AT 60-70 MPH THE FRONT END BEGINS A SERIES OF VIOLENT SHIMMY OR WOBBLES. IT IS A RECURRING ISSUE. THE SERVICE TECHS REFER TO IT AS THE DEATH WOBBLE. i WAS TOLD IT NEEDED A STEERING GEAR REPLACE INITIALLY. TODAY I WAS TOLD IT WAS A STEERING DAMPNER. I HAD THE TRUCK EVALUATED ON 5/26/22 AT PHIL LONG FORD AT MOTOR CITY WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS "WOBBLE" COULD CAUSE A LOSS OF CONTROL AND JEOPADIZE MY SAFTEY AS WELL AS ANY FAMILY MEMBERS THAT MAY BE TRAVELING WITH

When driving the front end will begin to violently shake making it almost impossible to maintain control. This seems to be triggered when driving on the highway and when hitting a transition in the road or any type of bump no matter how small. The only way to stop the shake is to quickly get off the road and stop. The dealership has been made aware and did a temporary fix, very temporary. We have contacted them several times and have been told there's nothing they can do.

Hit a bump in the road and the front suspension starting shaking and the steering wheel became very hard to hold onto because of the violent shaking. The vehicle almost flipped over before i could get stopped. Ford replaced the steering damper but i still feel more bouncing from the front suspension. I think there are more issues than just the steering damper.

Happened today for the third time while I was driving about to exit off the freeway felt like I had a blowout scared the daylights out of me. My husband and I were driving 70mph, the speed limit was 75mph. Our truck encountered a bump in the road and then began to shake violently. My husband immediately let off the gas and pulled to the side of the road but the truck continued to violently shake until it reached about 45mph. On the same day while driving down the interstate the truck encountered another bump in the road and did the same thing. My husband could not stop or control the truck from shaking. We were lucky there were not many other vehicles around us or it could have caused an accident. The truck only has 18,000 miles on it.

When driving on Highway any time you are going over 50 mph and hit a bump, pot hole, or seam on a bridge, the truck-€™s front end starts shaking violently and you have to slow the truck down under 40 mph to get the truck to drive normal. This has happened numerous times over the past 3 years.

Experienced the "Death Shaking" 7 times while on our way to Talladega while towing a 6 ton camper. It would shake violently until I brought the rig to a stop. We were able to nurse it to Tony Serra Ford in Sylacauga AL., where they replaced the steering linkage damper. This is a serious issue because of the potential for control loss.

At highway speeds, if you hit a bump in the road, the front end shakes violently and will not stop until you slow way down or pull off the road. I have called and scheduled an inspection with the dealer and when I described the problem they said "oh, you have the death wobble" I purchased the vehicle in Dec 2020 and first noticed this issue the following month or so....with seemingly increasing frequency.

Hitting a bump while driving at freeway speed will result in an uncontrollable shake of the truck that sometime force the truck to move from lane to lane. The shake will continue until the truck slow down to about 20 MPH. The dealer has the truck for 2 weeks but they could not find any issue and return the truck back without any repair and stated that the truck is safe to drive. They refuse to do the test drive.

I was driving down the highway and for some unknown reason the front end of my truck started shaking violently. I had to pull over to the side of the highway to get it to stop. This has happened previously but not nearly as bad as I only slowed down to get the shaking to stop.

I was driving in the freeway approximately 70 mph when the truck drove over a small imperfection in the road and immediately started to shake violently and uncontrollably (often referred to as death wobble) I left off of the gas and as the vehicle slowed to 50 mph the shaking went away. This shaking is very violent and takes away from the drivers ability to control the vehicle in a safe manner amongst traffic on a busy freeway. Of the brake is pressed the shaking becomes worse until the vehicle slows. I took the truck to the dealer which the dealer advised that there was a recall on the steering dampener and replaced it stating that will relieve the truck of a death wobble. However, this did not fix the issue as I took it on the freeway and experienced the same exact issue. The truck has not been inspected by anyone other than the dealer. No lights or warnings were given at any time before during or after r the incident.

The steering feels loose as it would in an older worn out vehicle. It causes the truck to drift and requires constant correction to stay in the lane. The greater concern is the occasional violent wobble that happens when hitting a bump at high speeds. Last week the truck went into a violent shake after hitting a pothole and nearly sent me off the shoulder of the road. I was barely able to keep the truck from going off an embankment. This is a extremely dangerous issue that FORD needs to address before someone gets killed.

As the vehicle is driven, it'll suddenly shake so violently, I can barely keep it straight, and my wife can barely hold on to the steering wheel. This 1st happened July 2020, and we thought it was the poor condition of the road...but since, we have almost been bounced off the road and were very fortunate there was no on coming traffic, so many times, my wife will not drive the truck....and the passengers who've been with us when this has happened, will not ride again in the vehicle....never were we driving over 65 when any of these incidents happen...typically around 50-55.....I originally thought the truck had rough suspension, because any time the road conditions were not perfect, this would happen in small increments, I thought it was the suspensions...but since July 2020, we have to try to pull the truck over (which is difficult as we have little if any control of the steering ) and come to a complete stop, to get control of the truck....

while driving at 70 MPH on interstate 75 in Ohio, there where a couple of small bumps in the road ( not pot holes) that we drove over in the lane. Felt the truck start to vibrate through the steering wheel and within about 1-2 seconds the whole vehicle started shaking. it was a VERY violent shaking that came through the steering wheel. I had to apply the brake and move to shoulder and stop the vehicle before the shaking stopped. ( it probably stopped shaking at a speed less than 20mph however i was not looking at the speedometer) i consider us lucky as we were already in the right lane and did not have to cross other lanes to get to safety. had there been traffic behind us or next to us this could have been a very different situation, putting those in the vehicle at risk as well those driving around or near us.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving at 45 MPH, the steering wheel started shaking significantly and the front end of the vehicle started bouncing from side to side, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle then veered to the side of the road. The contact depressed the brake pedal until he was able to regain control of the vehicle. The contact continued to drive; however, the failure reoccurred several times the same day. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000.
