My radio-touch panel system worked fine up until I approached the 3rd year of ownership when I received a download directly to the vehicle and immediately after that the touch screen control panel went haywire. I find it convenient that this happened so close to the manufactures warranty being up. The download was sent directly to the car by Uconnect. The Jeep dealership told me without looking at it that it would be a $1000 to replace plus an inspection into the problem cost of like $300. They said it was a common problem and that it was not covered and that I had to leave it. I could not do that at that time, I was going on a trip. The touch panel causes "phantom touches-€ while driving the Jeep. The most common problem is repeatedly asking for the clock date/time input regardless if you try to close it out, it comes back and does not allow you to use the other components of the touch screen. It is extremely distracting and it beeps repeatedly over the radio or phone usage, keeping you from being able to concentrate on anything but the rapid beeping and flashing on the screen. Sometimes I cannot even make calls because the phone system will not work, or it will randomly call people in my contacts without me touching the phone or the touch screen. It is startling to a driver when a phone starts calling random contacts and you push the red hang up button and it does not work. This system controls literally everything (radio, heat, AC, defrost, phone usage, navigation system) and can be very distracting to the driver while driving. I bought this vehicle for the sole purpose of it-€™s great safety review (at that time) and in my experience, it has been anything but safe.

I own a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the screen is delaminating and calling random numbers on my phone along with pressing random buttons on the screen when it is connected to bluetooth. This is a hazard because it takes my attention off the road to try to hang up on the calls and fix the screen. Jeep knows about this problem and refuses to fix it or call a recall. It is a problem that is going on with Chrysler Jeep Dodge models 2018 and on.this is a safety hazard that could result in a crash caused my this electrical malfunction. Many Jeep owners ive spoken too have this problem also right out of the factory. This was something that is the manufacturer issue and should not be pinned on the customer to replace or fix for a steep price. The customer should not be responsible for this. I have not done anything to the screen to make it delaminate I don't even touch it. Thus demanding a recall be issued to fix this dangerous problem.

There are numerous safety issues with this vehicle. The most concerning is electrical/fuel/engine relating to the TIPM. The vehicle intermittently refuses to start. The integrated fuel pump relay in the TIPM fails. This has left my wife stranded in potentially dangerous areas. It has also died while the vehicle was in motion. In addition to the TIPM issues, the digitizer of the factory radio/navigation system has delaminated from the LCD screen. The safety issues this causes are multiple: random phone calls while driving (distracting), random radio station changes (again, distracting to a driver), and an inability to properly utilize navigation (potentially dangerous if it tries to change a route and indicates last-second turns). It also prevents the driver from calling someone if they are in need of help. Not only does hands-free calling not work, but even when taking out the phone to dial, the haywire behavior of the device being connected via bluetooth makes calls difficult. These are known issues by the Jeep dealer with frequent warranty replacements admitted by the advisor and technician, yet they have been zero assistance in helping because the vehicle is out of warranty. It will require action from someone like the NHTSA to get Jeep to correct these problems for many owners. It is criminal to charge people this amount of money for a vehicle that simply doesn't do what it is supposed to do.

Delamination of the touch screen control panel. Corner began with a small air bubble and proceeded to spread across the top and towards the bottom along the edge. Causes "phantom touches". Most common symptom is repeatedly asking for date/time input regardless if you try to close it out. It will beep repeatedly. One time the system reset itself while driving after a session of these "phantom touches". This system controls literally everything and can be very distracting to the driver while driving. Even with the 5k gold dealer warranty this is not covered. Chrysler was zero help. I see many complaints of the same exact description online. We have had this vehicle for 8 months and it's already an issue every few months. Now we are expected to shell out $1,500 for a new head unit. Not what we expected for $30k+. -ac compressor replacement (Dealer installed sterling wheel crooked doing this job and had to hold it an additional 30 hours.) -screen delamination -squeaking driverside window

My Jeep Grand Cherokee is having an issue known as "Screen Delamination". This is the radio unit and it causes "ghost touches" to happen all the time. I have done a lot of research on this issue, because Jeep will not replace the faulty unit, because I am not the original owner of the vehicle. I contacted Jeep and they told me they will not open a case for me since I was not the original owner. There are several jeep boards where owners are having the same issue. This issue causes the radio to change stations on its own, make phone calls by itself, change the settings in the system, control the AC functions. All this happens when no one is touching the screen or anything. I feel like since there have been so many complaints about this, that Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler should replace these units.

