I took my car four times to the dealership for repairs. They have only done two repairs but every time I take it and they fix something, something else starts giving me problems. My car has shut down in the freeway that was the reason why I took it the first time. The dealer only did an update in the power train, which they said it was recall. After that the car continue with all the other problems that were not taken care by the dealership. I tried two different Jeep/Chrysler dealerships, one in alhambra which is where I bought the car from and the other location I took the car was the one in downey, ca. I'm afraid off getting into a car accident because of all the problems the car has. The dealership doesn't want to fix the car as they said the car is not showing any codes for them to fix them. The car accelerates by it self, the brakes are not working properly, it shakes and the last time I took the car for repair it started to smell like gasoline, also the dashboard turns on and off by it self. I just want to have a reliable car as I'm paying for a 2019 vehicle not a used one. I just don't want to put my kids, myself, or anyone's life in danger due to the car not functioning properly. I would greatly appreciated if you guys can assist or help me with this matter at your earliest convenience.

The vehicle was in motion on a county road traveling normally when it suddenly stalled out losing all power including steering. The instrument panel stated something like "must be in park to change gears" although no manual attempt had been made to do anything of the sort. This has happened twice. The Jeep dealer kept the vehicle for two weeks and has decided there is nothing wrong with it.

The vehicle does not shift correctly. It lags terribly. It does not accelerate properly. It jerks and the transmission grinds. The brakes make strange noises when coming to a stop and it doesn't stop as quickly as it should. The radio overheats and the usb ports stop working randomly. The vehicle cut off on a major hwy at one point. Several complaints have been made to the dealer and it has been serviced multiple times and it's not correcting the problem. It's a brand new vehicle and started having issues not long after it was purchased. The dealer keeps re-flashing the transmission and it's not fixing the problems this vehicle has. Chrysler won't do anything for us because they say there are no codes on the vehicle. This vehicle is not operating properly and it's not even safe to drive. We shouldn't have to keep a vehicle that was purchased brand new and it has had nothing but problems. The mechanic even admitted it lags but stated "it's not that bad." This is unacceptable. No brand new vehicle should lag at all or have any of these other issues for that matter!

While driving, the vehicle would jump out of gear and RPM's would go up. Had to tap on brake to go back into gear. Had the transmission flashed per recent recall and still does it. 08/21/19 while driving the vehicle 50mph, the engine shut off, causing loss of steering and no brakes. Vehicle ran off the road and into some trees (crash). The dealership said if it didn't show a code that I had to call Jeep and file a complaint. I have done so and Chrysler hired Bosch to download the vehicle crash data to see what happened. Still waiting to hear back from the dealership.

5th complaint here about this vehicle which is now lemon law buy back due to lunging against the brakes at a stop, failure to shift properly and a throttle responsive clunk that has never been resolved. The only repairs fca would approve is reprogramming the computers which was completed several times and still has these issues.

2019 Jeep Cherokee latitude stalls while the vehicle is in drive. The entire vehicle shuts down, the battery light displays, and the vehicle must be stopped, put in park, and restarted. This issue was noted by a recall earlier this year by Jeep, but service for the recall was ineffective and issue remains. Both experiences were while the car was in motion (driving) at approximately 35 miles per hour both on low grade inclines. The first experience was with less than 1,000 miles on the vehicle and the 2nd experience was at approximately 35,000 miles. Also, the speed control of the vehicle is inconsistent with both lurching at take off and slow acceleration. Consumer stated the Jeep was taken into the dealership for the final leg of the oil consumption test. Upon speaking with the dealership, they stated that, in the last week, Jeep acknowledged an engine oil consumption issue with this make and model. We were further told that a new engine will be ordered for the Jeep but because of the mass amount needed, it is a 2-3 month wait. In the wait time, we have been instructed to check and purchase oil for the Jeep every 2-3 weeks or as needed.

My 2019 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk has a V6 engine. And I noticed the transmission would jerk very hard into gear. Sometimes it does it when shifting into 3rd gear, when passing, and just normal driving. It feels like I've been rear ended cause it jerks so hard. It does this on regular roads as well as highways.

Takara recall when car is beginning to accelerate, the car jerks and stalls. Sometimes you can feel the jerk throughout the entire car. Especially when stopped at a red light. When you start to accelerate the car you can see the RPM go from 1 to 3 immediately. Then a complete jerk of the vehicle. Have taken vehicle to dealership. Chrysler has ran codes to try to determine the problem. It comes back as nothing is wrong. I have read over thousands of reviews online about this exact same issue and no one knows exactly what is going on. This is a safety issue.

