Fusion

  • 74,500 miles
I currently have owned my 2010 Ford Fusion for about a year now. I love my car but I have one problem. Today February 3rd, 2018 my driver side power seat has stopped moving forward or backwards. I had brought my seat all the way back while cleaning my car and now that I am going to drive I went to bring my seat forward again and it will no longer move. I can barely touch the pedal and it is my only way of transportation. This is a safety hazard. I went to have it checked out but no Ford dealer ships would take me to diagnose the problem so I had to go to a different mechanic. I was informed that the motor was bad and in order to fix it at a reasonable price they would have to go to a junk yard and find an other 2010 Ford Fusion with the same exact seat to take the motor out of that seat and put it in my car. I thought this was crazy im going to pay 500$ for them to put an old part in my car. So I then called westborough Ford in Massachusetts to ask them if they can get me the motor and what the cost was. They then continued to tell me that you guys no longer sell the motors seperatly and if I wanted the motor I would have to spend a thousand dollars on a whole new freaking track and motor assembly for my car and would not just get me that one motor that is bad. I am beyond frusterated because the motor should not be just crapping the bed if once its set, its set. Its not one of those things that is adjusted every single day. I am very disapointed in Ford and would like the problem fixed asap.

I had a new battery placed and the oil changed with my local mechanic. I drove 3.5 miles home and, upon turning into my neighborhood, a red "stop safely now" alert flashed. There was no traffic so I proceeded to my home. Approximately 0.2 miles later the car lost acceleration, continuing at 10mph (even with the gas pedal to the floor) before losing all acceleration. I turned the car off and back on. The alarm had cleared. I restarted the car and drove 300 feet when the alarm recurred. I was 50 feet from my driveway so I restarted the car, cleared the alarm and went 15 feet before it recurred, with no ability to move in drive or reverse. I restarted the car a third time and the alarm had cleared again. I was pulling up my driveway at a significant incline when it recurred. I was able to make it up my driveway and park. I called my mechanic and, after a quick on-line search, he informed me there was Ford technical service bulletin 12-5-14 on this specific issue. This was an extraordinarily dangerous situation. This incident occurred without warning. In other circumstances-my wife or children in the car, driving on the highway, driving in rapidly moving traffic- my family's well-being would have been placed at great risk. Ford should not be allowed to jeopardize the safety of my family for a problem they are clearly aware of and are not addressing, I assume to minimize financial losses. What is being done to hold Ford accountable for ensuring the safety of their customers and other drivers on the road who are also placed at risk by this design flaw Ford acknowledges?

While driving upon acceleration increase of speed and slowing down there is a loud wining sound. When driving the vehicle for 15-20 minutes I can smell fuel inside the car. This is not when filling fuel it's while the car is driven for a length of time each day. The battery goes dead when sitting for one to two weeks. We have purchased 2 batteries in 1 year, had cables and connections cleaned and replaced. There has been messages coming up for "check engine" and the fan is noisy when the air or heat is turned up.

I have a 2010 Ford Fusion with less than 80K miles on it. The power steering went out on this vehicle while my wife was driving with our 3 year old in the backseat. She was barely able to get it off the road, as well as return the vehicle home. This is extremely dangerous! the only warning light that turned on was the service power steering message and the service advancetrak message. I took the vehicle to my mechanic they were able to see trouble codes, and cleared them. The drove the vehicle about 15 miles and were not able to replicate the problem. We picked up the vehicle 7/11/17 and drove 15 miles home and left for the night. 7/12/15 the morning of, my wife proceeded to drive the vehicle 3 miles and sure enough same problem happened to her while driving. For the life of me I cannot understand this issue. Why is there a recall for the 2011 vehicles but not for 2010, which from my understanding is what sparked the entire recall period. Ford needs to remedy this issue, or provide a fix for the vehicle.

