there's is a problem with the Touch Screen where a message keeps popping up and after a period of time this causes the Touch Screen to be unusable (can't use Navigation, Radio, Hands Free Calling etc.). after doing research online it appears this is a known problem and is the result of a flaw in the Manufacturer's (LG) process (delamination of adhesive between Screen and Digitial Touch Component). As a side note, I mentioned this when I brought my Jeep into the Dealership for service and they confirmed they were aware of it (their solution is to charge me $2,145 to replace the Radio...the Radio isn't the problem, it's the Touch Screen that has the issue).

The control screen of my jeep is 'delaminating'. This is apparently quite a known issue to the manufacturer, however they wont do anything to address it. When the screen starts reacting to phantom touches, not only can I not control anything in the car, it is very distracting to the driver to put it mildly. I have also read that as the glue melts, it leaks onto the wiring of all the components under the screen including the AC, all the parking sensor and traction control off controls.

The 8.4 touch screen is delaminating causing the whole screen area to randomly turn things on and off on its own. Changing certain settings while driving. Safety settings are being affected as well as the touch screen controls almost everything. The defective touch screen is causing a distraction while driving. Contacted jeep they are aware of the issues but no one wants to take responsibility to fix it.

Touch screen is delaminating and has ghost touch causing random unintentional functions to be selected and others to be obscured. Heated seats come on and won't turn off. Phone calls are made on their own. Repeated screen messages from ghost touch selections obstruct use of screen for intended purposes which include most vehicle controls. It presents a serious driving distraction. I consider this a safety issue. It is a known defective part for which Jeep has a replacement but won't offer the replacement at no cost out of warranty. Cost is approximately $1,000.

Top right corner of touch screen started delaminating about a year ago. But nothing happened, it was just cosmetic. Until now, it causes the screen to change on its own. It will call people, change the radio station, flicker the map and end the directions, turn on my seat heaters. It is very distracting while driving which is dangerous and puts my safety at risk. This is a very known and common issue by Jeep, but out of warranty they just charge you $1000+ to replace it.

I own a jeep grand Cherokee summit (2018), and the central control unit is delaminating, which in turn causes touch screen sensitivity issues. The trouble is that this unit is the central nervous system of the car. It controls hvac, camera, radio, car settings, etc-?? and having a car pressing its own buttons and self-changing car settings while driving is a MAJOR safety concern. Jeep has been unhelpful for myself and for vehicle owners of Jeep, Ram, etc-?? cars which all suffer from the same manufacturer defect. The manufacturer admittedly says the units are universally a problem, and have goodwill fixed some for people out of warranty, but refuses to help most people -?" thereby forcing the consumer to spend ~$1500 installing a new computer. Please help.

Uconnect infotainment screen is delaminating causing the unit to select random buttons on its own. on a cool morning I was driving to work when the screen started randomly changing the climate controls blasting full heat directly on my windshield causing it to fog up and impaired my visibility. The unit then started calling 911, turning radio channels on and adjusting the volume. This was extremely distracting and I had no control over the functions of my vehicle. Uconnect is aware of this very common issue and refuses to offer a solution. No warning, only visible defect of the delamination was present prior to the unit randomly changing functions on its own.

Touch Screen De-laminiation. Entertainment system started having ghost clicks without being touched while driving at highway speeds. Started making phone calls, changing radio stations, turning HVAC on and off, depending on which screen I was on. Could not turn off screen because the phantom touches would just turn it back on again.

It is extremely distracting and you cannot use 90% of the functionality of your dash!

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the traction control warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle would start and shift out of park without depressing the brake pedal. The brake warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the adaptive cruise control mode and the automatic Start/Stop feature were no longer operative. The contact received notification NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V426000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that service brake hydraulic system had failed. The vehicle was then taken to a second dealer, Bryden Jeep Ram Dodge Chrysler - Bryden Motors (548 Broad St, Beloit, WI 53511) who provided the same diagnostic result and advised the contact to not drive the vehicle as it was unsafe. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights would illuminate while driving the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The screen in my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee is bubbling up. It seems that the screen is delaminating. Because of the delamination, the screen thinks that I am touching it. My radio station will change, the clock settings keep coming up and disappearing, and the top portion of the screen where it has delaminated does not work at all. When I touch the screen, it does not work. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I am concerned that the electrical will fail and cause my car to lock up. My safety is put as risk with the chance that the screen fails and causes an electrical issue. This also puts everyone else at danger if the car malfunctions and I lose control on the roadway. I called the dealership and they stated that this is a known problem in the model and year of my Jeep. There was no warning that this problem was going to occur.

The screens on the 2018 and later Jeep Grand Cherokees are delaminating and changing settings in the vehicle automatically. This cause issues on setting controlled by the screen, and leads to distraction on the road. There are numerous reports of this incident occurring (simple google it), and should have been a part recall by the NHTSA or Jeep.

The main LCD screen for the car that controls, climate, radio, Bluetooth, navigation etc. has started delaminating. The delaminating has caused the screen to behave as though possessed. Car will make calls from contacts and drop calls, make SOS calls to 911, change radio stations, change climate settings, turn on seat heaters, randomly usurp the navigation system when being used to name just a few behaviors. I have observed most systems controlled from the screen to be victim of this delaminating. It is incredibly dangerous when the screen acts up while driving, distracting the driver while moving. Many of the actions require immediate attention which distract driver from the road. It started several months ago only occasionally but has recently advanced where the disruptions are constant. The dealers and manufacturer are well aware of the issue but the cost to repair is upwards of $2000 which is a barrier for many vehicle owners. The problem started after noticing a small bubbles in the screen and has progressively gotten worse.

The vehicle's UConnect screen has delaminated. The result is a "ghost finger" touching the screen in random places every few seconds. This causes: The heat and fan to crank up to maximum; the heated seats to come on high; or Bluetooth to drop off; radio to switch between functions; navigation system will begin tracking in random directions. This is extremely distracting while driving and requires my attention to remedy which is a significant safety concern. Safety issue is averrable for inspection. Dealer has visually inspected the issue and verbally confirmed the delimitation is the case of the issue. no one else has inspected the issue. This issue began a year ago, around 30k miles, and has continued to get worse. Vehicle is at 37k miles now.

For the last month of more, the infosystem would asked "Do you want to adjust your clock setting?". If you say no takes you back to the same screen if you say yes it let you update it but then goes back to the same screen and keeps on blinking and making sounds (causing an audible driving hazard). It would go away only to come back the next time you drive. Now today it is changing stations would out me touching the screen and now when i turn on the radio the volume is set to max (almost caused an accident this morning when it cranked to max while driving). Checked it it appears my uconnect system is up to date so not sure what else i could do. Dealer will look it at for $150 bucks!!!
