When traveling at highway speed, experienced the "death wobble". The front end and steering wheel shakes violently making steering impossible. Slow down to about 40mph and it stops. This has occurred 3 times when hitting a bump. Occurred once with just the truck and twice while pulling a 5th wheel. Ford dealer replaced tie rod ends etc but still Occurred after that, now waiting on a new steering damper.

3rd time in a week- Death Wobbke while driving in heavy traffic. This is not safe!! No warning light ms our sounds- just starts violently shaking while driving out of the blue. In order to make it stop- you have to immediately slow down and pull over. This is challenging in that while driving at a high speed (within speed limits) on a major Hwy, you cannot just slow down immediately or pull over immediately. In addition, it happens so quickly and is so violent (major shaking and wobble) that you are taken off guard and driving becomes unsafe for ourselves and for drivers around you. Ford is aware of this problem. Our mechanics don-€™t have a fix all solution. For the price you pay for this vehicle, the consumer should not have to pay for a fix like this, even if there was one. This is NOT safe.

We started having a death wobble while driving between 60-70mph where the steering wheel shook Violently and the vehicle shook so back it hurt and scared me and my kids in the back seat. It was very scary and almost caused me to wreck with my kids in the car on the interstate. We then looked up and saw there was a recall for this problem. We took the truck into a dealership and got it supposedly repaired. It did not work. Roughly 1 month later. I was trusting Ford fixed the issue and on the interstate again and almost wrecked a second time with the kids in the car. This truck shouldn-€™t be allowed on the road of ford doesn-€™t have a fix. My business partner has the exact same truck and the exact same scenario occurred where he got the issue fixed at a dealership after almost crashing only to have it happen again. Currently we don-€™t know what to do as we paid big bucks for a vehicle that isn-€™t safe to drive, R. Clites

My truck has experienced the "death wobble" to my understanding the damper linkage is the malfunction. I reported this last year with Ford, but could NEVER get the part in. Now the truck wobbles and the steering wheel shakes violently with any little hole you run over. I have small children in the vehicle constantly and in the past 2 weeks it has shaken at least 4 times going over speeds of 50moh on the highway and the only way to make it stop is to immediately pull over and stop. I am afraid it will happen and I will not be able to control it.

After going over bump in the road truck starts bouncing uncontrollable, like the left tire in bouncing like a basketball to a point of almost losing control, until i can slow down to a stop, then when I speed back up it stops. I have only experienced this two times both in the last month the truck has about 32000 miles. I have taken it to dealership for maintenance but I don't think they really know what's going on.

death wobble occurs at speeds at or around 50 to 70 mph on june 22,2022, yes the the truck became uncontrollable and steering was do to the wobbling, the vehicle is currently at a ford dealer ship awaiting for repairs to the front end, dealer acted if the truck could not be repair upon dropping off the truck due to a back order problem for the part needed, there is no type of warning light or indicator to prewarn of this event happening. could very easily cause an accident or roll over

When I'm on the highway going between 45-75 MPH, and I encounter a bump or deviation in the pavement, The front end steering will begin to violently cavitate and wobble. The truck speed must be immediately reduced in order to regain control and stop cavitation of front end. I usually have to slow down to 35 MPH to get it to stop. This causes traffic behind me to swerve to avoid me and has almost lead to several accidents. Ford Dealer, Jordan Ford, told me that the replacement Stabilizer absorber has been back ordered for 3 months and they have a lot of people waiting on them. I told Dealer Rep about this issue already and they commented that if it doesn't do it all the time, I shouldn't worry about it. I understand supply issues are considerable, but this is a safety issue that should take precedence before someone is killed.

While driving on the freeway at approximately 70 mph I drove over a overpass that had a had a rise in the transition between the road and the overpass. After driving over the bump my steering wheel began to shake violently. I had to apply the brakes and at approximately 25mph the shake stopped. I continued down the freeway and I in countered a section that had somewhat bumpy expansion joints and once again the steering wheel began to shake violently and I had to slow down to approximately 20 mph to get the shaking to stop. During both these incidents it was very difficult to control the vehicle putting all the vehicles around in danger of me losing control, keep in mind this was a 4 lane freeway with a speed limit of 70 mph and heavy traffic !.

I was driving on the interstate and when I hit the expansion joint on a bridge, my truck and steering wheel began shaking uncontrollably. I was lucky to be in a situation that I could slow down quickly and pull off the road without getting into a serious accident. I talked to some other F250 owners and they said it was a common thing with these trucks and they referred to it as the "Death Wobble". It is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS issue that needs to be handled. I am taking it in to the Ford dealership tomorrow, but I hear that they don't have any fix for it now.

On 2 Jun 22, on I-24W near Nashville, while driving at the posted speed limit (65mph), I hit a pothole. The front end started oscillating which made it very difficult to maintain control. I slowed and pulled off the highway. The bouncing stopped just before pulling off. I inspected the tires for possible damage. There was none. Later the same day on I-65N north of Indianapolis, also driving near the posted speed limit (70mph) I hit an expansion joint, and the oscillation recurred until I slowed down to under 45mph. On 6 Jun22 travelling on I-65S I experienced the same oscillation on three occasions after hitting a bump at a bridge, a rough place in the road and a small pothole. On 7 Jun 22, while traveling on I-75S I experienced two more incidents due to bumps on the road. In all 5 instances the oscillation stopped after slowing to ~45mph. These incidents caused a severe lack of control putting me and other drivers at risk. This problem has been widely reported in online forums and in other complaints to NHTSA. There were not warnings or symptoms prior to the failure. Ford appears to be aware of the problem, issuing TSB 18-2268, but has yet to issue a recall.
