1. The head gasket on my 2018 Accord LX 1.5t was lifting and causing a leak of coolant to enter cylinder #3 and therefore burned one of the valves within the cylinder. 2. Safety issues that I experienced was the car stalling randomly while driving causing me to have to pull over in unsafe locations. 3. A Honda dealership has confirmed the burnt cylinder valve and recommended a head gasket and cylinder valve replacement. 4. No police or insurance agency has inspected the vehicle/parts, only a Honda dealership and private mechanic. 5. The were all the dashboard lights that came on but the car had stalled immediately after without much time to prepare.

honda has yet to fix the fuel pump issue after issuing recall on the fuel pump over a year ago. I've been by the Honda dealership numerous times trying to get this recall fixed. Now i am having many issues with my car and i can't even drive it at this point. The Honda dealership told me that I have a cracked head which has caused may other issues. There is known issues with the 2018 Honda accord 1.5t that Honda has to even acknowledge. There wasn't an accident thankfully quick thinking on my behalf. There are many issues that Honda had refused to acknowledge and as single woman living off one check and still paying for my car, recently fired because it's now hard for me to get to work because i do not make enough to uber to work and pay my monthly bill it's caused me many issues and lots of out-of-pocket expenses. Now as I am trying to find a remote job that i don't have to drive into I am desperately trying to not lose my house which is almost out of my control and will be homeless because of this known issue that Honda has known about and has yet to do anything about. i have loved my car and to the point I was thinking about trading in and getting a brand new one and would have been Honda fan the rest of my life this has ultimately ruined my life, and I am hating this decision to buy one from the get-go. This should be illegal, and Honda should be held responsible for fixing this issue which has cost me almost my whole life. The fuel pump has failed which either indirectly or directly has affected the head gasket, and every light is lite up on my dashboard and goes into limp mode when trying to go. the warnings that are up are the emissions, the electrical warning has been on for years and no could or can find out why. I've taken it into the Honda dealership & other repair shops trying to get this fixed, but no one can figure it out. I can accelerate to get up to speed and it tells me to not brake hard, on top of the other warnings this has caused to come

Head Gasket failure. This causes the car to begin misfiring/stalling while accelerating. This is seriously dangerous. It happens when you are accelerating. Then, since it's an emission/misfire issue, the car goes into limp mode and forces the car to no longer exceed the limp mode speed, which is usually like 30 or 35 mph.The stark difference from highway speed resulted in me almost getting rear-ended by a semi. This has happened to me on two different occasions and posses a legit safety concern for everyone. You can do a simple 2-second Google search and find an insane amount of people having the exact same issue. I am luckily trained in high stress and ooo sh*t scenarios, so I was able to successfully get the car off the road without dying or getting smoked by a semi or driver not expecting the car that just entered the highway to drastically be slowing down. However, the average person would probably not instinctively hit the hazards and get over/off the road and onto the side. This issue is completely unrelated to the fuel pump recall because if it was a fuel pump failure, the car would never end up in limp mode. Limp mode is almost always emissions related(IE misfiring from head gasket leakage).

I received numerous letters from Honda about the recall on my car since earlier this year. I have contacted Brian Honda in Fayetteville about 5 times already and keep getting the run around or ignored and passed along saying they do not have parts for replacement and for me to keep calling back. When I do call back they do not answer the phone or answer emails. I have an infant in my car and I do not think it-??s safe for me to drive around with a new baby in the car in risk of my car breaking down. One time the advisor asked me if I-??m having problems and I said no not yet and he said yeah hopefully you don-??t while we-??re waiting