Takata recall. The recall date for the airbag recall was June 2016 and it has now been nearly a year and Ford still has "no remedy" for this recall. This is extremely dangerous in the case of an accident. In addition, I was not notified of this recall or the electronic throttle body issue that my car also has but now is past the "extended warranty" and they will not fix for free, despite me having made a complaint about it in the past. Last week, I was on the freeway traveling at 70 mph, my car suddenly stopped accelerating and slowed down rapidly. I had been lucky no one was closely following behind me and I was in the right lane and quickly could pull over or I could have been hit from behind at a very fast speed because of the etb failing. I have never been notified of any of the safety issues that my car has. Ford has failed to notify me and I feel that because they did not send me anything, even though they have my address and email, they put me at risk of an accident that could have led to serious injuries.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the vehicle was slow to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed and idled extremely low. The vehicle suddenly surged at a high rate of speed. The contact had to coast the vehicle off the road and restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who was unable to replicate and diagnose the failure. The contact received notification of a manufacturer service campaign for the electronic throttle body extended coverage, but the dealer refused to provide the manufacturer's solution to repair the vehicle. My Fusion suddenly lost power while driving with engine oil light and battery light on. Luckily there's no car on that road at that time, I stopped the car and turn off and on the car again, then everything was back to normal. But this could be very dangerous. I took my car to dealer and they could not recognize the problem since the engine light was not on when I brought it in. Well, will try another dealer. I loved my first 2006 Fusion so I bought this 2010 Fusion, this problem and how Ford handled it (making it a extended warranty instead of a recall) changed my mind, my next sedan will not be a Ford, period.

I had a low tire not flat I was driving down my alleyway slowly and hit a small pot hole on my way to go get it filled with air at the nearest gas station when all of the sudden I lost all power steering and the alarm came on saying power steering failure or something to that matter I am a big fella I was able to man handle the car to the nearest gas station with no power steering with my 1 year old daughter in the back seat. I then filled the tire manhandled the car to her day care then up the street to the closest auto shop. Where I dropped it off. And was late to work having my brother come pick me up I was stressed out of my mind because I read how expensive it was to replace luckily the mechanic had a employee who had dealt with it before and was able to pop the steering column out of the jammed sequence it was in and he said he had seen it over and over again. Which cost me about 200 bucks alot better than 2000. However after that my car was not the same come to find out my wheel bearing had failed about 6months later and some arm was bent costing me 800 dollars I believe this was due to that issue I had prior I am pissed about this finding out how many of these cars are doing this. I believe that Ford should pay to replace their faulty unsafe steering axel and columns.

Door ajar light and sound comes on constantly while driving. Also when parked and the car is locked it consistently sets off the car alarm. I can't lock my doors anymore. Dealerships don't want to get involved in the expense or trouble of fixing. They lie and tell me it's fine.

I was with my kids in the car driving to a recreational league basketball game and my tire light indicator came on. I stopped at the gas station to put air in the front right driver side tire because that the one that looked like it needed air. After I completed that task the advancetrac indicator came on and then went off. I drove on the highway to the event and noticed that at times the turning was getting difficult. I got to the gym and turned into the lot without incident. I played my game came out and began to go home when before I could back out the "service power steering " message came across the dash. The car then became almost impossible to drive. I didn't want to take any chances with my kids in the car, so I called my wife to come get us and left the car. The next day I went for the vehicle but it took 1.5 hrs to get home which normally would be 25 minutes.I haven't drive the car since then and am highly upset that it seem as though this is a common problem for this vehicle and has caused injury and death. Why was there not a recall for the power steering if its a known issue?

I have been experiencing issues with my power steering assist in my vehicle. The steering wheel automatically locks while either trying to drive (stationary) and while driving (in motion) the vehicle. The Ford company has not released a recall for this issue, however there is a class action lawsuit for this very issue with motorists owning the same make and model vehicle who are experiencing the electric power wheel assist issue. I have found other sites where motorists have explained the same issue of the steering wheel locking/not working during the time of someone driving, turning the wheel, or simply preparing to drive the vehicle. I am expressing my deep concern for national safety as many americans have purchased this vehicle and are driving on the roads! I pray this recall can occur before someone may experience a fatality leading to death. I have uploaded a picture of my very own vehicle experiencing the power steering assist fault.

Power steering. This is 7th time I taking my car to the dealership in the past 2 years, and 3 times this just past month. Ive been told I new steering wheel has been put on and the same issue keeps coming back. I have never had any other problems with my car besides the [xxx] power steering failing. What is Ford going to do about this.!!!!!!? or are they waiting for someone to die before they do something about it.
