About July 13th 2022, I was driving to town with my children. The car's warning sounded and displayed a mechanic's wrench. Moments later while approaching the intersection a few hundred feet away, I had no foot brakes. I was able to use the hand brake and stop before running the busy cross traffic going 50+ mpg. Had I not reacted as fast I did, there would have been a three-car incident at the intersection threatening all of our lives. Had the car towed to the repair shop and they confirmed that the abs module and brake booster was no longer functioning and needed to be replaced. They were unable to perform that repair, so I then had it taken to a dealership for a second opinion, and they had the same conclusion. Apparently, this is such a problem that the abs module part is backordered with no estimated stocking date. Now I've been out of a car for over a month. Kendal Ford of Marysville Washington recommended repairs. 1. HYBRID BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS (EEC TEST, PINPOINT TESTS) (NUMEROUS WARNING LIGHTS, BRAKE/TRACTION CONTROL/WRENCH...) Fail 2. REPLACE FAULTY ABS MODULE ASSY (BOTH ELECTRONIC/HYDRAULIC, STUCK VALVES AND UNSTABLE LOGIC VOLTAGE) (NUMEROUS WARNING LIGHTS, BRAKE/TRACTION CONTROL/WRENCH...) Fail 3. REPLACE FAULTY BRAKE BOOSTER (INTEGRAL BOOSTER VACUUM CONTROL SOLENOID FAILURE) (NUMEROUS WARNING LIGHTS, BRAKE/TRACTION CONTROL/WRENCH...) Fail 4. PERFORM HYBRID BRAKE FLUSH (AFTER HYDRAULIC REPAIRS) (NUMEROUS WARNING LIGHTS, BRAKE/TRACTION CONTROL/WRENCH...) Fail Let me know if you need anything else. While driving my 2010 Ford Fusion, on five separate occasions (two times less than a week apart) and over the last five months, while stopping for traffic lights, traffic or pedestrians the brake pedal travelled just inches from the floor and extra effort was needed in attempt to activate the brakes hoping to come to a complete stop. On two jarring instances collision was avoided only by swerving the vehicle to keep from hitting a wayward pedestrian and the other instance was with another vehicle backing out in a mall shopping center. On all five occasions there was an associated amber ABS light on the dash, a sudden drop in brake pressure and severely degraded to no braking power during application. The brake fluid reservoir is appropriately filled with the manufacturer specified DOT 3 brake fluid and there are no leaks in the system whatsoever. I-??ve been told at the Ford dealership that my vehicle will not be able to be inspected or seen by appointment for a little over 2 months (late Oct 2022). I-??ve contacted Ford-??s customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and they stated that my VIN# is not included in the recall: 19S54. It-??s apparent that my vehicle is experiencing all of the identical issues which prompted the Ford recall 19S54. Please assist so the Ford Fusion community can resolve this issue before another catastrophic event occurs.

I own a 2010 FORD FUSION HYBRID. The ABS light, the Brake light, the Service Advancetrac, the Wrench, Etc. all were illuminated when the car on. While attempt to brake the brake pedal was depressed and I have to push hard on the pedal in order to make the car stop. I took the car to The Ford Store Morgan Hill (17045 Condit Rd. Morgan Hill, CA 95037 408-816-2332) and was informed that the failure might related to NHTSA campaign number: 19V904000 (Servive Brakes, Hydraulic). However, the VIN was not included.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that when attempting to depress the brake pedal, it would touch the floorboard. The brakes service warning light had illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who replaced 2 calibers and the brake pads but the failure persisted. The contact took the vehicle to another certified mechanic who stated that the calibers had blown the brakes on the vehicle due to a lift failing to close causing brake fluid to get inside. The entire ABS system needed to be replaced however the vehicle had not been repaired as of yet. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

Brakes are exhibiting issues with long brake pedal travel and sponginess. This has started within the last few weeks where it is off and on but is continuous now. The dealer has the vehicle and diagnosed it as an issue with the HCU or ABS system. My mom was driving it and had difficulty stopping the vehicle due to long brake pedal travel. I saw there was a previous recall 19S54 on the same year model that was produced at the same plant. However Ford will not fix it since the production date was two months after the original affected date. The campaign ended with vehicles produced up to July. Hers was produced in September. Since the dates were not the same they would not cover it even if it was the exact same issue on the recall.

