Just adding to the list. Twice in the past two weeks my husband has experienced the same issue as everyone else posting a safety complaint about their 2010 Ford Fusion. He found himself not able to accelerate while driving on the highway. The first time he brought the car into a Ford dealership. They found no issue, and apparently are not aware of the overall issue. This morning (after the second occurrence) he brought the car into a non-dealership auto mechanic - no word from them yet. I am worried about his safety, and frustrated that Ford has not issued a recall given how wide-spread and long-known this problem is.

Car was idling in park. Put car in drive, started moving forward slowly and the engine started to shake, lost throttle control, check engine and wrench lights illuminated. Engine died within about 10 seconds. Turned the ignition off and restarted the car. It ran normally for about 25 feet and exhibited the same symptoms as before. Restarted the car again and was able to limp the car to a suitable parking space about 250 feet away. After sitting for a minute with the car off, I started it again and it ran normal for the rest of the day. I drove to the nearest autozone and had them scan the computer codes. Found P2111 - throttle actuator control.

I was driving to my friends and all of a sudden my car stalled on me. It wouldn't move when I pushed on the gas it just slowed down while my battery light wrench light and engine light came on. It was dead. I shut the car off and turned it back on and it was fine like nothing happened. Less than a mile it did it again on a busy road. I was freaking out and worried about my life on the busy road. So I shut it off again and started and lucky I made to the Ford service before it did it again and decided to have them check it out. The throttle body gad to be replaced and was the reason why my car was acting up. I thank god that I wasn't on the freeway around rush hour time.

While accelerating up a hill or incline, the motor powered down to the point of stalling, whereby I was almost involved in an accident. This has happened twice today, and on one occasion in December 2012, but the specifics I cannot recall.

Three incidences since onset. When accelerating car at approx 20-30 mph car appears to stall. "wrench" light comes on. Unable to press gas, appears as if car does not receive fuel. If able to pull to side, turn car off then back on able to proceed. Diagnosed as a throttle body issue. However will take Ford 2 months to receive this part, and its not under warranty. Under further investigation, appears this is a common flaw with the car. The fact that it is going to take 2 months to get repaired suggests that it is happening too often. Article published 2/25/13 suggests there have been 725K Ford vehicles with similar issue. There needs to be a recall.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the vehicle jerked, hesitated, and made a loud noise while driving 15 mph and making a turn. The wrench light illuminated after the failure occurred. The vehicle began to function normally after it was restarted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and a diagnostic test was performed. The failure was located within the throttle body and the front axle, needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure and current mileage was 63,000.

My car stalled 3 times while driving at various speeds. Took it to local repair shop. Shop was unable to obtain part #ds7Z*9E926 throttle body from 11 dealerships until mid August. I was concerned that any replacement part we would find would also be defective and I didn't want to pay for the repair twice. I called my dealership directly and was told that they had 8 parts in stock, but they were "service only" parts for the dealership service department. I said I already had time and labor invested at the shop and didn't want to have to pay twice. I also asked if the parts they had in stock were "good parts" and asked why they were on backorder almost a month. Not having my car repaired was not an option and I made that clear to the dealership parts department as well as the service department. They finally agreed to sell me the part and assured me that the parts they had in stock were "good parts". I kept all of my paperwork as well as the defective part. Seems like a strong candidate for a recall if 11 dealerships were unwilling to sell this part to local repair shops.

After coming to a stop at a red light, we tried to accelerate, when the wrench light came on and the car lost power, but did not shut off. We could not accelerate, rpms dropped and, luckily we coasted to a safe stop. I put it park and turned it off. After a minute or two, started it up again, the wrench light was off. We went a couple of miles and it did it again. We decided it was unsafe so we brought it home.

Today I was driving through a residential neighborhood at about 20 mph. My car slowly started to lose power. I was able to pull off to the side of a road in a parking lot where the vehicle began to shake violently. I put the car in park and turned the car off immediately. Upon restarting, I was able to begin to drive and the car drove for several miles as normal. Then, the car seemed to lose power again, quicker this time, and shake violently. I was on a busy road with one lane of traffic and could very nearly have been rear ended. It appears to be the throttle body, as so many other reviewers have claimed. What is not understandable is that the part is back ordered. Even though my husband can repair it himself, we'll have to wait for the part and wait to have a car back. As a full time teacher, I am not sure how Ford has not recalled such a consistent issue that takes away from the reliability of their automobiles. I hope someone can address this issue immediately and place a recall on this part. I am so disappointed in Ford products.

