My Jeep Cherokee keeps repeating the same problems. This has been going on for more than a year. Sometimes I am terrified to drive because I do not know what is going to happen. Today and on other days, the Jeep has cut off on me a few times while in motion on a city street and sometimes when turning. The vehicle slams into gear when driving sometimes and feels like I am getting hit in the rear of the car. It is very dangerous because you don't know when it is going to happen. Today, the Jeep almost caused an accident when it just stopped on its own. Additionally, it often shifts gears erratically and very rough, even jerking at times. The dealership said they did a software update but this did not resolve the issue. I have taken to the dealer at least three times about this issue and I keep getting stalled saying either come back in 500 miles so the can do an oil consumption test or that they cannot duplicate the issue. Each time I take it in they say the did a software update or an oil change. The problem remains.

On date of incident vehicle functioned fine in the morning. At 4:30pm when I went to leave work vehicle wouldn't start. Received several error messages including 4WD system unavailable, park brake unavailable and service shifter. 2 hours later nothing worked. Tried to jump the vehicle and was able to get it started. Had auto zone test battery and said it was fine. Took to dealership and they ran tests finding no cause or issues. Battery passes their tests. Morning after I got vehicle back from dealer it started up via remote start with no issues, took son to daycare 7 minutes away. After about 10 minutes went to leave daycare (vehicle was turned off) and it did not start. Was able to get it to start with a jump. Called dealership to inform them, waiting for a call back now. Check engine light is on.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. While driving 65 mph in the rain, the windshield wiper motor failed and the exterior and interior lighting shut off. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road. Once the vehicle was restarted, the lights turned back on and the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken to bemidji Chrysler center (located at 755 paul bunyan dr nw, bemidji, mn 56601, (218) 751-8006) where it was diagnosed, but a failure could not be found. In addition, while driving 35 mph, the steering wheel seized and the brake pedal failed to stop the vehicle when it was depressed. As a result, the contact crashed into a fence. There were no injuries. A police report was not filed. The dealer was not notified. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The vehicle was able to be driven from the scene and was not diagnosed for the brake and steering failures. The approximate failure mileage was 37,000.

My 2014 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk started having issues where traction control would engage when stopped at a light and it would stay on until the car was turned off. This progressed to an instance where I was stopped at a light and traction control engaged while stopped and the engine stalled. I took the car to the Jeep dealership and the only code was to check wire connections, which they said they did. The car drove fine for about one day, then, while on the highway, the dashboard and radio would start to cut out briefly and come back on. Once I was off the highway and stopped at a light, traction control engaged. At the next light, the car stalled again. I used a code reader and there were no codes available. This could cause an accident if the car loses power when driving at highway speeds.

I bought my Jeep Cherokee 2014 AWD with 60K miles on it. Within in 6 months, my dashboard said service transmission and it was undriveable. The dealership said it was software issue and fixed it. Not even a year later and I had the same issue again and it is now getting a new transmission. Often when driving, it revs very high and goes nowhere, or if I'm cruising a parking lot, its revving very high and will jerk into another gear. Not only that, but I've had know drive shaft bearing ands a new radio put it. The big issue is the transmission and the repeated tows, missing work, late to work, engine shaking, grinding, and now being replaced. I've owned it my own for 1.5 years, am already at this point. Dealership won't replace it, just told me I have it covered under warrantly and oh well. These issues have happened when starting my car in the morning to leave my driveway, won't shift into gear. Driving on the highway attempting to switch lanes and have no acceleration so I slam on the brakes before I get into an accident because I know if it doesn't take off, its not going to until I least expect it.

I first experienced what felt like my transmission wasn't shifting properly right away. I noticed it in lower gears. I took it back to the dealership and they said everything was fine. I then started to experience my engine randomly stalling. I would be going slow and I was usually taking a right turn. I went to turn on my car and it said engine failure. I called the dealership and they said to tow it to them. I received a call that the reason my car ahut off was because there wasn't any oil. I have all my records and my oil had been changed at a dealership less than two weeks prior. So they put oil in it and said I was fine. Within a week my car died turning right on rail road tracks in an instersection. We had to have a police officer come and push us off the tracks and wait for us to get towed. The dealership told my there was a harness that needed to be replaced and it would cost $700! they said that he harness was under my hood when I did research it was discovered that it was in my trunk. They said it needed to be replaced due to water damage. In my trunk? I did research and found this harness was a common issue but it didn't have anything to do with the issues I was having. Now it is a year later and we are having the same issue. My service lights will turn on randomly. My engine stalled on the highway going 70 mph. I am at a loss what to do. My two year old has been in the car with me when this happens and I just want to know my car is safe to drive.

A pop-up message appears that the "vehicle phone requiers service" the gps becomes inoperative and causes loss of gps function. These faults are discussed I service bulletin sb-10058300-8397. This happens intermittently and can occur at anytime. This occurred within the warranty period and but was reported to Jeep 3 days after the warranty period. It was intermittent at the time and I thought it was just a computer glitch. It is now so unreliable that it is useless. Jeep refuses to do anything to support repair of this issue which they know exists. Their U-connect people have been telling me tere is a software fix for this to put me off for six months but have not produced anythng which could fix this. It is time for a recall on this item so that they are forced to take care of their customers. By the way even though they knew there were potential issues with this function of the radio they failed to inform their customers of the problems. If they had iinformed me this problem would have been reported to them 2 months earlier and within the warranty period. This is wrong, just wrong.

While driving on a city street at approximately 45 mph. The vehicle shifted out of gear, lunges and goes again in a jerking/ hesitating manner. Check engine light came on and service transmission light came on. Pulled over put in park and re selected a gear. When doing so it makes a horrific grinding noise and has no power. The battery has been replaced twice since 2014 for a "bad battery" after both of these replacements within 4 months we have now experienced these transmission problems. I stress this is the second time with the transmission issue and also the second time for the battery replacement.

I parked my car in the garage as usually (so vehicle was parked). On top of my garage there is my neighbor's apartment and my apartment is on top of the neighbor's apartment. I am completely sure that, when I came home the night before, I had shut off the car (using the push button- the car has a keyless ignition system) but in the middle of the night the car turned on by itself. We don't know for how long the car was running but it ran enough time to fill my neighbor's apt. With fumes and also the fumes reached my apt. Upstairs where I was sleeping with my daughter. The two of us (my daughter and I) were lucky because I had all my windows open (it was hot that night) but my neighbor ended up in the hospital for 3 weeks. At least 19 deaths have been reported nations wide due to keyless ignition malfunctioning issues. There should be some sort of automatic shut down after a certain amount of time but there isn't one in any car that have this keyless ignition system. Also very few manufacturers have added a beeping or audio alarm to warn drivers they have walked away with the fob but failed to turn off the ignition. I did turned off my car but still it turned on by itself, causing my car to idle in the garage for many hours. I believe the start/stop button on the dashboard of my car is actually malfunctioning. However when I told this to Jeep dealer they said the car is perfect and they want to give me back only $15K. I paid $24K for that very dangerous car! since the incident on September 16th,2017 I have been having anxiety issues and also I had to rely on the goodwill of friends and the use of a friend's car. I now need to move on from this incident and get a car that I can rely on and feel safe parking it in my garage but I want to make sure that these cars are out of the market asap so none will suffer what we suffered.
