Was driving and heard a very loud pop and crack noises. There was no audio and the car wouldn't let me turn the radio on nor off. While this was happening the pop and crack noises still continued. I did some research and it turns out these Ford radio are known to do this and I just want to report it as a safety issue due to the fact that when my radio is off the noises are still going on and they are very loud. This could cause other people accidents and is very irresponsible on Ford behalf.

I purchased the Ford Focus titanium hatchback in 2014 new, and since then it has been to the dealership/mechanic over 25 times due to 2 major defects -- Ford powershift transmission and electric/engine issue with draining the battery. I've had 4 batteries and average 6-8 jump starts per year due to the electric problems with the computer draining my battery. I've come very close to having at least 8 accidents due to the transmission fault. The transmission was replaced a couple years ago and it worked without having the shifting stall problem for about 2 months. My dealer said that's "all they can do... Ford doesn't offer any payback or refunds due to these 2 well-known lemon defaults. I just called the 800 number for Ford to file a complaint (800-392-3673) and they stated that I'd have to call back in 2 hours because their system is down. I asked if I could file a complaint online and they stated, 'no', you must call us to file the report. Details involving the lack of safety due to these 2 issues -- I've had my engine stalled in the middle of traffic on average of 6-8 times per year, putting my young children and self in great danger. I've also had my battery die just hours after parking it in a metropolitan city (miami/tampa/Washington DC/Chicago/detroit) and had to wait at my vehicle with my children for Ford or aaa to help replace/charge my battery -- which took on average 1-2 hours each time. I am requesting that Ford purchase my vehicle for the full blue book value, in addition to $10,000 due to the loss of work and lack of safety/hardship/disregard to my safety issues that I've brought to their attention over the past 6 years. Please contact me at [xxx] and leave a message if I'm unable to answer. Thank you, [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

The radio/ speakers will let out popping, crackling, and static at very loud volume at random times that is extremely frightening and can cause the driver to become frightened, swerve, or lose control of the vehicle. The issue is ongoing and happens several times within a short trip. Even with the radio completely turned off the system will still make the sound. It will do this at any speed, in any gear. This is a widespread issue, as I have seen many others online in my searches for a fix complaining of this issue.

Car emits loud (hurting my ears) static and crackling sounds at the speakers highest volume. This happens when driving and even when the key is not in the ignition causing battery drainage. The sound is terrifying and when it randomly happens driving is startling enough to create a jerk reaction/jump that could easily cause a distraction or an accident as a direct result. It is not just static - it is so frightening an loud on my ears that my ears ring for a long time after driving and I feel like the car is pretty much undrivable without earplugs. Nearby drivers can even hear it with my windows all up. It has been making popping sounds for years that are also terrifying, but now it's so much worse and happens everytime I use the car. F I were to pull the fuse and just not have a radio, Ford tells me it will prevent me from using temperature controls and door locks. Ford says without looking at it that it will cost me 1100 for each part disfunctioning which is either the apim or the audio control module or both but of course they will have to charge me to figure out which parts need replacing. Any search shows that this is happening constantly to all poor Ford owners. This happens driving, parked, car on/ no key in ignition

Hello, this information is to be added to my previous complaints. I could not find a way to add to existing complaints on the web site so I did another complaint. Reference: Tracking # 11308693 #11308409 and request #266675 Focus complaint. The attached pictures are of the leaking washer fluid pump that I replaced. Ford Motor Company knew they had an issue with these pumps. The original factory pump was manufactured in china and the new Ford motorcraft washer pump that I installed is now manufactured in poland. This repair cost me $724 and I did most of the work myself. All the dealer did was install and program a new BCM module.

Here is another picture. This is the electrical connection to the washer fluid pump. Fluid leaks out of the electrical connections to the pump and gets pushed through the wiring loom and the fluid leaks onto the body control module causing corrosion and failure of the BCM.

This is in regards to my 2014 Ford Focus. When parking the vehicle the engine will not shut off, even with the key out of the ignition! faulty washer fluid pump leaks into electrical connector for washer pump and washer fluid gets pushed into wiring loom past the firewall and down into the BCM( body control module) connector part C2280D. The washer fluid then runs from the connector onto the male pins of the BCM corroding the pins and shorting out the BCM. This causes the vehicle to exhibit many faults, the worst are the vehicle not starting or as in my case, the vehicle would not shut off and continues to run even with the key out of the ignition. Ford recalled 433,000 vehicles for engines that don't shut off but my vehicle was not captured in the "build date" for the recall. I believe I missed the recall by weeks or a month at most?

Engine continues to run after engine is shut off after parked for minutes or hours even with the key removed from the ignition. Once vehicle does shut off the battery (brand new) will completely drain overnight. Unknown...but Ford did have a recall for this issue for over 433,000 vehicles but not this specific year model.

For at least the last three years the vehicle experienced short periods of non-starting. In October, 2019 the car would not start period. Previous it was able to start after moving the shifter from park to drive and back and sometime using the remote start. The October issue required towing to North county Ford in vista, ca. After five days, it was determined the transmission had failed and needed repalcement. After replacement the non-starting issue resolved, but in the last three weeks it has returned. I have not had any issues while the vehicle is moving.

My 16 year old daughter was driving in her 2014 Ford Focus SE on the interstate. I was a passenger as she only has her learners permit. All the sudden she complained the vehicle was hard to steer. I saw her having a physically hard time steering the vehicle. I looked at the dashboard and saw the power steering assist failure indicator icon (electronic power assist steering - epas)activated on the dashboard. My daughter continued to struggle to maintain the vehicle safely due to the power steering issue. She drove to the nearest exit which was even worse than the highway. She had trouble steering through the "S" turns on the exit ramp. She came to the intersection, luckily the light was green and she didn't have to stop to turn right, but it wasn't much help. While turning onto another two lane highway she almost hit the concrete medium due to the epas failure. Watching her drive the vehicle reminded me when I drove my grandfathers old Dodge dart; no power steering. I understand

The car's speakers, randomly and without any sort of predictability, let out and incredibly loud crackling/screeching/sound to the point of hurting your eardrums. It is very startling, it either persists and does not stop (sometimes for hours) or stops and sporadically returns. This issue has even caused me to jerk while driving as it is very loud and scary. Turning volume down doesn't do anything, turning the sync system off doesn't do anything, this sometimes happens when the car is not even on (key isn't in ignition). It is a huge safety issue as this problem is so loud and unpredictable that it can certainly lead to a car accident. Having read through a lot of online forums about this issue, I am not the only one having this problem.

Radiator replaced at 77,600, coolant still drops to the min- line. No reasoning on where the coolant is going.