Ford should recall the 2010 Ford Fusion. Many incidents have been reported of it, the Fusion, not being able to accelerate while driving. Does someone need to be hurt or, worst before Ford addresses this with something other than a bulletin to repair shops. I loaned my Fusion to my daughter and this happened to her at very busy intersections in Chicago twice in one day. It happened one other time for a total of three times within a one month period. I looked it up on line and found out, I'm not the only one but one of many. With that said Ford should take action on this matter.

I was at a left turn light and when I drove through the light to make the left turn my car started shaking and the wrench light came out. When I was hitting the gas it didn't go so I pulled over and turned the car off. I waited a while and turned it on and it started up fine. So I started driving a little more and it did it again. I turned the car off for a while and I turned it back on and was able to drive it home since I lived close by. The wrench light turned off but the engine light stayed on. I got up that morning and drove it to a neighborhood shop and they said the only thing wrong with it was a security error and that it was fine. I picked it up from the shop and I was able to get down the street when my car cut off. Radio and all the interior lights were on but the car itself cut off and the battery light showed up. I was able to again drive it home. I did some research and I didn't realize how many other people were having this same issue and they said it's the throttle body which would cost about 600 - 800 dollars to fix. There should be a recall on this because this is happening to way too many people and this is a three year old car. I had my daughter in the car both times.

I was in the parking lot at work going about 10 mph when I felt a sudden jerk and I saw wrench with no engine light come on and I was unable to accelerate I was only able to come to a stop and turn the vehicle off and was able to start it up again without a problem. I told my husband thinking it was just a fluke but then 3 days ago he experienced the same think while on the highway. After paying for a diagnostic we found out it was the throttle body. We contacted our dealership and they cannot order the throttle body kit since it is on back order. Now we are being forced to either take a chance and drive the vehicle while waiting who knows how long for a part or purchase a different vehicle.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle independently decelerated. The contact shut the engine off and was able to proceed without failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where the technician stated that the electronic control module would have to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

Traffic slowed suddenly from about 65mph to about 20-30 mph so I had to apply my brakes very suddenly and hard to avoid rear ending someone. Traffic kept moving and I regained a speed of about 40 mph just after this I felt the car make a sudden hard jerk and car started decelerating on it's own. I tried pushing the gas petal, but nothing happened it would not speed up it kept loosing speed and eventually got down to 1 - 2 mph. I pulled the car over into the edge of the right lane so I was partially on grass and on part of the road. I put my hazards on and kept coasting because it felt like the car was going to stall it was shaking and jerking like it wanted to stall out. I stopped the car and left it running I was afraid if I shut the car completely off that it would not re-start again. I then drove the car home with my hazards on doing 1 to 5 mph on the way home for about 2 miles. The wrench tool light had come on when this happened. Once I got the car home I shut it off and restarted and just drove back and forth in my driveway. I shut the car off and on about 3 times and then it seemed to be running normal and the tool wrench light shut off. Not going to drive it until I can get it to the Ford dealer to have it looked at.

Date and mileage of incident are guesses. Has happened on multiple occasions. When driving vehicle on highway or local roads, engine stalls as if it had no power, however, the tachometer indicates engine still running. Each time this occurs, vehicle has to be steered on to shoulder. When pulling onto shoulder, it vibrates tremendously. After it stops, you must put it into park, then restart the engine. Brought vehicle to Goodyear where it was identified as a P2111 fault. It was suggested that it be brought to a local Ford dealer for servicing. Brought to the local Ford dealership a week ago. Confirmed as P2111 fault. Part had to be ordered which took approximately 6 days to receive. As of this complaint, still waiting on service to be completed.

Driving on 295 N bound at approximately 70 mph the engine just stalled...the little wrench light came on along with the engine light. I tried giving it gas but I could not get it to go so I had to fight the traffic to get over to the shoulder and shut it off. I attempted to start it and on the second try it did but felt like it was running on 2 cylinders.so I let it sputter along the shoulder to the exit where I shut it off and let it sit for a few minutes then tried it again, it started and I was able to get it to a advanced auto parts store where they plugged in the tester and got a throttle actuator error code.I got it started and it drove ok till I got home but haven't used it yet. This car did have a problem a few weeks ago but I thought it was just a glitch because it just ran rough and then went back to normal. Now I'm reading about other Fusion having the same problem.

While driving on at least 6 occasions, vehicle stopped propulsing and had no throttle. A code appeared indicating a throttle/ transmission problem. I contacted Ford, and they indicated this is a known issue with my make and model, and not covered under warranty. After researching this online there are so many problems, the part has been back-ordered months at a time, more than once. This problem has been noted in the 4 and 6 cylinder engines all trim levels. I was going over a bridge and feared for my life. Their should be a recall. This a major safety issue because the vehicle stops without warning, and a driver could be anywhere. Lemon law? thanks in advance.
