The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-250. While driving 70 mph, the steering wheel shook violently and the vehicle experienced the death wobble. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to haldeman Ford (607 NJ-33, trenton, NJ 08619, (800) 939-6659) where it was diagnosed that the steering damper needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to lawrenceville Ford Lincoln (2920 us-1, lawrence township, NJ 08648, (609) 882-2900) where it was diagnosed that the steering damper, alignment, hub, and globe needed to be replaced. The contact was referred to another dealer equipped to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case numbers: Cas24344877 and cas24319119. No further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 26,300.

I have experienced violent shaking and extreme vibration resonating from the front wheels and steering components of my Ford F250 Super Duty truck while driving. I understand this to be referred to as the 'death wobble' and for very good reason. I have 37 years of law enforcement experience, and I can assure you this issue left unchecked will be the root cause many traffic deaths past, present and future. It's occurred five times with me to date within 18 months all five causing total loss of steering control, and the last two causing me to cross center divide of the roadway and into oncoming traffic. I narrowly avoided a head on collision with an 18 wheeler in one of those incidents. I've had the vehicle checked by dealerships and independent shops. I've spent thousands of dollars on repairs and parts. Ford needs to offer a solution now before any else is put in harms way.. or dies.

While driving my vehicle I started having violent shaking that resulted in it being hard to control the vehicle. I thought I had a blow out and quickly pulled off the road. After checking all tires and seeing that they were ok I re-entered the vehicle and drove it home. The next event happened while I was driving home from work on the interstate. I was driving at around 70-72 mph and the vehicle started to violently shake once again causing me to temporarily lose control. I quickly decelerated to around 35 mph and gained control just before hitting the cement retaining wall that separated North/South traffic. I drove it home at 35-40 mph the rest of the way home. I called my dealership and explained to them the problem and they gave me an appt time to bring it in. I took it in and left it with them and they said they were unaware of any known problems that would cause this. I left the truck with them and they drove it and told me later that afternoon that they didn't find any problems. I drove it home and the next morning on my way to work I experienced the same violent shaking as mentioned above. I called the dealership back and told them I was bringing it back. They drove the truck again several times and informed me they experienced the problem with the shaking. They said they would call Ford engineers and get a recommended fix. I left the truck with them a week, they installed a new steering stabilizer and told me it was fixed. Also they informed me that my front tires were now feathering and said it was due to miles. The truck only has 30K miles, the tires are worn due to the truck being out of line due to the shaking. The stabilizer did not fix the problem, the truck is now shaking on a more consistent bases. I have contacted Ford corporate, a buy back offer was initiated. I was denied a buy back offer. The problem still exist and the truck is unsafe.

There is an uncontrollable wobble in the steering wheel when hitting a bump. It will not stop until the vehicle is stopped. It shakes so bad that there is fear it will veer into traffic or just send me off the road. It is in the shop for this same problem now 5 times and each time they tell me its fixed only to find out that is comes back again and worse. I will be putting the date of the first time it happened. It is still not resolved.

When driving down the highway yesterday in my 2018 Ford F250 I experienced the "death wobble" at 70mph. I crossed a bridge where it had a dip and my truck steering wheel and front end continuously shook until I slowed to 30mph. If I was in a turn I would have wrecked! this was bad and after some google research this is a commonality with the F250 diesel trucks. Ford needs to figure something out. If I would have known I would have never bought one! this is going to eventually get someone killed.

This vehicle has a serious defect which Ford needs to finally acknowledge. When hitting bumps or bridge transitions on the highway the front end begins to shake violently also known as the "death wobble". the only way to stop the shaking is to slow the truck down to about 25 miles per hour on a 75 mile hour road. This is going to cause a accident or kill somebody. My truck is now at the dealership for the 3rd time in less than a year with under 15,000 miles on the vehicle. After research this appears to be a serious flaw with the 2017 & 2018 Ford F250 trucks. I see that several complaints have been filed and it is sad that that a mandate is not being issued to correct this problem. This is a serious issue and waiting until someone gets injured or killed should not be an option.

While driving hwy. 84 from lubbock, tx hit washboard ruts in span of 5 miles. Had 3 episodes of truck violent shaking or death wobble, almost loosing control in traffic. 22,000 miles on truck all highway miles. Took in for warranty work. Right front end replacement. Driving 75 mph had to drop down to 20 to gain control. Wary of another episode. Ford needs to fix problem. These trucks to expensive for this to be happening.

At 17,000 miles the truck started going into what everyone calls a "death wobble" when at high speed and/or rough spot in the road. It is clear that they have a major safety issue here and they are doing nothing about it and their fix is only a patch that delays the problem to a later date.

When driving between 60 and 75 mph the truck begins to shake violently. The steering wheel rotates back and forth out of control. The mirrors rattle and the entire truck bounces. This will occur after hitting a rough patch of interstate or when braking to exit the interstate. The truck must be slowed to approximately 40 mph before the shaking subsides and normal driving can occur. A continuing problem. When I take it back to the dealer service department for warranty I am simply told "they were not able to replicate the problem"

This vehicle suffers violent shaking and shuttering when hitting rough patches in the road. This occurs at higher speeds, but I have seen it at 45 mph. Very dangerous when this occurs at 75 mph on a highway interstate. The shaking requires immmediate slowdown to almost a complete stop. This vehicle is a danger on the road.

My 2018 Ford F250 Super Duty has a violent shake (death wobble) if I hit any kind of bump in the road at highway speed, my truck will shake so bad to the point I cant hold onto the steering wheel and whatever is in my cup holders goes flying in vehicle. I have given Ford 3 attempts to fix this issue and every time they try to fix it, the problem keeps happening. I have contacted Ford's corporate office and spoke with them multiple times about the issue. At this time, they have told me that I just need to keep trying to get it fixed and they refuse to help with any kind of trade assistance to change trucks. Ford knows this is an issue with 2017/2018 Super Duty trucks but doesn't seem to care about their customers. I'm terribly disappointed in how I have been treated by a company that I spend over $250,000 with over my lifetime.

My 2018 F-250, 11 months old has a death wobble. It has occurred multiple times between speeds 50-65 mph on interstate as well as state two-lanes. Left wheel hitting any bump can lead to total loss of control of the vehicle. Front end now seems loose after these many occurrences. I am now afraid to drive it on interstate and drive with "white knuckles" everywhere else. Only a matter of time before I end up off the road or into oncoming traffic.

While driving approximately 65 mph on March 9, 2019 the front end of my 2018 Ford F250 began violently shaking/ oscillating after hitting a rough patch of road in the far right lane of the highway. I lost control of my vehicle and ended up crossing two lanes of traffic before coming to rest in the grass median strip of the highway. I'm worried about my safety and the safety of other drivers. Luckily no one was near me when this happened. My wife will not drive my truck anymore due to this serious issue. I will be contacting the dealership tomorrow.