Dear NHTSA, I am writing to express my serious concern regarding the significant delay in addressing the safety recall (NHTSA Recall Number: 23V-858) for my 2018 Honda Accord (VIN [XXX] ). Despite multiple attempts to schedule a repair at Hendrick Honda of Charleston, I have encountered repeated delays and a lack of transparency from the dealership. Despite confirming part availability, I have been repeatedly turned away due to excuses such as "repair backlog" or "part shortages." This ongoing issue poses a serious safety risk and is unacceptable. I urge NHTSA to investigate this matter and take immediate action to compel Honda to prioritize the repair of affected vehicles and improve communication from their dealerships regarding the recall progress. Attached are email confirmations of previous service appts to repair this specific safety recall. Also attached is the Carfax open recall report for my vehicle, which I was first notified of on 1/17/24. Note: These documents do include previously cancelled appts due to the lack of communication and transparency from dealership. Thank you for your time and attention to this urgent matter. My vehicle will randomly lose power while driving, lights will flash and then car will just stop and turn off. Try to turn car back on and all these lights are flashing and engine light stays on with codes. Taken my car to performance Honda MULTIPLE of times, paid to get it towed, Honda continues to say they don-??t know what-??s wrong with it. I-??ve recorded videos of my car losing power and given them to Honda and they still couldn-??t provide any answers after having my vehicle for 6 months on and off. My car continued to do the same thing all over again after Honda ended up putting used spark plugs in my car and I returned my car to Honda again. They replaced fuel pump and I made it 30 minutes home and my car broke down in the middle of an intersection on the highway again and all my fuel was all over the road. Honda came and got my car again. Car is not even reliable to have my kids in. This has been the worst vehicle I-??ve ever owned and no dealer will even let me trade the car in because of all the recalls this model has had and how many customers have complained. I-??m at a total loss and now a loss of a vehicle I have to pay on and can get rid of it for something safe to have my kids in. I-??ve only had this car for 3 years and the last two years have had the same continuous problems with no explanation. Honda just clears the codes and gives the car back every time they have it. I-??ve had to call 911 to have cops come and block my vehicle on the highway because it-??s broken down with me and my kids in the car and my car wouldn-??t start so I could move it. Honda knows about the continuous problems and has record of having none stop. No lights or anything on prior to car just losing power and turning off or not going over 20 mph and going into limp mode.

My head gasket and yes it-??s available as long as the shops local. Can-??t really drive it also I put fuel because a part of the problem is Honda recommending running 87 for fuel in manual and for a turbo car with direct injection that is part of the reason that-??s causing this too happen too soo many 1.5t Accords! As far as safety it-??s very dangerous, I went into limp mode multiple times on the highway and when that happens losing power on the highway is dangerous but having to pull over on the side of the highway is VERY dangerous!! Yes it has happened over and over and goes into limp mode just about everytime driven and yes a dealer has seen it. Yes every time it-??s happened the dash lights up like a Christmas tree with check engine light! It started in Sept!!

I was attempting to accelerate on the acceleration ramp to merge into traffic on the interstate, when my vehicle began violently jerking, and suddenly lost all power. My check engine light came on and it went into limp mode. This has happened twice now. Both times I was able to make it safely into the shoulder of the road with my hazard lights on. I turned the vehicle off, reset it, and have had to drive it since. The warning lights are on and off, depending. They-??ve had since December of 2023 to release a recall and they haven-??t yet. I need a remedy.

I have a 2018 1.5 Touring with 94k (bought 5 years ago with 7k miles. Religiously performed all maintenance including oil changes and transmission fluid. I started having this issue on and off about 2k miles ago. This is an intermittent problem. Sometimes the car runs great with no problem...then the next time I start the car there is a rough idle and I get the shuttering/jolting/jerkiness (feels like the engine is misfiring) when the engine revs over 2.5k rpms or so. Out of habit, I typically drive in eco mode as I drive mostly highway miles. I also noticed that this is less of an issue in sport mode. If the jerkiness starts, keeping the car under 2k rpms avoids any additional jerkiness. If I accelerate, I will get one of two results: - The first is limp mode, which I can solve by pulling over, turning the car off, turn the car back on and the check engine light goes away...and the car may or may not be jerky again. - The second is limp mode with a Christmas tree of lights on the dash and warnings in the tachometer display area - which cycles through the following system problems: "Brake System", "Vehicle Stab Assist", "Hill Start Assist", "Adaptive Cruise C System", "Collision Mit Braking System", "Road Departure Mit System", "Emission System", "Electronic PS System ". If I turn the car off and back on, the error lights and messages still appear. I can clean the codes (P0302 cylinder #2 misfire) with my scanner, then the messages and lights go way...and the car may or may not be jerky again. I took the car to an experience independent shop that works primarily on Hondas. My mechanic had not seen this issue before. He test drove it and (luckily) experienced the issue. I asked him to install the new spark plugs that I bought from Honda. He also swapped coil packs around and had the same issue. He pulled the codes before and after the new plugs and swapping the coil packs around and the code was still on Cylinder #2.

