Death wobble car randomly shakes uncontrollably.

The ac line fitting overheated causing it to explode and arc which in turn melted the primary wiring harness for the engine. This also resulted in the wire catching fire and causing burn damage to the firewall. The vehicle was going through a car wash when the incident occurred. I have been told by my mechanic that the water from the car wash prevented further fire damage.

My truck has had the same problem twice now. The "death wobble" in my front end when in got over a rough patch of road or a bridge joint going between 55-75. It was fixed once while my warranty was active now since my warranty is up they will not cover it. Multiple times driving if I wasn't holding on tight or if my wife was driving there would have been an accident which could have been catastrophic. Needs to be a recall on this. Everything on my truck is stock and it happened roughly 15K and now at 43K miles. Im worried it will kill someone and me and or my family when we are in the truck. I don't let them ride very often unless we are going somewhere in town where my speed in less than 45 mph. I have an appointment for my truck at woodhouse Ford in blair, ne on the 19th of this month, March 2020. Hoping by doing this complaint they will not charge me since it is a safety issue.

Purchased vehicle in 06/2018. Contacted spike's Ford around 11/25/2019. Advised service department that vehicle would go into a death wobble every time it hit a bump as I was driving on the highway. The truck would shake and bounce uncontrollably. It could only be stopped by braking to bring down the speed. This could cause a injury or death to myself or others on the road. There are defects in the steering damper. They finally called me on 01/27/2020 to have it repaired because they did not have the part in stock, and were backlogged with service for the same reason on other customers.

Driving straight on highway 95 in Arizona, at 70 with cruise control set. Clear day, no adverse weather or road conditions. Tires equally pressurized at factory settings of 59 front and 55 rear and a completely stock suspension and tire package. Out of nowhere, steering wheel begins to shake violently and the truck is swerving from one lane to the other. I had to slow to nearly 30 to regain control of the vehicle. This would have caused a head on collision under the right circumstances. 2018 F-250 with less than 30K miles.

I hit a rough patch of road at 55 mph on a 2 lane and the steering wheel was jerked out of my hands and the truck violently started shaking and bouncing veering into oncoming traffic pulling left towards a semi. I hit the brakes and turned the wheel to the right as hard as I could only turning right slightly enough to miss the truck. I pulled over and inspected the wheels and everything looked fine. I drove away cautiously and you couldn't tell anything ever happened. Called dealer he said oh yea death wobble. Nice to know they already know about it. An older or weaker person would be dead along with on coming driver/passengers. Scared to drive my $70K truck!!

Death wobble at about 3000miles after hitting a pothole on a city street, this seems to be a very common problem, when R U going to address the problem " when people get killed ! how many complaints before U do something about it???"

Multiple times when hitting a small pot hole or driving on a rough paved road vehicle went into what is called a 'death wobble'. vehicle was uncontrollable. Took vehicle I. and front end work was reportedly done at dealership. Got the vehicle back and it went into a 'death wobble' again. At approximately 50 to 60 mph during each occurrence the vehicle the vehicle shook so severe that it was uncontrollable.

Starting at about 20,000 miles my F250 platinum Super Duty started doing an extreme 'death wobble' while driving 70 miles an hour on the freeway. Dealer said it was a steering stabilizer. Problem still exists. They tried to state it was the lane assist which has been turned off since we got the truck. Now after a couple months with this problem even when we are doing 30-50 on normal streets and hit and bump the front end begins to shake violently. This is now needing to return to dealer again to see what else they say is the issue