In motion. Problem with vehicle, any speed, especially cruise control on. Speed set at [ex) 25 mph, traveling decline Jeep downshifts from 6th. Gear to 3rd. Gear. RPM jumps to 4200 from 1500 RPM. Engine starts racing as turbo kicks in. Transmission up shifts to higher gears. RPM stays high, vehicle doubles its speed. Occurs any speed. Any hill. On interstate with grades. No matter what roadway or surface. Did this the first day we bought it. My wife didn't tell me it continued. I found still occurred when I took for 3000 mile service. She said she just avoided cruise control. It will do this on a grade also if cruise is off. Longer grades. At the 3000 mile service I informed dealer dutch miller and called fca Jeep I registered a case #.that day in June. Dealership didn't follow through with Jeep, or visa versa. Jeep couldn't reach us for phones were out for 3 weeks due to storms. Jeep suspended. I called Jeep csm last week. They wanted another tech review. The June service review included taking a brand new identical Jeep limited 2.0 turbo and simulate. It was worse than ours. It actually red lined RPM on grade of rt 119 at oakwood interstate 64 access dealership agreed a problem. No known repair. Computer software or engineering update required by Jeep. Dealer did not report to Jeep csm on first service call. Due to length of time, we needed to repeat. Took in again 07/18/2019. Service writer just typed part observation of first visit. I contacted Jeep to be sure they were aware. Jeep case mgr. Contacted billy at dear who knew nothing of issue and stated he thought it did what the other Jeep did. Case mgr. Told me I could take to another dealer for a different case mgr. I emphasized this is a dangerous condition. Michael didn't want to be concerned with issue, it is dangerous, and I was reporting. Svc. Mgr.said he had spoken to michael, in the hour I have video.

Vehicle hesitates when accelerating, causing a lag in motion. Have had issues where lack of acceleration has placed my wife and I into a dangerous situation of being in an accident, like when trying to merge in traffic. This has been happening since my wife bought the vehicle in November, 2018. Took in to the Jeep dealer in Colorado springs and was told that nothing could be done until Jeep decides to issue a software update. Have seen similar complaints (hundreds of them) posted on NHTSA and carcomplaints.com. Chrysler/Jeep needs to address this problem before someone is injured or killed.

New car, 2 weeks old with 800 miles will not hold speed with cruise control while going down hill. In fact, the car actually accelerates with engine. This happens at all speeds. Dealers and factory says "it is a characteristic of all 9 speed transmissions". it is a dangerous situation. In another transmission related issues, the car makes a loud clunk when driving between 30-50 mph on a flat road when lightly putting foot on accelerator. It is so loud and hard you can hear and feel it over the radio. Again we are told this "is a characteristic of the 9 speed transmissions"! unacceptable! a class-action lawsuit needs to filed against the manufacturer.

At around 1200 RPM and at about 30-40 mph, coming off the accelerator and then back on it results in a clunk type noise. It appears to be coming from the transmission. At times it is a slight noise, at other times it is quite loud. After 2 visits to the dealer and rising to level 2 at Jeep customer service no one can offer a fix. Jeep customer service says the transmission will self calibrate and the noise will go away. Almost 2000 miles on the vehicle and it hasn't self calibrated yet.

The automatic transmission shifting at low speeds constantly hesitates and freezes when trying to accelerate. Most often after stoping. The resultant delay in shifting often occurs when pulling into traffic and is particularly bad when accelerating from a stop up a hill. As a natural reaction to the effect of a stall while trying to accelerate the pedal is depressed further. When the transmission finally decides to downshift it results in a rough jerking of forward acceleration and high RPM acceleration. This behavior happens every time the vehicle is driven. The transmission has been faulty since the day the car was delivered new with 20 miles. The dealer claims there is no solution until the manufacturer issues a computer software fix.

Vehicle bought with about 14 miles on it. At about 200 miles a noise appeared when coasting and applying light pressure on the gas. The noise has become louder and more noticeable to the point where you can feel the noise in your feet. One a few occasions, the traction control light came on, the noise became louder and happened for a longer period of time. Dealer can't find an issue but refuse to tell me if it is safe to drive. Dealer took a different vehicle (exactly the same) and found the noise is happening in that vehicle as well. Pretty sure the issue is in the drivetrain. Dealer reported the problem to fca star engineering but there is "no fix at this point". it was found that there have been numerous complaints on this same issue for almost a year. This vehicle only has 1900 miles on it...

Driving approximately 30-40 mph when slowing down to approximately 10-15 mph to yield for oncoming traffic or a red light the vehicle will have a delayed response to any acceleration input causing a dangerous situation (ie. If trying to take off in front of another vehicle due to space but realize they are traveling much faster than anticipated you are unable to get out of the way due to car not responding to pedal input immediately).

After an intersection stop and starting to accelerate during a right turn and car in motion, the car engine stalled. The dashboard showed 0 RPM and just the battery indicator on. Park over the road shoulders, I could start the engine again after 2 attempts. This has happened 3 times as of now, 2 times last week (May 10 and May 11 2019). Went to the Jeep dealer in pineville, charlotte, nc. They suppose executed the work order for the safety recall U86 (NHTSA recall number 18V-523) on May 11. But today (May 13 2019) the car did exactly the same in the same intersection like the first time. Car has only 4,250 miles. Consumer stated I went to the dealership as I saw "oil pressure" error message on the dashboard and noticed abnormal low engine oil level, having just 4,000 miles. During the recall service, they suppose checked all levels including the most important one: Engine oil. So, after a oil change and oil level replenishment, the Jeep Cherokee is working well since then. Consumer took the vehicle to another dealer to get oil change.

As of May 5th experienced a safety risk with this Jeep and it's 9 speed transmission. On the expressway and tried to merge to another expressway and vehicle failed to downshift or accelerate when attempting to merge. This was also accompanied with excessive gear hunting along with hard shifts and long/high RPM shifts. Not to mention it will lunge or try to overpower the brakes when at a stop light. Will be going to the shop for the 4th time for same issue. The problem is, it is random and never know what it will do next. This vehicle is a safety risk!