Subject: Urgent Concern Regarding Parts Availability for Fuel Pump Motor Safety Recall (Exp2) -?" 2018-2020 Honda Accord 2.0T Dear NHTSA, I am reaching out to express my concerns regarding Honda's lack of parts availability for the Fuel Pump Motor Recall on the 2018-2020 Honda Accord 2.0T. This recall addresses a critical safety issue with the fuel pump, which could cause the engine to stall unexpectedly-?"a significant hazard to drivers and passengers alike. It is troubling to note that while Honda has continued to produce and release new vehicles for 2024 and 2025, they have not been able to provide the necessary parts to repair recalled models already on the road. This discrepancy raises serious questions about the prioritization of safety, as new production vehicles seem to take precedence over the repair needs of existing owners affected by this recall. As a Honda owner, I rely on my vehicle daily, and this delay has caused considerable inconvenience and concerns for my safety. I am seeking guidance on Honda's obligations in this situation and any additional steps that owners can take to expedite these necessary repairs. If there is anything that NHTSA can do to encourage Honda to prioritize the availability of these parts, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Everyday the vehicles struggles to pick up on speed and stalls out. I am often holding up traffic because I-??m driving to slow. I have to very very very slowly accelerate so that the car doesn-??t stall. When the trying to accelerate it often skips and jerks while driving. I often wonder if this will affect me while driving on the interstate. I fear that a bad accident is on the horizon with these issues. Could you please help. I-??ve tried multiple times since last December to get the car fixed and Honda refuses to fix my vehicle even though I received a letter in the mail saying more repair parts are available.

I-??ve been trying to get my part replaced since August and I-??ve been hundreds of dollars in between that time till now WASTING MONEY! And I-??ve been told by 3 different dealerships that because I wasn-??t experiencing what they considered major issues that they decided to not see me for the recall based off the information provided. I spoke with someone yesterday that I spoke to weeks ago about the same thing, and was told they didn-??t have the part then when I asked to speak to a manager, he put me on hold and told me the part was in. I haven-??t been able to drive my car since last Friday. It-??s a huge inconvenience, as getting this part replaced would eliminate that issue I had to beg and threaten ppl jobs to get it replaced! But the amount of money I-??ve wasted and fallen behind on MY BILLS IS CRAZY!!!!!! Honda should be cutting me check for the money loss as result so I can pay on things I had to wait on.. or create arrangements for along with having to ask my family for help because of the money I-??ve been wasting the last two months

At 53,000, I began getting simultaneous errors light up the dashboard. I code reader indicated I had misfires on cylinder 3. Replaced spark plugs even though the originals are rated to near 100,000 miles. Ended up needing to have fuel injectors replaced by the dealer for $1300. Upon further research, this seems to be a common problem for these 1.5T engines caused by either faulty injectors or engine design. I purchase Honda for reliability and do not expect this kind of issue on a vehicle with that low of mileage. Honda should extend the warranty and offer reimbursement to those affected by this issue.

The fuel pump system in my Honda Accord 2018 Lx failed causing my car engine to turn off while I was driving on the express lane which then caused my car to spin out and slam my backside of the car into the wall. I was driving alone in the car with my seatbelt on and was able to blow my horn to alert other drivers to slow down. The vehicle was only inspected by the policer officer who arrived on scene and took notes of the incident. There was no warning lamps or messages of the problem prior to the failure. I was only cognizant of this fuel pump issue from the recall letter.

The problem first started on 8-8-24 when I cranked up my car & the dashboard lit up with all of these different sensors. I called Leith Honda dealership in Aberdeen, due to that is where I take my car to be serviced at, my customer service rep (Brian) stated to wait to see if they would stay on, because of that type of car will reset itself. So later on, that day they did, go away after driving it a while. Then a sensor popped up on 8-10-24 & stayed on for just a day, then came back off again. I called again & he stated to wait again so that the car can be diagnosed, but it had cut off again. So, a few days had gone by & in the middle of driving on the highway while going 60 mph, all of the same sensors came back on & the car would not go over 40 mph due to one of the main sensors stating "Emission System Problem. Avoid Heavy Acceleration & High Speed. See Your Dealer." Along with my 21MONTH old baby in the car! DANGEROUS! My job (travel CNA) requires me to travel from facility to facility & I need my car to be reliable. The rep said it really sounds like the recall part that is going bad in my car needs to be replaced & until it stays on sticks; there is nothing that can be done. I beg to defer! Is it going to take for me to get into a car accident & jeopardize my daughter & I safety in order for the part to be replaced, after what the recall notification states that can be done while operating the vehicle. Along with the recall stating that they are only willing to replace the part for free if the car is potentially life threating or inoperable. The fact that they are taking their time replacing these parts is dangerous or mindful at all. I love my car, but I am not willing to put my daughter's life, or mine nor anyone else's life in danger by continuing driving this car and still having to pay for it. I deserve for this part & anything else that is affected, due to the part needing to be replaced. Thank you for resolving the issue.
