Accelerating is jerky and many times does not shift correctly as speed increases (into next gear on left hand side ). also, as vehicle goes down small hills it seems like it doesn't understand how to handle the decease in acceleration. Also, when shifting from reverse to drive, it takes at least 30 seconds to correctly respond. I brought vehicle into shop, they stated it was the vehicle getting to know how I drive.

When driving down hills and manually downshifting to maintain the legal safe speed the transmission will freewheel for several seconds around 45 mph and will not downshift until 53 mph. At first service visit, dealer updated shift programming for the transmission, with no improvement. At second visit, Jeep service wrote on invoice "6886 normal vehicle characteristic. Verified customer concern. Going downhill and manually shifting, engine and vehicle speed may increase before down shifting. This is due to a dog clutch being used for that gear, and requires engine speed to increase in order to engage that clutch. No fault codes, no service bulletins or star cases for this concern. Tech and shop foreman road tested vehicle confirming normal operation as compared to like vehicle." Several times when descending a moderate hill in san diego, a hard brake application is required to bring the vehicle under control so as to avoid a rear end collision with a vehicle in front. This is an unsafe design fault of the zf 9-speed transmission. More than 500,000 zf-9 transmissions have been recalled since 2014, and safety problems continue.

On nov16 at the parking lot, when I took off at 5-8miles, mysterious noises under hood like high motor rotation. I returned to park and checked areas under hood, displays on dashboard such as battery voltage at 14.6V, engine oil life at 34 %,etc. II shut off engine.,I took off tothe dealer at this time no noise at all. On nov18 morning, I was driving approximately 30-40 mph when slowing down to approximately 15 mph to yield for oncoming traffic for a red light.after the light changed to green, I started to drive and around at 10 to 15 mph and accelerated.however, rpms increased to around 5,000 and the vehicle speed stayed only at around 25 mph with high motor rotation sounds. Therefore, I contined to drive at the low speed and tried to find the safe place on the side of the road.the, I shut off engine and call the dealer to tell the problem. Then I took off again but the vehicle was able to drive without a problem at this time.unfortunately, the same problem happened on nov20 and nov21. I finally brought a vehicle to the dealer and showed the video on nov21. And they fixed the vehicle on nov25. They explained oil level was low to the bottom of dipstick and 400 miles overdue on oil change sticker. I told them oil life indicator displayed 34 % on nov16. But they said that don't trust system and check oil change sticker and make sure to do oil change every 5000 miles.I asked why oil life indicator is not correct. They said only 2.4 liter engine needs oil change every 5000 mileage followed by oil change sticker. I complained to fix oil level indicator the. They said they checked already 100 times and insisted to follow a sticker.they also said they had 50 customers had the same problem at this dealer.then, the system should be recalled for the safety. One of incidents at this time might cause a car crash behind me as my car was at 25mph on 50mph max speed road.

I purchased a 2019 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk on 11/11/2019. That same evening the instrument cluster, uconnect, and lights all cut out while I was driving down the road. This caused the engine control to be cut and dtc's for brakes, ESC, transmission, and the shifter. Thankfully the first few times this happened on a street with heavy traffic during rush hour and I was able to restart the vehicle. It happened again on the second day while in motion on a side road and again the third day except while driving on the highway. After the third day, I scheduled it for service at a local Jeep dealer. Upon having my vehicle for five days, the dealer discovered a corroded/faulty ground and made the necessary repairs. The vehicle was picked up on 11/18/2019. It drove great until 11/20/2019 when the power once again was cut from the instrument cluster, uconnect, and lights. This also resulted in a loss of engine control with the same array of dtc codes being displayed and also occurred while driving. I was able to safely pull off the road and restart the vehicle. Thankfully this happened roughly a mile from the dealer and I was able to limp the Jeep there. They checked the codes and advised me to bring the vehicle back in the morning. On 11/21/2019 I returned the Jeep to the dealer where it is currently being worked on again. This vehicle is an extreme danger to not only myself but to other motorists that could potentially collide with me due to the random and unpredictable nature of the issue. I am so concerned about the safety of the vehicle that I will not allow my children to ride in my vehicle with me.

I bought my Jeep on December 12, 2018 from jt's Jeep in lexington SC. At roughly 400 miles, the start/stop system light illuminated and displayed a message for service.I parked the Jeep and shut it off, and restarted. Worked fine after that. At roughly 1,600 miles, it did the same thing again. Same procedure. Went away. At 7,500 miles I took it in for service and they checked and said nothing was wrong. At 8000 miles I was merging onto the interstate in columbia SC and started to accelerate and it lost all power; power steering, acceleration, braking, and displayed a message of "electrical system fault" I managed to get it off the road and restarted, drove to ga fine. I scheduled an appointment with the local Chrysler dealer here in ga, they kept it an entire week and claimed nothing was wrong. But that they fixed a recall that would remedy the issue. It has not. It has done this again and again, sometimes completely locking down, other times just illuminating the auto start stop service light. I am terrified of my vehicle. I bought it brand new because I needed a safe, reliable vehicle. It has been anything but. It currently has just over 10,000 miles. I have photographic proof of the times it has went haywire.

