I was traveling to houston Texas on April 17, 2020 when I noticed my service engine check light went on. I had just passed sweetwater Texas so I drive to the nearest autozone which was located at store #1367 311 E commerce, brownwood, Texas 76801and had it checked they said it was fuel rail system pressure was too low. This is when I discovered it had a recall on it for the same thing. Do I need to return to dealership I bought from and are they responsible for selling car as is with a recall on it. The recall was issued one day after I purchased vehicle. I'm still driving vehicle and do not have the money to get it repaired myself. I was driving on the highway at the time of all this.

The engine seized on July 31 while on vacation. We were driving into merced, ca, on highway 140, and had accelerated to pass a line of cars when the engine quit. We were able to get to the side of the road and had aaa tow it into merced Hyundai. Hyundaiusa agreed it was a factory defect and paid for the replacement, and ultimately a rental car for us to use (they also reimbursed the cost of the rental we had to use before they authorized the repair). The engine was replaced at that dealership (after 5 weeks of calling just about every day and being ignored). We picked it up on Sept. 6. once at home, a problem with the fuel rail was discovered. Our local dealer 'fixed' it, and when we picked it up the turbo no longer worked and the catalytic converter quit functioning. We are trying to get the dealer to fix it or buy it back at their cost, since we feel it was negligence on their part. We loved the car before the engine seized, but since the 'repair, ' it has been nothing but trouble.

I took my car in to the hyundia dealership for a recall for heavy oil consumption; they told me the catalytic converter went out because it was clogged, I told them if it was clogged it was due to the oil loss that made it way into the catalytic converter. The hyundia corporation refused to fix the engine or catalytic converter.

Hello. My car started to get a very strong gas smell coming from the engine compartment so I made an appointment to the dealer to have them check it. The day of my appointment I could barely breath because the small of gas was so strong. I opened up the hood and I saw gas spilling all over my engine. I could not believe what I was looking at. If I had been driving my car would have caught fire. The main gas line from the tank was leaking most of the gas over the engine. The repair was over a thousand dollars. I think Hyundai should be held accountable. These defective gas lines are the reason why so many of these cars are catching fire.

The car was parked overnight. The next day I went to start my car and smelled overwhelming gas fumes. My fuel is being depleted quicker than normal and the smell has only intensified over time. My check engine light never came on. When I lifted the hood, I saw what looked like fuel being spewed out from the high pressure fuel pump. I took my car to Hyundai and was given a $800 quote to fix the part and was never alerted to the fact that there was an open recall related to this matter.

Since buying this car as 2nd owner I have replaced the rear brake bulb 5 times in 1 yr. The wiring seems to be the issue. Last week car literally doesn't start when trying to it sputters and then I have to cut it off to go finally get it to start. Today it turned over but sputtering continues 2 more times when try to to start, then 3rd time it cranks.

In the evening of 07/11/2019 I was driving my 2013 Hyundai santa on the bishop Ford expressway, when smoke began to come out of the hood. I pulled over to the shoulder, and at that time, my car was completely filled with black smoke, and the brakes completely failed, foot went right to the floor. The car coasted until it finally stopped. By this time, the car was in fire. I was able to exit before it completely engulfed in flames. There was no warning to me that this car was going to start on fire. I had the engine replaced 2 years ago because of engine failure. Two engines in 6 years is definitely not normal. I could have been killed in that car.. Hyundai needs to take responsibility.

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that he smelled a fuel odor inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to wolfchase Hyundai (7727 us-64, memphis, tn 38133, (901) 435-9400) and the engine was replaced under a warranty. After the repair, the fuel odor returned and the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The contact stated that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 18V934000 (engine, fuel system, gasoline); however, the dealer ignored it and charged the contact over $1,000 for the repair. The vehicle had not been repaired again and the fuel odor remained. The manufacturer had not been contacted. The failure mileage was 109,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that the engine seized without warning. The vehicle was unable to be driven and was towed to bentley Hyundai (3805 university dr, huntsville, al 35816, (256) 713-0505). The dealer indicated that they serviced the vehicle per an unknown recall campaign; however, the contact was uncertain if the part replaced was a newly designed oem engine assembly. After the dealer's repair, the vehicle continued to slowly accelerate. The dealer was unable to determine a permanent remedy. The contact later received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 18V934000 (engine, fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

I have replaced numerous brake lights and they keep getting melted and burnt out. Im not sure if its the electrical wiring or the actual housing of the brake light itself but this needs to be recalled. I see numerous of the same cars with the same issue. Also during summer months you can smell strong gas fumes throughout the car. As if I was directly breathing in gas. Its that bad. This is not right. This is supposed to be vented out of the vehicle. I have children in the car with me, who get dizzy and sick. This is while driving and while parked.

I've had the car since July of 2017 and about 3 months into owning it I noticed a loss in power during acceleration. I also noticed that while it's parked, after it's been driven, the car makes a popping sound in the engine area. Recently I was waiting in traffic at a stoplight and the car shuddered and acted as if it was going to shut off but then smoothed out. It has happened twice more during idling since then. When accelerating from a stopped position the car doesn't shift smoothly.

After hitting the brakes the brake lights stayed on, after a few minutes the car went to idle without warning, then back to cruise then back to idle and stayed about a minute, then back to cruise, then back to idle. Hyundai is aware of the problem, but not issuing a recall. The problem almost cause a crash with cars going around us. If it would have happen on the freeway it would have been worse.
