On Dec 6 this vehicle suddenly lost all braking power, even when the brake pedal was pushed to the floorboard, This happened immediately after the car was driven onto rough payment when exiting a service station after gasoline purchase. The driver was able to bring the vehicle to a stop at curbside without collision or injury. The pavement was dry (no rain) on the day of this incident, . The car was towed to our local ford dealer, . The service technician performed a brake inspection as specified in the repair manual and could not reproduce the problem. The mechanic did not inspect the antilock hydraulic control unit even though we requested such inspection at time of service, This incident is simlar to the hydraulic brake unit failure as described in NTSB recall campaign 19VY904000/ Safety Recall 19WS54. Eiigibility for this recall ended with cars that were manufactured through7/15/2019. Our vehicle was manufactured at THE SAME Hermnosillo, Mex with load date Q8/14;/2009, just missing the recall window by a few weeks. REQUESTED ACTION: EXTEND CLOSING DATE FOR RECALL WINDOW SO OUR DEFECTIVE BRAKES CAN BE REPAIRED ATB NO COST.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at 30 MPH and approaching a stop sign, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard before the vehicle came to a complete stop. The contact pulled into a parking lot, restarted the vehicle, and pumped the brake pedal several times for the brakes to function as needed. The contact stated that the failure recurred intermittently. The contact researched online and linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 83,000.

ABS Valve failed - failure was exactly as described in Ford Fusion Recall 19S54 (extended braking period, unsafe ability to brake quickly, as brakes are depressed and then require further braking in order to stop vehicle). Thankfully, my 16 year old son mentioned the problem with decreased braking performance and immediately upon driving, I took it to be looked at because it was clearly not safe to drive. The ABS valve was detected as the problem, the recall was identified and it was towed to a Ford dealership to inspect. Upon running the VIN, they determined that though the vehicle was made in the same plant as the 19S54 recalled vehicles FOR THIS PART/ valve being stuck open, and being a 2010 Ford Fusion, it was not included in the recall. No one from Ford has been willing to even discuss resolution options. The car is currently undriveable because of the unsafe nature of the failure and the cost to repair is more than the value of the vehicle, putting undue burden on the owner for a known part failure, not to mention the known safety risk. I have talked to the Ford Customer Service department (Jessie: Employee #2079462) and Fuller Ford, Cincinnati, OH. No resolution or concern for the safety of this vehicle has been expressed by Ford leadership or locally, despite the danger this car presents with this part failure (that has already been acknowledged by Ford and NHTSA)

This link is to a video of my 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid that chronically experiences break system failure. This problem seems to be an electrical malfunction as the break system resumes working when the the alerts disappear from the dash. I purchased this Ford in December 2020 and began experiencing this problem in January 2021. This has been an ongoing issue for me and I have taken the Fusion Hybrid to Sunnyvale Ford once for this issue this year without a successful solution to what the malfunction is for my car. After researching this problem online, it was found thousands of fusions are experiencing this problem under a recall for the hydraulic unit for the breaking system. Ford continues to say my vehicle's vin doesn't have a break system recall. However, this very dangerous break system failure malfunction continues to resurface and remains a safety issue. Please see the video of my break system failure in the link below: https://photos.app.goo.gl/pmi7MMFC8fS81Ab56 [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

3 days ago when coming to a stop light, my brakes was not working properly and when it was not going to come to a stop I pressed really hard on the brakes (There was no cars in front of me but if there was I would definitely hit them) and than I felt my brakes going all the way down to the floor. Every since than when I am driving I have to press really hard on the brakes for a long time before it comes to a stop.

Brakes stopped working, pedal went to floor, ABS warning appeared. Took it to repair shop, replaced front and rear pads and rotors, but brakes still did not work, ABS warning again. Took it to dealer who confirmed faulty ABS control unit. Dealer said this car is not covered by a recall of same or similar part in late 2019 as this car is a hybrid and the recalled ones are not. Brakes now work but without power assist. Car has 100,000 miles on it.

Vehicle has less than 100,000 miles and is exhibiting symptoms of a brake issue exactly as described in recall #19V904000. Have had vehicle examined and diagnosed at professional mechanic who determined that all likely causes of issue including master cylinder and air in system, were not the problem. Ford dealer says this vehicle is not under recall but it continues to exhibit the exact symptoms as described. The brake pedal is mushy with excessive travel prior to engaging. In a panic stop situation would likely not stop the vehicle.

There is an existing recall (19V904000) for my model year Ford Fusion vehicles for the ABS control module. The recall is vin specific. The risk is that a valve in the control unit fails to close and the vehicle looses its ability to stop. My vehicle-??s ABS control module has failed due to this sticking valve. I believe my vehicle should be included in the recall due to it having the exact same part as the recalled vehicles and the part failing. Ford is unwilling to fix the problem under the recall.