I purchased the vehicle new and it now has 29500 miles on it. The screen for the navigation (which controls stereo, climate, phone, and everything else) started delaminating. When the screen starts doing phantom touches it is very distracting to the driver. Also, as the glue melts, it leaks onto the wiring of all the components under the screen including the AC, all the parking sensor and traction control off controls.

At less than 30,000 miles, the Jeep Grand Cherokee's touch screen display malfunctioned and began acting on it's own. The primary issues that I have used and been impacted by are the system changes radio stations and inputs and changes destination points on the GPS, without selection from the driver or any occupant. These are both audio and visual changes that occur sporadically and are extremely distracting and call for the driver's attention to attempt to remedy the defect while driving. If the driver is following the navigation but then the screen changes to other displays and information, this conflict can easily cause a crash on top of being a nuisance. I have read several other similar complaints that seem to be going unaddressed by the manufacturer and are being identified as "delamination" of the vehicle's display unit, which houses information, entertainment, navigation, and other other digital/automated controls.

My 2018 Jeep GC has the delaminating screen It has 88,000 miles & I was told since I am not the first owner it-€™s not going to be fixed. Hard to believe I paid $30,000 for a vehicle with everything to be reduced to having nothing. The screen gets very hot & sticky stuff melts onto the console!! Once a screen comes up about clock settings then nothing can be accessed. The preset radio stations randomly & constantly change, the temperature goes from hot to cold, it switches from xm to regular radio, it saves favorite songs & artists, seat warmer comes on & you cannot turn it off or down, when starting the vehicle it randomly makes phone calls from the recent list or calls the first person in my contacts list. (She is used to it, I now have to text her if I really want to call her) it beeps constantly, when trying to use hands free phone calls it switches itself to the phone and back to the car over & over & constantly hangs up the screen randomly changes to the rear camera so your whole screen is you looking behind your vehicle it constantly switches where the air is blowing from the floor to the face to the windshield back to the floor then the face then the windshield and I have asked for help from service & the dealer but nothing they didn-€™t even return my call. I have written letters & called every number including Chrysler cares (case# 81357273) but no one will help. When I ask why because I am the second Owner they won-€™t fix it & they say it-€™s company policy. So if I was the first owner they would fix it under Chrysler Good Will. It-€™s been a year. Very disappointed in Chrysler & Jeep. After I purchased mine a co-worker purchased one & my son but I will never recommend Jeep again. How is a defect the first, second, or third or twentieth persons fault? The company policy excuse is just their way of not having to fix it. I wish I would have sold it back to them when they offered after Covid started. I asked my family to sue if I get hurt I have documented it ALL!!!

The infotainment screen is delaminating and the digitizer is separating from the screen. Where separated, the screen prompts the driver to change settings, arbitrarily changes settings, or changes radio settings and renders the screen unusable. The driver is unable to adjust important settings on the vehicle and sometimes has to turn the screen off totally which renders the backup camera useless. The constant prompting to change settings or arbitrarily changing settings or making unwanted phone calls is distracting to the driver and draws his attention from driving. I have contacted FCA(Jeep-€™s parent company) and they are aware of the problem but have declined to address it.

Our 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee which has less than 16,000 miles has developed an unusual problem. The uconnect screen console with radio will no longer stay on any station, instead it jumps from station & goes from xm, fm, to am, all on it's own. Others have reported rear canera locks up, stalling has occured, bluetooth phone connection begins making calls fron the contacts list and seat warmer & cooler go on & off. Jeep is aware of these problems & more. Jeep & our dealership says they are aware of these problems. They say it is caused by delamination, that is the glue used to mount the screen & cosole is melting and dripping down on connections on the moterboard causing much erratic behaviour. This collection of problems is certainly a safety issue. However, at this time Jeep has not set a recall. It looks as though Jeep has decided to just stick it to their loyal customers and let them pay up to $ 2,000 for replacing the console. Jeep offers a two year warranty but I am unable to find out if these problems have been addressed or are we getting another screen & console with the same problems. I am trying to find a way to contact Jeep directly but having no luck so far.

The radio had a delamination issues cause if the screen to go haywire. If turned on the radio would automatically flip through all the settings on the head unit. From headed seats to navigation to music it rendered the entire unit unusable. It might as well came without a radio or navigation because it couldn-€™t be used.
