Hyundai corporation knew that was a problem with my car and identical cars steering wheel coupler and therefore increased coverage for repair from 50000 miles to 100000 naming ' concern' instead of faulty- defective to avoid recall. They never notified costumers regarding this concern! most inexperienced drivers don't understand the click sound that later turns into clank when part is totally damaged and that time their car is beyond 100000 miles. Hyundai dealerships failed intentionally to notify customers since they have been benefiting charging $380 to $480 to replace $2 part. If you review online complaints you will see similar significant amount of statements. Further more Hyundai corporation and dealerships compromised lives because of vibration of steering wheel can cause major accidents you may obtain copies of repair documents from Hyundai, dealers and owners regarding this ongoing outrages act that took place intentionally to avoid cost, liabilities and benefit from repairs while disadvantaging owners, jeopardizing lives and getting paid for something that should have been ' recalled '. I can give you an example that Hyundai issued safety recall fuel pump that small crack can lead to major problem and no time or millage limits applied. On the other hand steering wheel flex coupler can start as small crack and can cause major problems yet that failed to treat this defect same way and failed to notify customers

I started to notice that the steering has become increasingly loose in March of 2020. Recently while driving over even the smallest bumps in the road the steering wheel has started to rattle and shake and feels like it may come off. I work from home, so the car has not been driven a lot and mostly in the neighborhood where the speed limit is 35 to 55 miles per hour. I asked my local Hyundai dealer to take a look at it while I was there last week (9/22/20) to have a recall fixed and I was told it would be $150 just to look at the steering wheel unless there has been a recall for it. After seeing the many complaints regarding this same issue, this should certainly be fixed by Hyundai via a recall. I was considering replacing my vehicle with another Hyundai next year, but due to this issue, probably not. It is disconcerting to drive a vehicle that the steering wheel feels that it may break. I have never experienced this with any car and I have been driving for 40 years.

The steering has been progressively getting worse over time. Initially I started with my steering wheel locking occasionally. Then started small clicking and clunking noises when turning steering wheel or going over bumps. Now the noise is all lot worse and the steering wheel feels like it wants to come off at times. I have read several complaints with the same issues and yet Hyundai has not admitted this is an issue with these vehicles. I have been basically pleased with this vehicle up until this issue started. A lot of complaints I read was that this started around the 100,000 mile point, which would be correct with me as well, it started just before I hit 100,000 and has continued and progressively gotten worse.
