The service shifter light comes on and all gears are showing up in red while driving. Turning the vehicle off then back on sets the gear back to normal for only a few minuets, then service indicator light comes back on with all gears illuminated in red. The Jeep has the tendency to jerk forward when placed into park and also during accelaration the transmission seems to lag causing a jerking motion in my Jeep.

Vehicle stopping and shutting off completely while driving (in motion) each and every time on four different occasions. First time it shut off, dealership said it was due to oil change.second time dealership said a recall on the shift gear in which I wasn't notified about the recall. Third time it shut off, dealership says its an oil leakage. Fourth time it stopped, dealership says it needs a new engine. Chrysler refuses to fix it. The last time I took it to the dealership, Chrysler response was take it home and drive it again and bring it back if it shuts off and maybe then we will fix it. I had to have it towed in the last time due to it not starting and smoking in the tail pipe. On two occasions, the radio cut off completely, screen just went black. My car is now at the dealership waiting on approval from Chrysler to get fixed. This Jeep is very unsafe, dangerous, and a safety hazard for my son and I. it has put me and my sons life in danger on four different occasions. I am terrified to drive this vehicle even if they can fix it because its not a guarantee that I will not have these issues again and next time it could cost us our lives.

This vehicle consistently is 1 quart low on oil during each oil change, and there is no oil on the dipstick, despite the fact I get my oil changed prior to the recommended mileage, and less than every 3 months. I am using synthetic oil in the car. I have taken it to the original dealership, then an oil change shop twice, and then another dealership to look at the issue. The last dealership advised me they would do an oil consumption test and that I needed to check my oil dipstick frequently as the engine will shut off if the oil gets too low. No indicator light has ever displayed indicating an issue with the low oil or oil pressure. Many times the display shows I have 40% or more oil life left, despite the fact the car will be 1 quart low on oil, with no oil on the dipstick. The car has 26500 miles on it. The first time the issue was noted was when my car did shut off in drive, and I pulled it into an oil change place who advised me there was not enough oil in the engine. The car had just hit the mileage mark to be changed. This occurred in the fall of 2018.

The "service shifter" light will turn on. It has happened twice, the first time at less than ten miles per hour in a parking lot and the second time on the interstate going 70 mph. When the service shifter light turns on, it illuminates the prnd lights on the shifter to all red. Since they are all red, you cannot tell if you are in park completely. There is 26,650 miles on the vehicle. It is currently getting serviced, the dealership I bought it from said it only needed flashed with the computer, however the dealership that is closest to my home (and the one who is currently replacing the gear shifter) told me the gear shifter had to be replaced and flashing with the computer would not fix the issue, as this was a frequent issue they have seen. If there is a frequent issue with the shifter in these vehicles, they need to be recalled. This is very dangerous and scary to not have any way of knowing if you are in park, reverse, neutral or drive.

My Jeep keeps illuminating all drive trains and telling me to service shifter. I've had the whole wiring harness replaced a month ago with 10,000 miles and now it is doing it again! I have to kill the engine and turn it back on. Most times service shifter still remains on the screen.

My Jeep Cherokee has been shutting off while driving. This car was purchased brand new. This has happened several times. The original dealership, keffer Chrysler Jeep in charlotte, nc, has not returned any of my calls about this issue so I've had to go to another dealership to get this issue resolved. I have to take the vehicle for oil consumption tests but I do not feel safe in this vehicle because of the fact that it shuts off while driving. The last time it shut down I was on a main highway and was almost hit. Consumer stated car completely shut off, losing control of the vehicle. There was no warning sign, which caused several accidents.

The automobile shuts off (while in motion) when it's time for an oil change (around 3000 miles). It mostly shuts off during turns but it has shut off on the highway before. The oil light never comes on, the battery light does although there isn't an issue with the battery. After waiting a few minutes, it's possible to start the automoblie again without the assistance of a boost.

While vehicle was in motion a 'service shifter' light eliminated and all of the gear lights were on while the car was in drive. Once I stopped the car, parked, and turned the engine off, I waited a few minutes and restarted the car, the lights were gone. This is the second time in one week this has happened.

I backed out of my garage into the driveway and stopped the car to bring in the recycling bin. I shifted into what I thought was park, released the break, and exited the car. After I had exited, the car began to move forward toward the open garage. I attempted to jump back into the car in order to stop it and sustained a serious hand injury as the Jeep's door slammed into the side of the garage and closed back upon me. Similar runaway car events have occurred to me in this car (with less dramatic consequences) twice prior, but never in 25 years before I purchased this 2018 Grand Cherokee. Some 2018 Jeep have been recalled for faulty park lock rods, so my concern is that the events I experienced have been due to the inability to achieve park. Even if I erroneously put the car in drive, it should typically have started to move forward as soon as I released the break, alerting me that the car was in gear. Instead, nothing happened for 3 seconds - this provided a false sense of security that the car was in park and worse, gave me enough opportunity to exit. This delay can be reproduced when transitioning from reverse to drive. Lastly, when the door in the Grand Cherokee is opened while the car is in gear, it simply beeps once - a very minimal and inadequate alert system.

For the past three months since labor day of 2018, my 2018 Jeep Cherokee latitude has not started on several occasions. Eventually it does start but it will always say, "cannot read key fob". I have discovered that it's worse when I use the remote start to warm it up. What's really weird is that I have discovered that when I get out of my vehicle and go to the back hatch and use the remote to lock and unlock the doors, it starts after that. Go figure. Just this week, the driver side door wouldn't shut twice within three days. The latch was stuck. Eventually, after trying just about everything I could think of like turning the vehicle on and off and locking and unlocking the doors from the inside of the vehicle, I tried using the remote to lock and unlock the doors, and then the driver side door shut properly. I don't understand why such a new vehicle purchase brand new in April of this year with less than 14, 000 miles on it would have so many problems. The dealership is picking it up again tomorrow for the third time to attempt to fix it. Last chance. If not fixed this time, I will be getting legal representation. Not sure if these are safety issues but I know that driving down the road with the door not closed properly could be a hazard. I am just wondering if something else might go wrong with it next. I am really disappointed in this vehicle to say the least!

While driving highway speeds there is a vibration between 60 and 80 miles per hour. I have had the tires replaced, rims replaced and no change in vibration. It has started since I owned the vehicle with 7 miles on the odometer till today with 9000 miles on it. The dealer claims that this is normal throughout the line of Cherokee and is just "road vibration" but talking with other owners this is not the case and they do not experience the same thing. It does tend to fade away during long left turns on the freeway but appears as soon as the vehicle straightens. Numerous attempts to get the dealership to fix this has resulted in no headway as the dealer claims that this is normal.
