Ford Motor Company notified me on July 1,2016 of a recall involving takata passenger side air bags. I have called my dealership every month since then and also called Ford Motor Co. Customer service. Every time I call ; all of the answers are the same. Parts are not available. I have also been advised to park my car and not to use it until such parts are available. Today I made my calls to both my dealership and to Ford. Both gave me the usual answer. No parts are available. I received in today's mail a notice of takata's bankruptcy. What are we supposed to do? we are in our mid 70's and can not afford to replace our 2010 Ford Fusion. Nor can we afford to park it and lease another car.

"takata recall" I was notified in June 2016 of the recall and have not heard anything else on the matter. I live in Texas and shouldn't I be on the higher priority list" it shouldn't take this long for the repair especially since it is putting the public's safety at risk!!! if they are still manufacturing these parts then why is it taking so long" these repairs should be priority #1 and it doesn't seem like they are.

Takata inflators. We were mailed an "important safety recall" letter on June 15, 2016 and received another one in July 2016. This is October 2017 and our air bag recall situation has not been taken care of! when I have called our local Ford dealer, where we purchased our car, to ask when this would be repaired, I have been told that there is no remedy yet, but to be assured, I would be the "first one called when there is, " and this statement was insignificant to me, even useless. Everyone with this problem, given the warnings, should be at the top of the list, not just instructed to simply "not use the front passenger seat" until the airbag is replaced! I was strongly urged to not have anyone sit in the front passenger seat until this problem has been taken care of. My Ford Fusion has been the favorite car I have owned! it's primary purpose is for my husband and I to travel and to spend time with our grandchildren and other family members. Riding "chauffeur" style with my husband when we travel is not why we purchased this car! I could understand a week or two, or possibly a month, but 16 months with no end in sight is ridiculous! when I want to have a day out with my friend, it is embarrassing to ask her to sit in the back seat for her safety. This issue has strongly affected my desire to purchase another Ford product, and we have purchased many Ford vehicles! my father-in-law retired from Ford Motor Co. Please correct this problem asap! the date I have entered below as "date this happened" refers to the first date that we were issued notice that the front passenger airbag recall was in place. Thank you for your time and efforts to correct this situation for us immediately, safely, correctly. P.S. we have had multiple recalls on various parts of our 2010 Ford Fusion.

Takata recall notified over a year ago - no action taken yet. Dealer refuses to disconnect the air bag. I have lost the use of the passenger seat in my car. You need to have congress or someone authorize disconnection of the air bag. This is ridiculous. Better yet - replace the [xxx] air bag now!! I'm sure Ford could find some alternate product to replace this.