ABS module malfunctioning consistent with previous ABS module recall despite the car not being on the recall list. Brakes went out as I was turning into a parking lot, nearly hitting the car in front of me. Brake System maintenance light came on and despite changing worn out front brakes and calipers the lights remain on and the pedal requires pressing down on the brakes all the way to the floor to engage the brakes.

I am filing a complaint because Ford has not addressed the open recall regarding the ABS brake issue in a timely manner. Here is the recall I am referring to: Dec 18,2019 Manufacturer Recall Number19S54 NHTSA Recall Number19V904 Recall Status Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available

My brakes have failed three times between November of 2019 and May of 2020. The first incident was while I was backing out of our garage. Without warning, my brakes failed causing me to come to a very slow stop, almost hitting our brick fence. After the brakes failed, the entire dash lit up red. I immediately put the car in park and left it there until the tow truck came to take it to the brake shop. The brake shop inspected it and stated that all the components looked fine and that they could not duplicate the problem. When I went to pick up the car, the mechanic was backing it out of the bay and the brakes failed again. Because they were not sure what would cause it to happen since all the components appeared in good condition, out of precaution, they replaced the master cylinder and bled the brake lines. The car performed well until May of 2020, when they failed again, only this time the car was in drive. My husband had just pulled out of the school parking lot, so he was already at a low speed, but the brakes failed as he tried to stop. As in my experience, the pedal went to the floor before coming to a stop and then the dash lit up in red. He drove the car home and we then had it towed to the dealership. The dealership indicates that there was nothing visibly wrong with the vehicle and they could not replicate the problem, but because the car had 6 codes regarding the brake system, they would need to replace the master cylinder, the module HCU, ABS module, brake booster, and then reprogram the brake system. I've contacted Ford Customer Relations as there were recalls regarding the brake systems on other Fusions, but they can't do anything for me because the car's VIN is not showing any recalls except the airbags. The dealership indicated that I would have to do all of the above repairs or they wouldn't do any at all, as it was a safety issue.

While driving (Luckily) at lower speeds of about 15mph on two separate occasions, lights illuminated on the dashboard (Brake light, Service Advancetrac, and ABS) and the brakes hardly worked at all and had to stomp on them to get the car to slow, who knows what could have happened at highway speeds or traffic. I also have read of HUNDREDS of other reports of the same issues happening at highway speeds as well. There has been a recall so far referencing "19V904000" Though this does cover some of the affected models, the dates should be extended because the same issue covered in this recall is happening to HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS more customers needing the same parts replaced. So in my opinion this is the same issue as the recall and there is plenty of proof and we should look out for the safety of the customers as well as the families on the road traveling.

Out of the clear blue the car Failed to Stop unless pump brakes several times, my Daughter was driving and almost wrecked and made it home safely. Upon safety and recall investigation there was a recall 19S54 Brakes Hydraulic failure for 2010 Ford Fusion however Vehicle Vin was not included. i tried to order the part my self but it could not be sold to me. Ford dealership tried to order the part and could not get it. Called Ford relations and they stated the vehicle needed to be taken to Ford Dealership to be diagnosed to see if the HCU is bad and if so the dealership file an internal claim to cover under the recall. Vehicle was taken to Sames Ford Bastrop TX 78602 and diagnosed that the HCU was bad and met the recall requirements. Internal Paperwork was filed. Part was ordered and arrived 2 weeks later. Vehicle was in the Ford Dealership shop and tech was performing the Air Bag recall at the time. I called to check status and service Center said I would get a call from the service director. Service Director called and told me one of the tech wrecked my car because of the brakes issue since the HCU module was not installed yet. Service director told me they would cover the labor but Ford refused to pay for the HCU module. This clearly meets the Safety recall and now the Dealership has to fix the car from the wreck caused by this recall. I called ford relations and they told me there is nothing they can do to add my vehicle to the recall claim. They stated I would need to write a letter to Ford Consumer Affairs about my situation. My stance is Ford should pay 100%, the dealership diagnosed and now wrecked my car because of the HCU failure and have not had my vehicle in 3 weeks!

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at 35 mph and attempting to make a left turn, the contact attempted to depress the brake pedal however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that the vehicle went over a curb and into a grass field where the vehicle struck a tree which caused damage to the front undercarriage. There was no warning light illuminated. The air bags failed to deploy. There was no medical treatment at the scene however, the contact went to see a doctor the next day for neck and lower back pain. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact was concerned that the failure was related to the recent recall repair that was performed on the vehicle under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 180,000.
