I just had to pay 1900. To have my 2010 Ford Fusion power steering fault assist repaired, although it appears the 2011-2012 models are included in the recall. The power steering goes out, and the car is then not able to be driven. If this happens when you are driving you lose complete control of the car. I have owned and driven Ford for over 15 years (Taurus and Fusion) that I bought brand new, and I maintain my garage kept cars. My Fusion has 73,000 miles so the power steering should not go out on my car at no fault of my own. This power steering fault should be covered under a recall before more accidents and occurrences happen endangering peoples safety. I drive with little children in my car regularly and I am thankful I was alone when my steering went out. Please consider including this power steering fault assist problem in 2010 Ford Fusion to be a recall. It is dangerous and very costly to be fixed as I have learned. Thanks for your consideration.

Car stalled in parking lot. Ford dealer said it was the throttle body, and that the replacement was covered under some type of extended warranty. However, I do not have an extended warranty on the car, so I was suspicious. They did charge for a fuel injection service. Research online revealed that this is an ongoing problem with Ford, and there has been no recall of the electronic throttle body. The car can stall at any speed, with potential loss of life. I would like to be part of any further legal action on this. Ford should be held accountable.

Power steering was suddenly lost first time in October of 2015 almost causing me to run into a curb. Second time in November of 2015 fiance was driving and the power steering was suddenly lost power steering light came on only giving us about a five minute warning while he was driving and almost ran into another vehicle. A Ford dealership wanted to charge me over $2,000 to replace entire electronic gear which was not the problem at all. I took it to another mechanic and he said it was the rack and pinion that has gone bad and is going to cost over $1,000 to get a new rack and pinion. He also said that the loose rack and pinion was causing the powering steering hose to leak.

Last year I had the throttle body recalibrate and cleaned. After receiving the extended warranty, Ford replaced the part at no cost. It has been not even a year yet and my car is experiencing the same problems. I was at a stop light and my vehicle stalled our and the wrench light came on as well as some other lights. The light turned green and from what I remember from the other 1000 posts, they said to turn the car off and restart it. That's exactly what I did. It obviously occurred a few more times as well. I took it to the dealer and my bill was 1,000 dollars. They changed a purge valve which was stuck open. Therefore, allowing the gas to flow directly to the canister. They also mentioned how dirty the engine was and recommended that I get a flush done on the vehicle. I declined because I knew that carbon was coming from the throttle body. Anyways, the vehicle is very unstable and unsafe. When I step on the gas pedal, it takes a good 7 seconds to accelerate and therefore possibly causing a crash, especially trying to merge on the parkway. I went through this a year ago and ever since spent over 6,000 dollars in repairs. Not to mention the motor mounts which break pretty often. It looks as though the transmission is going to jump out of the vehicle. I called Ford and explained that my car was experiencing throttle body issues again and they said that once it's fixed, the warranty is up and I have to pay out of pocket. This is ridiculous! their cars are unsafe. What if I was one of the victims where the car stalled while driving? I know this has happened. Please look into this vehicle, it is not a safe car.

I was driving down the highway and a red triangle light comes on that says to stop safely. The engine shut off. I had to pull over and turn car off. Once I started it back it starts fine but continues to turn off very few miles. This is a major problem and puts my families lives at risk. No lights are on after I turn car back on. This is very serious and can cause my family to die in a car crash. Thankfully the hybrid engine still works which lets me slowly pull over but my speeds on the interstate goes from 70 to about 30 really fast and puts us in a very dangerous situation. Please help me fix.

While stopped at red light and stop signs attempting to turn, the vehicle would rev itself corresponding with a rapid increase/decrease in RPM. Upon acceleration the car would stutter and the engine turned off while allowing me to enter the intersection resulting in very close calls. This has been recurring with more frequency.

I was driving on the interstate in the passing lane when my vehicle stopped accelerating. I had no way to give gas to the car. I managed (luckily) to pull over to the breakdown lane. The car was running roughly with no way to give it gas. I shut it off and restarted it successfully and was able to continue. This happened several times over several days. The local parts store checked the codes and it was the P2111 throttle body actuator. I found out also that it was under extended warranty for that part. I made arrangements with the local Ford dealer to have it repaired. I do not understand why my life was put in danger with a known very serious defect. Why didn't the NHTSA make Ford do a recall? an extended warranty just postpones the time that the event will happen. I noticed that there were many people that had reported the same problem.

I was going down the road at 25 mph and the steering failed. Power steering was going in and out, and was mostly out. I had to pay for a new steering gear assembly - despite the fact that there seemed to be many, many, many vehicle recalls for steering on the Ford Fusion. The dealership and Ford was unwilling to pay for the replacement part and labor. I had to pay a total of $1833.57 for the steering, labor, and for the alignment. I am hoping that I will be reimbursed from the dealer for the the parts.

While driving (8/8/15) on I-65 at approx. 75mph, the RPM's dropped and there was no response from the throttle pedal. After carefully making our way to the shoulder, it was noticed that charging system and throttle control/transmission indicator lights had turned on. I turned the vehicle off and upon restarting, everything appeared to be working as it should. The above was the second instance of this malfunction. Previously (June 2015), while driving in city traffic at approx. 30mph, the RPM's dropped and the throttle pedal became unresponsive. After turning the vehicle off and back on, functionality resumed. Over the next 15miles back home, this occurred three more times at speed between 25 ~ 55 mph. At all instances, the throttle control/transmission indicator light turned on, but then turned off after restarting the vehicle.

My 20 year old daughter and two friends were traveling back from the campground heading back to one of the friends house for the night. They had decided to stop by a coffee shop just around the corner from where they were heading. When she went to make the turn from the highway into the parking lot the car lost all power steering. She managed to get the car into a parking space and no one was injured nor was there a wreck. She stated to me that the car was fine no problems at all until she slowed to make the turn into the parking lot that when the power steering went out and a message came up on the dash along with the traction control symbol. There were no warning signs before the problem accrued just happened at the snap of your finger.

As I was driving about 70mph on the interstate, I lost acceleration. The rpms dropped and I wasn't able to get any response from the gas pedal. Luckily, traffic was light and I was able to make my way over to the shoulder and turn the car off. After doing this, the car started back up and I had acceleration again. Once I returned home, I looked this up online and found many references to the recall on the electronic throttle body. I only drove it a couple more times while waiting for the part to come in and I stayed in town. The incident occurred one other time in the 6 days it took for my part to be ordered, delivered, and repaired. Since Ford only wanted to reset the throttle body rather than replace it, I paid for it myself and had my dad do the work. I'm very lucky that the interstate wasn't crowded and that I wasn't in the busy city when this happened.