I have a 2018 F250 4WD under 25K miles. Twice last week the truck shook so hard at (70 mph) in the middle of the freeway. I thought it was going to split in half. The truck came to an abrupt halt in the freeway land and nearly caused two major accidents. The webster, tx police who helped me off the freeway warned me not to believe the Ford dealership if Ford blames this on my tires or steering. The dealership basically said there wasn't a permanent fix but now are claiming otherwise yet can't back up the repairs with concrete evidence it won't happen again. Ford claims due to lemon laws in tx they can't buy it back. Two days later the exact same thing happened again on the toll rd going 70 mph. Ford has now said they will replace the steering damper. I have researched this at length and can honestly say not one thing I have seen guarantees a new steering damper will solve the problem. I posed the question to Ford today: Since Ford has knowledge of the defect (although they won't refer to it as a defect) and I kill myself or an innocent driver who is liable or responsible? Ford referred me to their legal department for an answer. I did talk to the law firm who filed the class-action lawsuit. I plan to go to the media with my story, I will also file on the website listed above. There is absolutely no excuse for Ford to flat ignore this major defect! I am afraid for my safety, the safety of my family and other drivers. There are known documented cases just like my that Ford is outright ignoring. Twice I was put in harms way and could have been seriously injured of killed. The vehicle went for 70 to shaking out of control to stopping in the lane. The vehicle shook so bad cars were swerving to miss me. The happened 10/2/19 and 10/4/19

Vehicle was already "fixed" for what is termed "death wobble" last year. While driving last night, we experienced the whole truck shaking uncontrollably on two different occasions. Once on a township road going 45 and once on the interstate doing 65. Both involved uncontrollable shaking of the suspension and inability to have complete control of the truck. This happened again this morning while driving to work. This happened, as before, when the truck hits a bump in the road. The incident on the interstate caused the need to slow down from 65 to 20 mph in order to regain control of the viehicle and stop the shaking (death wobble).

While driving down the highway, the vehicle caught on fire underneath the hood. There were no waning signs, lights or any other indication that there was a problem. The cab was melted to the frame in less than five minutes.

This vehicle has a serious defect which Ford needs to finally acknowledge. When hitting bumps or bridge transitions on the highway the front end begins to shake violently also known as the "death wobble". the only way to stop the shaking is to slow the truck down to about 25 miles per hour on a 75 mile hour road. This is going to cause a accident or kill somebody. My truck is now at the dealership for the 3rd time in less than a year with under 15,000 miles on the vehicle. After research this appears to be a serious flaw with the 2017 & 2018 Ford F250 trucks. I see that several complaints have been filed and it is sad that that a mandate is not being issued to correct this problem. This is a serious issue and waiting until someone gets injured or killed should not be an option.

When driving between 60 and 75 mph the truck begins to shake violently. The steering wheel rotates back and forth out of control. The mirrors rattle and the entire truck bounces. This will occur after hitting a rough patch of interstate or when braking to exit the interstate. The truck must be slowed to approximately 40 mph before the shaking subsides and normal driving can occur. A continuing problem. When I take it back to the dealer service department for warranty I am simply told "they were not able to replicate the problem"

When traveling on the interstate and hit a bump the truck shakes violently and does not stop until you come to a complete stop. This has happened at least 5 times. It seems it is happening more frequently now. The truck has 30000 miles. I have had it for 1 year

Front windshield cracked the whole way across after using defroster. The vehicle was turned on and the defroster was turned on as I waited for vehicle to warm up I went back inside the house. When I went back out and got in the vehicle the window was cracked almost the whole way across in a perfect line with 2 peaks that came up about a foot in on each side. The crack that went the whole way across was about 8 inches above dashboard. I have only $13000 miles on the vehicle and bought it new around 11 months ago. I don't know if they will cover this as they said the coverage on the window had to be under $12000 miles or 12 months whatever came first. It's really upsetting to think the window would crack from defroster and that they may not cover it.

On two different occasions, the tailgate came down unexpected while driving. On the first occasion, we occurred damage to the tailgate and the 5th wheel. Pictures are attached. We were towing our fifth wheel trailer in motion, turning and driving. Two other people in vehicles told us our tailgate was down and had damage to our fifth wheel. One happened in September and the other in November again for the second time.