I just purchased this vehicle 3 days ago with 17,600 miles., I have been experiencing the vehicle cut off when at a stopped position even if the gears are in drive. Today I attempted to turn on the vehicle but showed no sign of power, I waitied and tried again. Once I got the vehicle to run the check engine light came on. I do know there was a recall for this exact same issue and my vehicle seems to not have been repaired.

I got my car mid June and after putting on about 4000 miles I started hearing and feeling some strange things with the transmission. Here is list of the issues I'm experiencing: After starting my car & putting it into gear (drive), I drive about 200 to 500 ft (at a max speed of 30mph) and I hear a grinding noise. The traffic light turns green I put my foot on the accelerator and sometimes it will start moving in low gear very slowly then it suddenly jerks and flies (as if it were trying to make up for its previous lack of response) recently when I went from reverse to drive (backing out a parking spot) the car went into low gear it took about 30 seconds for it to go back to normal ps I live in brooklyn

Vehicle does not downshift properly resulting in lack of power upon acceleration. For example, if I slow down when approaching a red traffic light and the light turns green before I come to a stop, the vehicle hesitates when I try to accelerate, the engine lugs, and has no power to begin accelerating again. The same situation occurs when slowing to avoid traffic in front of me. Also happens when slowing at round abouts and attempting to accelerated out of the turn. Took the vehicle to Jeep service center twice. Their response on the repair ticket: "test drove and Jeep shifts and feels like other 8/9 speed transmissions. At this time nothing further." Service manager stated that this is a common problem and Jeep does not have a fix available. They did perform a software update which did not remedy the situation. I bought the vehicle used with 24,158 miles. The problem has occurred consistently since then.vehicle now has 31,808 miles.

My transmission began leaking badly and had to be replaced only days after I bought it. My car shut off in the middle of the road or at the stop sign several times. I had to restart the car in order to start it and drive. The brakes have also squealed several times while slowing down on the local streets and interstate. The bluetooth takes 10-15 minutes to add the phone and sometimes does not connect until car is restarted. These incidents started to take place in May 2019

While driving on I 76, the car just shifted into neutral while in traffic. The dash read, you must stop before you switch gears. The gear was already in drive. Could not pull over, car would not move. Had to cut it off and start it over. Very dangerous situation on the expressway. Tried to switch the gears after putting on brakes, but to no avail.

After driving at freeway speeds of 60-70 mph, the steering begins to pull to the right continuously. Then, without warning, it will suddenly pull to the left, then right, then the steering wheel will start to wobble and shimmy and a sense of loss of control of the vehicle is felt. The entire front end starts to shake. Also, at the time this is occurring, the odor of hot oil permeates the interior of the vehicle. This problem happens every time the vehicle is driven for over an hour at freeway speeds. Once, while this was going on the drive shaft front cv joint seized causing the drive shaft to come off the power transfer unit damaging the ptu output shaft. This vehicle, purchased new, has been in the dealer's repair shop four times for this problem (it is there now). In the past three months, it has been in that shop 65 days (so far). They have replaced the power transfer unit twice, the front cv joint and steering gear shield. This vehicle is unsafe to drive a freeway speeds. The problem appears to be the same one affecting the 2018 and 2019 Jeep Wrangler where the steering issues include shimmying, wobbling, looseness, and locking up. The Jeep dealer where purchased and repairs attempted is dick hannah Jeep, 3517 ne auto mall drive, vancouver, wa 98668.

Automatic transmission exhibits odd behavior from the day of delivery of this new car, Jeep service says nothing is wrong; clunking noise when lightly tapping the accelerator, rough shifting, when letting foot of the accelerator vehicle doesn't slow down and takes long time before it does, it feels like it is coasting instead of slowing when it finally downshifts it speeds up on its own and then slowly decelerates.

On 2/28/19 I purchased a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. On 4/15 I had to have the transmission replaced due to leak & failure. On 5/27 I had to have the dash instrument panel replaced due to failure, which I have video record of. On 7/10 I had to have the park sensor replaced due to failure & the vehicle throwing itself into park instructing me that door was ajar when it wasn't. I can only imagine if this had happened while I was doing 70mph on the freeway. My VIN is not showing in any of the recalls, however three recalls pertain to me. So I need to know what to do to make ppl aware of these recalls. My VIN needs to be added to the list. I have all repair reports needed to prove my vehicle is a safety issue. I have repetitively asked Jeep to place me in a safer more reliable vehicle and they refuse to return my calls or assist me in any way, stating that 'this is why we have warranties' someone needs to contact me about this issue. I need help before my vehicle results in a fatal crash no kills my family and me. I am noting that I contacted the NHTSA about this issue on 9/11 and am awaiting a response.

My 2019 Jeep Cherokee Laredo is equipped with the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine. It's constantly losing oil and shuts down without any type of warning. It has only 18,000 miles and I feel that it's very dangerous. It's been happening since I purchased it. It has shut down on major roads as well as local ones. I never know when it will happen next.
