Truck has sterring wobble when hitting bumps at highway speeds. Common term for this is death wobble. Dealer said it needed front end alignment and sterring stabilizer. Over $500 worth of repairs and it is only some better. This is a $65,000 truck!

I own a 2019 Ford F-250 king ranch. My truck has less than 15K miles on it. While traveling on the highway at approximately 65 mph I hit a small bump on the freeway which caused my steering wheel to shake violently (known as the death wobble. I was forced to immediately slow down and pull over to the shoulder before I could regain control over my vehicle.

We going down a fairly steep grade on a state highway going 63 mph, pulling my gooseneck trailer with 10K lbs of poles. I was coming up to a curve and applied there brakes as we went into the corner and then the steering wheel began to shake uncontrollably. I had to hold as tightly as I could to make the curve and hit the brakes and slowed to about 30 mph then it stopped.

On multiple occasions at highway speed the truck has entered a "death wobble" after hitting a bump in the road. I've been able to recover and stop the wobble by letting off the gas and slowing to below 55 mph. The last one (yesterday 25feb20) nearly caused me to roll the truck with my daughter in the passenger seat.

While towing a 5th wheel trailer on the 10E bound we hit a rough patch of road. The truck and steering wheel began to shake violently to the point where I thought we had blown a tire. I was able to slow the truck down and at about 30mph the shaking stopped and then I pulled safely off the road. I exited the vehicle to investigate and there appeared to be nothing wrong with the truck. I called the Ford dealership and a service tech said "it sounds like death wobble". that was the first I had ever heard of death wobble. We were able to limp the truck home at 40mph and then it went straight to the dealership. They had the truck for 2 weeks because the part was on backorder. This is a ridiculous situation that should never happen and I can only hope never happens to anyone else.

While driving straight on a highway at approximately 55 mph my truck's steering wheel began to violently shake. It also felt as if the whole truck was shaking. I decreased my speed to approximately 30 mph and my truck quit shaking. This happened on 02/23/2020. This has happened 3 times since I have had my truck. One other time I was driving straight and the same thing happened. I was able to slow down and the truck quit shaking. The other time I was driving on a state highway and I was in a curve. The truck and steering wheel began to violently shake. I briefly lost control of the vehicle and went into the left lane. I slowed down and the shaking stopped. I was able to regain control of the vehicle. I will be contacting the dealer tomorrow morning on 02/24/2020. Luckily there was no oncoming traffic when my truck began to shake. After doing a little research, it seems that Ford has a problem with these vehicles and my truck seems to have a death wobble. I am the only owner of my truck and it has less than 7600 miles. My truck is fully stock with the 18 inch rims and stock tires.

I was driving my 2019 F-250 pickup on the interstate and as I crossed a bridge transition back to the highway that was fairly rough due to the bridge seam, the steering wheel and the whole truck began shaking violently to the point that I almost lost control. I had my cruise control set to 70mph. I immediately began slowing down and moving to the shoulder of the road. The violent shaking abated as I slowed below 30mph. I checked out the front suspension of the truck and there didn't appear to be anything amiss so I drove home at no more than 60mph and took the truck to the Ford dealer the next business day. When I described the symptoms to the dealer service representative he said, "sounds like the death wobble." I asked him what he meant and he indicated that Ford F-250S and F-350S seem to have a systemic issue that leads to the problem I described. And, he also indicated that Ford has a technical bulletin out to their dealers telling them what to repair when this malfunction arises. The dealer replaced the front stabilizer and another front end part and returned the truck to me. It appears to drive ok after the repair was effected. I did an internet search of the term "death wobble" and there are a large number of posts describing the exact same symptoms I describe above. This problem appears to be wide spread among late model Ford F-250S and F-350S. Had my "death wobble" incident occurred on a crowded highway or while towing a trailer, I fear it could have resulted in an accident.

While on a highway on a long turn, a damage section of the road was approached. When the vehicle drove over the bump, the entire steering wheel became loose and loss tension, the vehicle discontinued turning for a moment then regain steering a second later. While turning, during the moment of loss steering, the vehicle swerved to the opposite direction of where the vehicles steering was positioned, then skidding the occurred and steering was regained. Speed was approximately 55mph

Mid to high speeds if I hit any sort of bump or any sort of hole in the road the front end starts to vibrate severely and steering wheel vibrates and shakes and I have to immediately decelerate. It is exactly what I see other Ford users describing online as the death wobble.

Violent shaking of steering wheel when hitting bumps at highway speed. Must slow to below 45 for it to stop. This is referred to as death wobble. It happened within 13000 of owning my new truck. It has happened while pulling a camper with my family of four. We were almost rear ended by a semi because I had to slam on the brakes on the interstate.

I had 18000 miles on my new truck when the death wobble started. I sent the truck to natchez Ford dealership 2 times. The first time they replace the drag link and did a alignment. Took it back at 22000 mile the truck stayed at the dealer for 3 weeks waiting on so upgrade damper. Drove the truck for 300 miles still wobble but not like before. Parts are not what's need to fix the problem. People at dealership has a fix for the issue but its is not cover under warranty

I am having some type of severe wobble steering/suspensions issue where it feels as if I have a flat tire on the front of the truck. The first time this happened it was so severe it cracked the windshield. The first occurrence I tried slowing down from 70 to get it to stop as I thought it was a flat tire. Once I slowed down to about 25 it stopped. The second time this happened I tried to give it about 30-45 seconds to see if it would stop but it didn't and progressively got worse. The third time this happened I got a bit more creative and tried to accelerate through this going up to 85 and that did not work so again got it to stop by reducing speed to 20-25. This is unsafe to the point where I am afraid to drive the vehicle on the highway in heavy traffic or on a highway without shoulders as if this occurs I may have to slow down to 20-25 mph to get this to stop. This occurred on the highway (I-75 in fl) on 3 separate occasions and experienced the same problem 3 times over the period of 30 days. The tire psi was about 65-70 on all occurrences with dealer inspected "good tire tread". all 3 were routine drives to work and all occurred at the same speed of 70 mph. All of them were cruising (not accelerating or decelerating) and in 6th gear in optimal driving conditions. This happened twice with no load and once with a bumper pull trailer (tongue weight of about 350-500 lbs, load weight of trailer+load around 5,000 lbs). My truck has only been serviced by Ford and at the dealership where it was purchased. It was purchased new with only 13 miles when sold. I now have about 25,000 miles on the vehicle. The truck has 0 aftermarket parts or equipment and is 100% stock and has the original tires as well (Continental w/kevlar).

While in motion the vehicle will become unstable or completely uncontrollable at times after you hit a bump. The front end and steering wheel shake and the only way to make it stop is to slow down or stop completely. The dealership has addressed this issue twice and they do not know how to fix. Loss of vehicle control is a serious issue and this is a well known and documented issue that the manufacturer needs to address. 3 out of 4 people I know that have the super-duty trucks have this issue.