After going over a rough patch of pavement on the road, I felt the brakes give out and completely reach the floor almost as if there was no pressure in the pump. Now, the brakes go all the way down when trying to brake and it still stops the car but it shouldn't do that. I've read others online had the same issue with the brakes.

Out of nowhere, my brakes malfunctioned with the pedal sinking low to the floor. Several lights went off including check brake system, traction control and ABS. This issue seems to be exactly related to a current recall involving ABS on 2010 Fusions but doesn't appear to apply to the Hybrid model. The issue is intermittent.

The breaks pedal on my Fusion just goes straight to the floor and can barely stop the car when its in drive and not giving any gas. A recall was issued on this model of a car but my car wasnt included for some reason. I am having the same issue with the ABS as the recall. Do your job NHTSA and make ford recall it on all fusions before someone dies. Ive already spent a ton of money on replacing all the brake pads, rotors, master cylinder and now have to replace the ABS system.

There is a recall for some vehicles manufactured near the time of this particular vehicle-??s manufactured date for the ABS control unit. The valves stick causing unsafe breaking conditions. This particular vehicle exhibits the same behavior as described in the recall but this VIN is not showing up as one of the recalled vehicles for this problem. It is recall 19V904000 issued on December 12, 2019.

When driving I am having to push my break peddle to the floor in order for my breaks to finally activate and begin to slow the car down if breaks will work at all at time. This is intermittent but is happening more often and has almost causing multiple wrecks. I was told it is the Hydraulic Control Module by a multiple professionals. This is also recalled on 2010 Ford Fusion models but does not include vehicle at the moment.

I believed my 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid MFG date: 08/09 fall under Recall NHTSA 19V904000. However, I did not receive any letter notification and/ or notice. I called the dealership and they-??re asking for $200 something for diagnose then go from there. Is there anyway can confirm that my car under the recall so I get fix without any charge? I-??m leaving on budget, cannot afford on anything else. Please find the attached pictures.

I was driving down the road the other day in my 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid and my brakes suddenly didn't work. I got the big red flashing message on the dashboard to check the braking system. I had to really stomp on the brake pedal to get it to stop. Very concerning. I had a mechanic come to me and first checked the brake fluid which was still full. But he said it was thicker than it should be, gel like. He then ran the computer scan on it and found that the brake control system?showed a fault indicating a valve stopped working or was stuck open or something. He checked it for an open recall suspecting it would be covered by the Ford 19S54 recall and only found some airbag recall issue. But the recall, that was issued just a few years ago, didn't come up because apparently it only covered vehicles made up through July 2009. Mine was made in I think November 2009. Not that many months apart and given that it exhibited?the EXACT same behavior as the recall indicates, it seems it really should?be extended to cover my car.

Hello, Around 3 years ago, I found out that Ford had a recall on 2010 Fusion for the brakes but my VIN # was not included. About a year and a half ago, I took my car to the shop because my brakes and rotors needed replaced. The mechanic called me to say even though they were all replaced, i still have to push the pedal to floor to stop but there was a recall on your make and model and to contact Ford. I then told him that when I checked a few years ago, it did not qualify. He then called Ford himself and was told the same thing. It cost us almost $900 to repair. Now only a little over a year later, the brakes are very bad and I-??m asking that you please relook at VIN #-??s. It scared me so bad today when I had to suddenly stop and all I heard was grinding and almost rear ended the car in front of me. It made me want to email you to find out if my car can fixed. This problem also causes wear and tear to happen faster because I should not have to replace them already after a short this period of time. Can you please re evaluate my car for the recall and also assistance with repairing the brakes and rotors? I do have the receipt from a licensed shop showing the repair I did already I can send too. Please advise. Thank you so much in advance for your time and help. I truly appreciate it!!

About a month and half ago, I began experiencing issues with my brakes. They just would need to be pressed on more than the norm. I had the front brake pads replaced and still experienced the problem. I then took it to my local mechanic and they stated that the ABS module was faulty and needs to be replaced. I have experienced near crash incidents because of this.
