it occurs at a higher speed, and has done so on several occasions. On [XXX] I took vehicle to Auto Gallery Ford in Gaffney SC. They supposedly did the fix recommended. They told me to bring it back if it downshifted again. On the way home from the dealer, it downshifted again on the highway and almost caused an accident. I took the vehicle back and was told that Ford would not pay for the new part needed because a certain code was not showing up upon inspection, regardless of the fact that it has downshifted many times while I was driving. It is progressively getting worse and also showing an illuminated wrench symbol when the downshifting occurs. This is my only vehicle so I have to drive it in this unsafe condition. I took my 2014 Ford F-150 to liberty Ford in Maple Heights for the current recall and to also check out why the engine light was coming on intermittently. They advised there was a timing chain issue and contacted my extended warranty company, endurance. Endurance does not want to cover the cost to repair the vehicle. From my investigation it appears that the timing chain should last up to 100,000 miles and my vehicle currently has 60k plus miles. My question is could this possibly be a recall situation? Following a recent recall for a sensor that malfunctioned and caused the vehicle to suddenly drop to first gear, the vehicle was sent to a Ford mechanic to update the sensor and supposedly fix the issue. Less than one week following this fix, while driving on a highway at 55-60 mph, the vehicle suddenly dropped to first gear as it was descending a hill and exiting the highway. The vehicle failed to get out of first gear, causing the engine RPMs to over-exert. After pulling over on the shoulder, turning off the engine and allowing it to cool down again, the automatic transmission failed to get out of first gear again.

I recently took my truck to the dealership for the 24S37 recall repair. Later that day, I received a call from the dealership informing me that my truck was ready for pickup. However, approximately 45 seconds after picking it up, I noticed that it was still shifting hard and felt like the transmission was dropping. I immediately contacted the dealership to report the issue. The dealership told me that I could bring the truck back in for another scan but mentioned that if the correct code appeared, I would have to pay for the repairs myself. I decided to take the truck home and parked it, hoping that more information about the recall would become available. Since then, I have called the dealership multiple times, left voice messages, and attempted to get in touch with the service manager, Jeff, but have found it nearly impossible to get a response. I scanned the codes on my truck and identified the following codes: P0715, P0717, and P0731. I am concerned that the recall repair was not completed properly or the initial recall caused that damage and that the issue persists. I am seeking your assistance in ensuring that this matter is resolved appropriately.

Recently took my truck in for the safety recall 24S24. In relation to the sudden transmission downshift power train control module. After the supposed fix, my truck has sudden and jolting downshifting as it did before. This recall fixed absolutely nothing. Ford needs to issue a recall fixing the issue, a software update clearly is not the solution.
